Ajibel:I'm not ashamed to say that Fashola is the only politician dead or alive today that I admire - by Ajibel You are forgiven for making a reckless declaration like the one above, celebrating mediocrity and a one eyed man in the land of the blind and ignoring the strides and foundations laid down by giants like LKJ. Give Babatunde Olalere Gbadamosi of Action Democratic Party (ADP) an inch and see how much miles he will take Lagos State to |

Muttleylaff, Muttleylaff, Muttleylaff. Anyway, I retired from having long arguments on the Internet in 2014, but I have 2 related questions for you and then I'm done with the thread. 1) In your opinion, was there anything that Jakande did wrong when he was governor (no ifs and buts) and can you explain what that thing was? 2) In your opinion, was there anything that Fashola did right when he was governor (no ifs and buts) and can you explain what that thing was? Take care. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Dantedasz: People also sweated and set the foundation of Jakande's government. He didn't come in and met nothing. |

MuttleyLaff: And I've asked you that if Gbadamosi gets there, won't he also steal? Won't he also inflate contract? Is there a politician who's a Saint? Are they not all thieves? Until we have a system that can act as a check and balance, I trust no politicians. |

MuttleyLaff: You believe Jakande made giant strides in Lagos. When he made those giant strides, were other states making such giant strides too or should we say Pa Jakande was also a one eyed man in the land of the blind? But you believe Fash is overrated and did nothing. Fashola built 5 IPPs in Lagos, was that nothing to you? Fashola built the Lekki ikoyi link bridge that is now a signature for Lagos, does that mean nothing to you? Fashola revamped and improved the conditions of Oshodi which was a nightmare, was that insignificant to you? All his achievements while in government is well documented on his personal website tundefashola.com 1 Like 1 Share |

Ajibel: Abeg, stop dignifying that sentimental biased soul with a response . . . probably, Fashola snatched his wife or refused to pay his school fees, hence the bile. Even his basic argument is so disjointed. APC basically rode on Fashola's sole successes to power (federal, state, and local). 1 Like |

luvmijeje:Babatunde Olalere Gbadamosi of Action Democratic Party (ADP) has no political godfather he is answerable to, so why would he want to steal, why would he want to inflate contracts. Say no to feudalism. Lagos State has been turned into one greedy man's cash cow luvmijeje:The Nigerian Compass on Saturday had last week exclusively reported that Jakande, whose record of performance in the state is yet to be matched by succeeding governments 30 years after, was not being paid the jumbo package by the state government. In an interview with the newspaper, Jakande had also stated unequivocally, that he would not even accept the jumbo pay if offered because, according to him, it is "excessive and obscene" Under the law, a former Governor and Deputy Governor of the state will receive equal pays with the incumbent holders of the office. The former Governor will be entitled to a house each in Lagos and Abuja, at a location of his choice, and will have six official vehicles and a retinue of domestic aides. In another interview with this paper on Wednesday this week, Alhaji Jakande restated his belief that the pay package, is wasteful and a drain on the state's purse. After enquiring if any such law exists anywhere else in the world, he lapsed into Yoruba language, saying: "Ki lawon Omo wonyi fe so aye dabayi?"meaning: "What are these children turning the world into?" Alhaji Jakande queried further: "How can an ex-Governor be on the same salary with the incumbent?" He had said last week: "I have not benefited from this bill. I am not interested in it. My own attitude is that God has given me what I consider to be a good pension. That pension, to me, is the appreciation of my service to Nigerians, even non-Nigerians. "My view on the bill is that it a waste of public funds. The appreciations I received daily from people are enough for me as my pension. This I will cherish till I die." luvmijeje:My eyes took a double take and my heart bled reading the above and this your other remark here and I felt like raining curses on each and everyone of those that allowed us end up like this. luvmijeje, please bookmark these following links for later reading at your most convenient time: 1/ https://www.vanguardngr.com/2009/07/why-i-refused-to-quit-abacha-govt-jakande-at-80-opens-up/ 2/ https://www.dailytrust.com.ng/legendary-lateef-jakande-modest-life-in-retirement.html luvmijeje:Did you know that Nigeria's western region civil service in the 1960s was the envy of sub-Saharan Africa, if not the whole of Africa then. This is part of the changes Babatunde Olalere Gbadamosi of Action Democratic Party (ADP) plans to bring back to Lagos State Ajibel:Yes, all other states were making similar strides too. Case in point, Bisi Onabanjo in Ogun State, Adekunle Ajasin in Ondo State and Bola Ige in Oyo State. Ajibel:I said he is overrated, I wasnt the only person who've said this about Fashola, I wasnt the first person to say this about him and I am quite sure I wouldnt be the last person to say he is overrated, but it's baffling how you managed to invent a remark and fabricate that I believe Fashola did nothing, when all I mentioned is that he is overrated. I then followed up with list me Fashola legacies that Lagos State are satisfactorily and without reservations enjoying. The keywords were "satisfactorily and without reservations enjoying" Ajibel:Again, the keywords were "satisfactorily and without reservations enjoying" Now Ajibel, do you know how many years Alhaji Lateef Kayode Jakande served as governor of Lagos State for, compared to Tinubu's 8 years and Fashola's another 8 years, a total of 16 years of APC squeezing, exploitation and bondage, not adding Ambode's? I can present you a list of LKJ's achievements in that short period to contrast the dividend of democracy with that of APC's 16 years Ajibel:I know, I am sure they are well documented on his personal website, and thats why the 8 years achievements makes him strut upandan the place like a prized peacock 989900:You can clutch at straws as long as you'll like to. I dont give a fairk. All I am for, is what is right for Lagos State. PDP nor APC is right for Lagos State. Babatunde Olalere Gbadamosi of Action Democratic Party (ADP) is best hand for Lagos State is all I am saying. 1 Like |

naptu2:I promise, I'll only read and wont reply back to your response(s) to my answer(s) luvmijeje:This is how arguments come about, and that's from exchange of opinions. I never do arguments and I prefer to state facts rather than give opinion(s) but on this occasion, will make an exception to that stance, so here goes: 1) In your opinion, was there anything that Jakande did wrong when he was governor (no ifs and buts) and can you explain what that thing was? 1/ In my opinion, and I am typing this with utmost respect, admiration and a heavy heart, I cant find anything that Alhaji Lateef Kayode Jakande, a simple, selfless, humble, public-spirited and/or serving others man did wrong when he was governor of Lagos State and because of no ifs and buts, then so, have no wrong he did, to explain about. 2) In your opinion, was there anything that Fashola did right when he was governor (no ifs and buts) and can you explain what that thing was? 2/ I know, to be a fact that Fashola did the right thing of trying to get off the albatross around his neck. Yes, I can explain that the albatross thing, is polithiefician land-grabber Tinubu. Ambode, tried too, but it cost him dearly, his second tenure. Unlike Fashola who survived, he didnt. There is fire on the mountain, he is not just denied a second tenure but now is being told to resign or be impeached. Rubbing salt into injury cc luvmijeje 1 Like |
