u are wrong, av been using acer chromebook 4 long...there no much difference between normal laptop and chromebook , if u known ur way around computer..u just need to change OS to either windows or linux .but I will advice u to go 4 linux OS ..YouTube is ur friend for more details. I even prefer it to normal laptop ,coz, faster booting, longer ba3 (7-10hrs), u can even install. any linux application on it

I just got a Lenovo Chromebook S330 as a gift. I'm only used to operating regular computers with Microsoft OS. Has anyone got any experience with Chromebooks? I hear you almost always need internet connection to perform even basic functions. Please share experiences, tips and tricks. Gurus, your opinions are very much welcome.

I'm into programming, thats the main reason i installed Ubuntu. i do mostly coding on it, lil bit of typing and also movies.
when i was using the chrome Os, i did only two things, Movies and browsing.

popular apps ain't available for chrome Os, no Vlc, no Microsoft, wps, Photoshop. although you can get most of them if yrs supports andriod. mine doesn't, so i installed linux. i still boot to chrome Os once in a while.

I did a small search on your behalf will post the link below this I would say the disadvantages first

1. Storage not really friendly for lots of graphic intensive work if you plan not to do more than word processing it’s the best for you but anything media related your storage won’t hold the highest you can get is like 32gig even with SD card but external may solve it but do you have USB?

2. Everything in the cloud even the printing so it will be tedious if your network is slow and not to forget the device might be slow sef

3. No Microsoft office you have to use their own processing software

I have a chrome book and there was a time I had issues with my laptop and needed to run some installations. That's when I hated it. Some models accept android and Linus. I tried to install android but couldn't so I settled for Linus. Unfortunately, the Linux didn't work the way I expected so I had to restore it back to the chrome OS. This is not a suitable or recommendable laptop except you have another laptop. There are some good sides to it though

It will have but it may be low compared to its competitors and not to mention that it’s android operating system so unless Corel draw is an app it might not work it’s basically a laptop phone
