Good Evening All

I submitted my mum's app for renewal since 19th Dec. Last Friday, 25th Jan it changed to Administrative processing.

Till today, it is yet to change to either Issued or the other way(Refusal or 221g).

I have also checked the cgifederal.secure.force.com website, there is no notification for a 221g interview.

I have called the embassy and they have confirmed that the passport is still with them.

Has anyone experienced this length of delay?

which is strong ID again now? Use your international passport. That's what I used for all paper works that required ID.

I am still trying to get a hang on it myself. I've sent an email with the following information

The Comptroller General
Nigeria Immigration Service
Nigeria Immigration Service Head Quarters
Abuja.

APPLICATION FOR VISA ON ARRIVAL

I wish to apply for Visa on Arrival for my infant son. His details are as stated below:

Name:

Passport number:

Address:

Date of Arrival:

Port of Entry:

Airline:

Please find required documents attached: His passport bio, my passport bio, hubby's passport bio, travel itinerary.

I've still not gotten any acknowledgement and this is the 2nd time I've sent this mail. I called and they said I still have plenty time but the lack of mail acknowledgement troubling. Does it take up to 24hrs to get an acknowledgement?

@babestell use this format for your baby's visa on arrival application.

Hello mamas. I just returned from my missionary journey in Texas. I'm not settled yet so I won't be able to give details. I want to thank all the contributors on this forum. I learnt a lot from this family and it was a life saver. This is just to drop a few tips. As we know, being truthful at the poe is key. My experience was a breeze as nothing was checked, but it's better to go prepared. Ensure you have received your confirmation email for approved visa on arrival, else, your baby won't be allowed to travel if you are using emirates. If you have the option of not staying with family, please take it especially if not close family. (This varies though) . I wish every one well; those on the journey and those about to join.

Good day Chanbaby, so sorry I have mot heard time to get to this forum in the past week. I noticed you have got approval for your baby's VOA Application. That's enough for you to board. Don't bother yourself on the online application for VOA, just make sure you have a printed copy of the approval and a visa card to pay when you land in Naija. There are so many ambiguities in that form that you can easily lose your money paid online. As for me I paid with my Bank of America card when I landed in Lagos so I think you should just do the same and stop botgering yourself with the online application. Note I love doing all my things online if it's more convenient and most of the time it is but ib this case, their instructions alone is enough to keep you off. Congratulations to you that they replied you within 48hrs, in my case I got a reply 2 days to my departure date after over10 days that I applied. Good luck. And congrats on tge arrival of your LO.

Hi
I would advice if it's an ivf baby to leave before 36 weeks to avoid stories that touches the heart.
Most ivf babies are delivered via c.s cos they are termed "special babies". And this is to avoid any complications during delivery.

Anubaby:
Good evening,
I’ll like to know if it makes sense to travel at 36weeks and deliver at 37weeks?
Do pregnancies from IVF have to be delivered via CS?
Thank you.

Hello people, I have a question below this summary.

I gave birth last year with a B1/B2 visa, and my visa expired recently.
Now I am about renewing to attend a training session in the US. But I also intend to use the visa for birthing again in the event that I get pregnant within the next two years.

is there anywhere I can specify that it is for both training/vacation and to give birth in the future, in the event that it recommends dropbox for the renewal?

If you actually declare your intention during your first visa issued, no need to bother about specifying your intention again. Just put b1/B2. But if you did not, that’s where the problem lies. I don’t know what you can do in that scenario

Since you are going for a training.....I would say it is better for you to schedule an interview straight up (you can do this at the stage of appointment booking when it asks the question if you want to forfeit your right to interview waiver).

Most people who gave birth and did drop box were still called for 221g interview after several weeks delay. Also I hear the 221g interview date cannot be rescheduled.

Another advantage of interview is it allows you to tell them that you may want to use the visa for childbirth later. There is no way of indicating this on the form and change of intent letter in the future may get you called for interview as well....if the current practice continues

Good morning,

Our visa wasn't renewed after our 221g interview because the VO wasn't convinced of what my husband spent 6 months doing in the US during his last trip. This affected me as it was a joint application, he however mentioned that we can reapply.

I have tried applying alone but date is after 6 months due to the initial refusal.

My question is Can I schedule the available date and then request for a rescheduled or expedite appointment on medical basis. My ds160 form request is for B2 visa.

Your suggestions will greatly help me as I need to travel by 1st week in March based on Dr advise cos of high risk pregnancy.

Thank you for your help.

Not exactly true, she can still go ahead with Dropbox. If or when they do eventually call her for 221g, she can mention other intentions.

When my wife was called for same, the VO asked her if at any point within the two years of valid visa, she gets pregnant, would she give birth in the US again? Of course she answered in the affirmative. Guess what, she got it.

My opinion is that dropbox can waste one's time if there is a training to attend and the possibility of a 221g interview and the date for that....which may delay her processing....if she went for the Dropbox option.

....not sure which part of the post you're referring to as being untrue.....

Permit me to speak/ask freely?
What was oga doing in the US for 6months, was he pregnant as well?
There are so many odds against us which is the more reason people ought to be extra careful and not give these VOs reasons to doubt our credibility or chop our $160 just like that.

I travelled with wife and toddler in August, spent 2wks+ and returned to work, then went back again in November to take everyone home while spending another 2wks+. My point, don't give em reasons to think you are idle back home or planning to relocate.

Him try sef to just be there for a whole 6months. After two weeks , I usually get bored not working or smth.

Well, he gave explanation that it was both business and vacation trip which made him spend some time.

I was sick that day and declared that I was also considering giving birth in the US after conceiving after over 10 years of marriage and having a high risk pregnancy.

VO said US has high mortality rate and that I could go to England, South Africa etc and that cost of birthing is high.

Me: Am not aware of the mortality rate he mentioned and stated we could afford the treatment. Was bringing out docs from my Employer and account statement but he objected to seeing any doc.

VO: How long will I be staying?

Me: about 3 months as I have to travel early because of Drs advise latest 28 weeks. Hubby will take me now and come back when the baby comes.

VO: Am sorry and hands over the blue paper but said we can reapply and that this is a joint application so he isn't convinced with hubby's explanation.

This is my reason for applying alone this time around.

Also, should I apply with my mum or separately for her as I will require assistance when the baby comes due to CS mode to be used.

Lastly, if am able to get the visa within the timeline? Assuming I got the visa using Houston hospital but went to another location to birth due to family support though at a higher cost. I have appointment and Bill from Dr Fagbohun already.

Thank you for your suggestions.

You are free to express your opinion. Note that this was 2017 and we weren't pregnant at that point.

There is no law against staying for the period which he was stamped in for and didn't overstay. Also, the view of the VO is valid and this can be viewed from different perspectives which will not be wrong.

What suggestion do you have for me in regards to the question asked?

Thank you

Plan B already in motion, however if I can expedite appointment on basis of medical travel that would be beneficial. Otherwise I will take my time to renew when needed.
