TheGoodJoe:Man City's dominance was down to Arsenal's abysmal play today. Do you think any other team in the EPL will come into a match against City and practically play their CFs as midfeidlers just so they can park the bus? Fernadinho was not even tested at CB neither was Laporte and you think that is down to Man City's dominance? Meanwhile everywhere else Lacazzete and Auba has better ratings that Iwobi except in your own books. The two of them put in a tremendous shift, playing as midfielders just to keep City at bay. |

Earthquake1:Did you know Iwobi was not a defender today? We had I think Leichsteiner there to defend there? Do you know most of our attacks came from that wing because of Sterling played there and that was the direction of our attack. Did you see Aubameyang defending as much as Iwobi which showed the young man's work rate for the team? Iwobi gets the stick when he was helping support a defender who was getting overrun by City. Now Leichsteiner's position is Iwobi’s flank. |

TheGoodJoe:Skysports rating : Leno (7), Lichtsteiner (6), Kolasinac (7), Mustafi (6), Monreal (6), Koscielny (7), Torreira (6), Guendouzi (7), Iwobi (5), Aubameyang (6), Lacazette (7) Somehow you are telling me that Iwobi was the fourth best player on the pitch. Bro that is sentiments from you and nothing else |

Mickael2:Not true. Manchester City's dominance was down to the phenomenal work rate and intensity we played with today. Very free teams can cope with it. By the way, why won't Lacazette and Aubameyang have better ratings. How many of them were working hard for the team to match the ferocious attack of City? |

TheGoodJoe:You were praising Iwobi for his defensive contributions and I pointed out that the two goals came from his flank and you remember he is not a defender ![]() You must be a master at deflecting blames, I remember you blaming Rohr and Puel for Iheanacho shambolic performances Goodnight ![]() |

Mickael2:Where did you get best player? Work rate. Tell me how many players apart from Guendozi and Toreira put in the kind of work rate Iwobi showed for the team? The young man ran his socks off. The poor rating is for his dispossession in defence. No one said Iwobi was phenomenal. I said his work rate was brilliant which is not counted. |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 11:21pm On Feb 03, 2019 |
Earthquake1:Did you not watch the game and see how much work Iwobi put in. For Christ sake, there was a wing back there. What was his job? It is only Iwobi the will see. |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Earthquake1: 11:22pm On Feb 03, 2019 |
TheGoodJoe:I'm going to get his distances, let me see how you'll defend that one ![]() |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Mickael2(m): 11:22pm On Feb 03, 2019 |
TheGoodJoe:According to whoscored both attempted more tackles than Iwobi, I doubt if they were just sitting down in City's box they could have achieved that. By the way the average rating of City players is 7/10. After watching this game you'd think that City players would be averaging 8/10 but when you look at the stats you will understand. |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 11:23pm On Feb 03, 2019 |
Mickael2:Yes. It was definitely down to our brilliant dominance. |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 11:25pm On Feb 03, 2019 |
Mickael2:How many times did you see Aubameyang and Lacazette in defence? It was Iwobi doing that. Will attempted tackles show how many times they were in defence. Arsenal team were blown away due to Manchester City's brilliance. Not Iwobi. The point is too simple. Finito. |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 11:27pm On Feb 03, 2019 |
Mickael2:I thought it was Iwobi that was only poor. Or Lacazette and Aubameyang were brilliant without testing Fernandinho and Laporte. Please. |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Mickael2(m): 11:28pm On Feb 03, 2019 |
TheGoodJoe:Iwobi and Auba made the same number of tackles(1), Lacazzete had more interceptions than Iwobi(3, Iwobi had none, nothing). Clearances Iwobi zero, blocked shot Iwobi zero, easily that worst player on the pitch, maybe with that dude from Juve but no way did he put in more than Auba and Lacazzete |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Mickael2(m): 11:29pm On Feb 03, 2019 |
TheGoodJoe:If you get passes you will test the players. Auba and Lacazzete had to play as midfielders because there was no connection. Who was supposed to be the creative outlet? Iwobi abi and he failed woefully at it |

It seems a lot of people do not understand work rate. Look at Aubameyang for instance. We hardly saw him in defence although in the first half he had some good track backs. However, we saw Iwobi in defence, down the flanks, he won the ball in the defensive midfield position that almost led to a goal, and also headed towards forward in the game. They were few players working this hard for the Arsenal side. People are free to tear down players but see some good in the players performance. Not just shouting average, average. |

TheGoodJoe:Haba mana gaskiya ni? Why would strikers be in the box? Naturally Iwobi is the LM(M stands for midfielder) it is natural for him to get into the box but why would Auba and Lacazzete be in the box when they are strikers waiting for a counter ![]() |

