Lets not be naive. Working with reality is always best in life.

Not saying anyone should praise these guys but just explaining that they are our reality as Nigerians and it is jobs, opportunities, personal prosperity and economic progress that will solve the problem not unhelpful intellectual snobbery and looking down on others when we are not willing to be part of the solution. Many touts go into the lifestyle because of the unavailability of jobs and inability to feed themselves. You know this so why talk ignorantly of the reality of Nigeria?

Look, oyinbo we all praise is more anarchaic. They formed brutal and very organised gangs like the Mafia, Russian mob, Yakuza et al originating in nations richer than Nigeria, with smaller population and less problems.

If most Britons, circa 60 million population, are in poverty, as is the case with Nigeria, then crime would be through the roof. Nigerians are docile and fairly good-hearted people and this is why 80% of 200 million people, the percentage living in poverty, are not openly looting and lynching the rich. Organised crime is still a joke in Nigeria, considering the level of poverty, whereas it is a serious problem in some of the richest and most stable democracies.

Even America has serious issues with crime. Bloods,crips, mafia, Aryan brothers, KKK, militias etc. It is about human resources. If we can develop ours and always keep them productively employed then Nigeria would be the best nation on earth because I believe the heart of the average Nigerian is good. We don't have total animal savagery on the street despite Nigerians living with conditions that are some of the worst and most dehumanizing in the world. Remember that when you judge and criticise.
