Humility017:Humility baba, national team football is different from club football. Yes Siasia failed twice and is on record but my own critical assessment of our non qualifications was traced to Eguavoen and Oliseh though I accept your view that Sia had the opportunities. |

I'll very much love to have Tammy Abraham in our team. But as it stands, Its not going to happen. Maybe he really had Nigeria in his mind initially but his utterances proved otherwise...Dude wanna play for England ...simple! He is in hot form right now and another England call up is just inches away. You think he will throw that away to declare for Nigeria? Take note that England will be playing competitive games until the euro starts in June 2020 (euro qualifiers and nations cup) and all it will take is one minute on the pitch for Tammy to be cap tied to them.. So why are we bothering ourselves? Biko, let's focus on the players we have now.. They mayn't be currently better than Tammy doesn't mean they won't be better than him in the future... |

TheGoodjoe, sometimes playing a conservative system can guarantee you good results.. Using Liverpool as a case study, when we almost won the league under Rodgers,we adopted one of the most offensive system in the league...scoring goals for fun but also conceding stupidly... We scored 100+ and conceded 50+ .. That eventually cost us the title... Klopp adopted similar approach when he first joined but it cost him two cup finals, hence the reason he splashed the cash to reinforce the defensive, and now he is in the race for the league title again... I don't really like Rohr sometimes, but I don't deny the fact that he has improved the team in some areas and is getting some decent results... Let's see how far we will go in the AFCON sha |

Humility017:For reference purpose The first match of that qualifiers was handled by Eguavoen. We won 2-0. The second match which was a loss to Guinea(our only loss on the qualifying stage) was under Eguavoen. If not for that loss we would have gone the entire qualifying process without a loss. Why are you all blindly and unjustifiably blaming Sia1 for the mistakes of Eguavoen? I must applaud Sia2 though, knowing Nigerians he shouldn't have accepted that shambolic 2012 qualifying process when he actually did. Now people like you go about saying rubbish like he was the one that failed when his team did not lose a single match. Heck Rohr has lost to SA mind you, that is actually worse than Sia1's record in that qualifying process. OK after the Shehu debacle you all have decided to blame the NFF,good and fine. But why are you all not blaming the NFF for not telling Sia1 that we needed only a win to qualify? What if someone had actually told him that we needed that two goals victory? I mean we all knew that the NFF was against Sia1, it was public knowledge then so it isn't impossible. Next time get your facts straight Oga |

Icon4s:I won't entirely blame him for not qualifying for AFCON. NFF should get half the blame. I liked how we played under Siasia but his man management skills was a bit suspect(not as bad as Oliseh)... the way he handled the Osaze and Enyeama issues wasn't the best and it cost us. |

Icon4s:What will an experienced coach do about Aiyenugba's shambolic display? I have seen Sia1's teams playing it safe a number of times, what if genuinely he didn't know that we needed a 2-1 with yo qualify? Even Yobo came out to say they didn't know they needed that, maybe the logistics team of the NFF told him something different? Oh you didn't think that one, but if Rohr fields a suspended Shehu then it is the fault of the NFF abi? Double standards Oga, double standards. I'd rather not reveal all the secrets that I know about that particular period like the reason why Odewinge was missing open nets because it is rather personal, however the real blame should be going to the NFF for not properly educating the coach. |

Given any player a free pass to the World Cup without even telling him he has some competition is the dumbest thing we ever did. We rolled a red carpet with lots of confetti on it. ChrisKels: |

Nobody thinks he will play for us. It’s all wishful thinking. The point is he is on fire. But IF EVER he rescinds his decision in this our current circumstance, my bro na open arms oh. But just to put some of U on memory lane I was one of those who strongly mocked Tammy when he was firing blanks. Make una talk am as it is all the time. ChrisKels: |

Mickael2:The fact is that in 2012 he had every chance of still qualifying the team for that AFCON. All this talk about he didn't lose any game is rubbish. In group qualifiers most times a draw is just as bad as a loss. He drew away to Ethiopia and at home to Guinea. Had he won either of these games we would have qualified. IMO he would have probably lost away to Guinea too. |

When a wishful thinking aint feasible, it is nothing but a reverie, a delusion. No serious fellow dwells in fantasies. ChrisKels:I did not see that post. Who doesn't know Tammy chose England over us?? Edit - I replied that comment based on his form and IF he'd change his mind like Ameobi did. Me saying he's good enough to make the AFCON squad is merely acknowledging how good dude is...nothing more, nothing less. |

TheGoodJoe:Not a big fan of how we play sometimes under Rohr, but you can't say he's planning short term because he plays a conservative style of football. Whatever you want to say about Rohr, one thing is for certain - he's a good man manager and great at organization. I wish he could be a bit more adventurous - but I wouldn't go as far as saying he isn't into long term gains because he doesn't play expansive football. |

Icon4s:I think in the game against Germany, a friendly where Ike Shorunmu sustained an injury to his hand was what caused our problems in France 98. Our goalkeeping problems was glaring but the recall of Rufai was catastrophic. I would have still preferred Abiodun Baruwa to Rufai. However, we preferred an aging Rufai. |