TheGoodJoe:Do you think whoscored does not consider work rate in their ratings? You are being totally sentimental, maybe only you saw the extraterrestrial work rate |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 11:33pm On Feb 03, 2019 |
Mickael2:That is it. Very easy for you to say zero this zero that. Why not talk about the time Iwobi won the ball and gave a build up pass that almost led to a goal. I guess you will be oblivious to that. Did you see the position Iwobi was when he pulled that? Far from the right hand side of the Arsenal team. That shows the work rate. Not clearance and block shot. Heck. The young man was not a defender in the game. It was his work rate that is creating the impression. That shows how hard he worked. Explain why there was acres of space for Silva when Iwobi went out. |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 11:34pm On Feb 03, 2019 |
Mickael2:I am asking you, did you not watch the game. Was Iwobi’s work rate in the game not brilliant? I will say it again. After Toreira and Guendozi, Iwobi was next for Arsenal in work rate. |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Mickael2(m): 11:36pm On Feb 03, 2019 |
TheGoodJoe:Apart from one random guy who probably followed the game online or something, nobody else thinks Iwobi was a defender. He was just chasing the ball and not winning it back? So what is the point? |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Mickael2(m): 11:38pm On Feb 03, 2019 |
TheGoodJoe:And I am telling you that in their own way Auba and Lacazzete put in a tremendous shift too. As a striker if you track back it should be into the midfield but if a midfielder tracks back then it has to be into his box. Auba and Lacazzete kept on tracking back into midfield and actually doing something useful when they track back. |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 11:38pm On Feb 03, 2019 |
Mickael2:Arsenal played 3-4-3 Today. It was due to the defensive formation that had Iwobi having to stay in defence to help Arsenal deal with the pressure of City. What you are seeing in WhoScored.com is like the average position, due to Iwobi dropping to help deal with Sterling's runs. So the other players did not put in as much work as the three I pointed in the game. That deserves praise. |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 11:40pm On Feb 03, 2019 |
Mickael2:But you saw the question that the goal came from Iwobi’s flank. Also, Iwobi who is a forward in the game losing the ball led to City's first goal. That shows the work Iwobi was putting for the team. The point is too simple. |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Danielnino00(m): 11:40pm On Feb 03, 2019 |
Mickael2:Biased rating IMO.. Litchensteiner should be the worst.. His lack of creativity coupled with the fact that he drifted away from his wing to the centre made it all worse for Iwobi... |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Mickael2(m): 11:41pm On Feb 03, 2019 |
TheGoodJoe:Even Auba and Lacazzete moved into midfield, that is them tracking back, expecting them to move into defense is not possible. In fact at some point Lacazzete's average position was behind that of Kolasinac, that means Lacazzete on the average occupied a more defensive position than Kolasinac, the full back. |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 11:43pm On Feb 03, 2019 |
Mickael2:They put in their shift but they did not work half as hard as Iwobi who was repeatedly back to deal with the waves of attack of City. Toreira and Guendozi were. Next was Iwobi. Keep in mind the other two were defensive midfielders. Give it to Iwobi. He worked his socks off. As soon as he left, that wing was open. I can not remember the Arsenal player who put his hand up complaining about the repeated space giving to David Silva. |

TheGoodJoe:For goodness sake Arsenal was defending, Iwobi was not inside the box, he was at the edge of the box trying to hold off Laporte which is what a RM does, the FB goes with the WF while the RM sticks with the opposing full back, there is nothing new about it, how is that down to work rate ![]() |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Mickael2(m): 11:44pm On Feb 03, 2019 |
Danielnino00:True, I would have him on 5 with Iwobi but probably becsue he didn't have a direct hand in any goal. Although you could point out his fault for that second goal. |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 11:44pm On Feb 03, 2019 |
Mickael2:They did not have to deal with as much pressure as Iwobi, hence they did not put in as much work rate as Iwobi. The point is too simple. Iwobi put in more work than most players on that field. |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Danielnino00(m): 11:44pm On Feb 03, 2019 |
Left to me, Iwobi is a player with great potentials but his biggest problems are lack of consistency and his decision making.. Those problems didn't start today..They have been there for long and its quite sad to see that he hasn't worked on it. |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Mickael2(m): 11:46pm On Feb 03, 2019 |
TheGoodJoe:They did not work half as hard as Iwobi yet they got better defensive numbers than Iwobi. So it is either Iwobi was running around like a headless chicken in defence, all running no end product or Iwobi didn't work hasl as hard as they did. So which one is it?? Don't tell me he was covering spaces, because if you cover spaces you must have at least one interception bro |
