first year we did in nsukka, the next 18month will b in unec(university of nigeria enugu campus)
after the 2mb u move to UNTH for ur clinical

Today, I'm going to do a review of the textbooks used for ANATOMY. Note that this might vary from University to University, So whatever I say here is based on my own university (OOU), but however it is similar in most Nigerian Universities
Let's get started
CLINICALLY ORIENTED ANATOMY by KEITH MOORE
Well, this was the first book I purchased when I got to Medical school, So large a book, probably the largest Anatomy textbook you'll use, It is from an English author, hence, the use of English is superb, Over here, it is the most popular book, cause it is very detailed, I call it Almighty Keith Moore. A lot of information reside in this book that you might spend close to an hour reading just 10 pages (not to scare you), it also has good use of diagrams but it has a fault most people noticed, it doesn't place emphasis on any information, so you just read without knowing what to put more attention to and what to read lightly, that's why some people in my school prefer the next book I'm about to talk about. This book sells for around 8,000 over here

BD CHAURASIA HUMAN ANATOMY
well, this is a very nice and precise book, of an Indian Author, so the English used is moderate and average, the difference between this book and Keith Moore is that while Keith Moore could write a paragraph about a topic, this book would write it as bullet points and explain it briefly. Keith Moore would give you everything about a topic, but this would give you all you need to know, And it is very effective as there is limited time to study as a Medical Student and it's not only Anatomy you're doing. But personally, I only use Chaurasia when I've read it on Keith Moore first. The textbook sells for around 13,000 naira

LAST ANATOMY
well, this is a book for bosses, if you try to read this book without prior knowledge, you'll feel Anatomy is very hard, But an amazing thing about this book is that it has a lot of 'stuffs', things that they ommited in other textbooks seem to be here, in my own opinion, this book is for Professionals in the field or for students that wants to revise before the Examination. The textbook sells for around 5,000 naira

GRAYS ANATOMY
I personally haven't used this book so much, and I didn't even purchase it, I use the PDF, but with the little I've used, it has amazing graphics, Nice stuffs, overall it is a very nice book.

But, you know, you might run into problem when you're combining a lot of textbooks, cause there is limited time and using multiple is like time wasting and information might just begin to become confusing to you as most textbook have varying information, A textbook can call a value 1.0 and another can call it 1.01, so when you have like 4 values in your head and you're asked during Incourse, you get confused. But it is advisable to use the textbook your lecturer prefers

You could also get a nice ATLAS for diagrams and over here I use Netter's Atlas and my experience with the book has been so wonderful.
How are you guys doing? And How is preparation for resumption

Well I've been in school since January irrespective of the strike, you know as medical students, you need to read a lot and we had some tutorials throughout the strike

But, I know that over here, it is impossible to change from another course to Medicine except another JAMB is taken.

Depends on your college. There are other physiology textbooks; Guyton and Sembuligham

So happy writing here....School schedule has been kinda tight, so I didn't even have any kinda spare time to write here, but I promise to work on how often I deliver contents here. Guys, Pray for me o....I'm having Anatomy Incourse(examination) on March 7th....Thats like my second Anatomy Incourse but I'm still scared in a way

I would be telling you guys how my last week was in the Medical school
So, Monday, A very stressful day as all the lecturers have gone to renew themselves, well, for that day, we had histology, and as usual the Man gave us impossible assignments, and owing to the Strike Factor, Most lecturers would love to rush us and make us do impossible things, Ohhhhhhhhh, I forgot, Histology is a sub course under Anatomy, which basically deals with Cells, tissues, Identification of tissues, types of tissues etc. Well, what's a Medical school without a Library, though, I'm not really a Library person but the free periods we had made me consider the option.
On Tuesday, lol, Cadaver day, we don't take our normal classes in Sagamu, we do it in Ikenne, where our dissection room is also situated, Well, by now, most of us have already gotten over our fright for the cadaver, I didn't even go with Nose Mask or gloves, was really tired that day, I slept off in the room, and you know, a lot of Medical students like work, so they were actively busy butchering... Sorry Dissecting,... Classes finished and we had a very tough search for transport to Sagamu under the rain
Wednesday, Thursday Friday, was almost free days for reasons I don't know, most of our lecturers didn't show up, but which student does not like Free day
Yes, Medical Students too have fun, By the evening of Friday, OOUMSA (our Departmental organisation) organized a Social Night, though it was 5-10, but we had so much fun, Movies, Games, PS4, A lot of stuffs, and Dance Mehnn... Really fun, but then, I had to trek home cause I couldn't get bike since it was late
So here am I, about to Happy New Month Guys

My first Dissecting session didn't meet my expectations. The cadavers made available for us were so... Don't know how to describe but I will say they have lost all human features. So stiff and dried up. We were not able to appreciate any structure. I don't know if it's the norm in medicine school or its just a case of bad circumstance
