@ 190,

me I dey new to Benz, and since I started with a C class, - i.e younger sister to ur 190, I am not too qualified to say much, but in my opinion I dont know whether many mechanic understand that car.

I ve seen 190 chassis with a totally diff engine, if u ask why, they say it gave one wahala here n there, especially petrol issue,

so u tell me , whats ur experience so far, grin

Please can someone share with me how to attain the required temperature @ traffic aside bypassing the voltage to the fan to make them run permanent as long as the engine runs. (I dont like this idea)

I Think there's a relay that activates the fan when d engine gets to a certain level, but when the AC is on and on traffic, the temp would tend to rise to the peak of 130 deg centigrade,

pls advice, 1994-98 -C-class benz series

To all the experts in the house,

I've been considering suggesting the 2008 ML 350 to my dad (he's getting a replacement ride this year) but I'm also attracted to the Acura MDX ('07/08) and there is the Toyota Highlander (~'09).

My question is -----> which would he buy and if he looks back in say 2013, he will still smile and nod ------> good buy?

Take reliability, cost of maintenance, fuel consumption and prestige into account.
For use in Naija.

Thanks.

Re: Mercedes Benz Thread by Demdem(m): 8:41am On Jan 11, 2011
Great Thread i must add. i own one of this machine (Coupe C-Class Kompressor;2000) and believe me, its incredible when driving. Solid on the groud. I must also add that being manual makes me feel in a different world of my own whenever i put this toy on the highway. Maintenance and fuel consumption avnt been killing at all contrary to my early beliefs. Summary is, i av  no regrets at all getting this (2yrs+). More on my experiences later.

When we were kids, my dad bought a Benz 200 brand new. That was when I fell in love with benz. It was always so comfortable n reliable. We always used it 2 travel 2 d East n it was so enjoyable.

My husband drives an E Class, bought brand new 2 yrs ago. Since I returned from my masters, I av been d one driving it. As heavy as dat car is, it can so speed. I love it. It responds 2 ur every touch as if its reading ur mind. Its fuel economy is a bit on d high side but its more dan worth it. Since it was bought, it has not gone 2 d mechanic 4 any major fault except 4 servicing.

My problem with the car is dat its 2 technical. My husband has not had d time 2 read d manual so he said I shld. I sleep off once I am on d first page. Thus, I only hear of what it can do as in using Bluetooth 2 connect ur phone, etc but I don't know how 2 do it. Second is dat d parts r so expensive. A danfo broke d back trafficator. When I found out how much it would cost 2 replace, I decided 2 leave it 4 a while.

My husband says he doesn't like d way I flog d car n wants 2 buy me a Tokunbo Camry or new Sonata. I was all 4 it till I drove a friends Camry 2 get a feel of d car. I lost interest in it. It just doesn't behave like my Benz. Dat car is sweet 2 drive. Will always recommend it 2 anyone. Don't know d technical details so can't go into all dat.

@ KunleOshob, with all due respect kindly take ur post out, this is thread is not for advert, its for discussion about Mercedes benz,

@ Blapo, my broda, I was damn thrilled if u read my first post, alot motivated me to start this post/thread.
its a 1997 C200, originally intended for my madam, , I was thinking camry was it all, the car is smthn else, very reliable. Confidence builder while u drive, it has done almost 1000km on Lagos - Ore - Benin road, I dont think I can use any other car on such journey anymore grin grin

Meanwhile can someone assist me with the service manual, not for FOC , O!,

keep ur comments commin,
Re: Mercedes Benz Thread by kuntash(op): 11:01am On Jan 11, 2011
@ Blank,  your testimony is quite similar to mine O,  I'm sticking to this model of C- class so as not to run into the trouble with mechanics and wire joiners called electricians,  cos this model yr I have noticed can tolerate alot! cheesy
Re: Mercedes Benz Thread by soldee: 11:35am On Jan 11, 2011
That G55 AMG ROCKS!!! But its almost impossible getting a used one from America or Canada - damn near impossible! It seems no one wants to let theirs go. Did u know that the tyres are virtually fire proof?
