Iwobi gets the stick when he was helping support a defender who was getting overrun by City. Now Leichsteiner's position is Iwobi’s flank.

According to whoscored both attempted more tackles than Iwobi, I doubt if they were just sitting down in City's box they could have achieved that.

By the way the average rating of City players is 7/10. After watching this game you'd think that City players would be averaging 8/10 but when you look at the stats you will understand.

They were few players working this hard for the Arsenal side.

People are free to tear down players but see some good in the players performance.

Iwobi and Auba made the same number of tackles(1), Lacazzete had more interceptions than Iwobi(3, Iwobi had none, nothing). Clearances Iwobi zero, blocked shot Iwobi zero, easily that worst player on the pitch, maybe with that dude from Juve but no way did he put in more than Auba and Lacazzete

Far from the right hand side of the Arsenal team. That shows the work rate. Not clearance and block shot. Heck. The young man was not a defender in the game. It was his work rate that is creating the impression. That shows how hard he worked.

Explain why there was acres of space for Silva when Iwobi went out.

Arsenal played 3-4-3 Today. It was due to the defensive formation that had Iwobi having to stay in defence to help Arsenal deal with the pressure of City.

What you are seeing in WhoScored.com is like the average position, due to Iwobi dropping to help deal with Sterling's runs.

So the other players did not put in as much work as the three I pointed in the game. That deserves praise.

As a striker if you track back it should be into the midfield but if a midfielder tracks back then it has to be into his box. Auba and Lacazzete kept on tracking back into midfield and actually doing something useful when they track back.

Biased rating IMO.. Litchensteiner should be the worst.. His lack of creativity coupled with the fact that he drifted away from his wing to the centre made it all worse for Iwobi...

Even Auba and Lacazzete moved into midfield, that is them tracking back, expecting them to move into defense is not possible. In fact at some point Lacazzete's average position was behind that of Kolasinac, that means Lacazzete on the average occupied a more defensive position than Kolasinac, the full back.

They put in their shift but they did not work half as hard as Iwobi who was repeatedly back to deal with the waves of attack of City. Toreira and Guendozi were. Next was Iwobi. Keep in mind the other two were defensive midfielders.

Give it to Iwobi. He worked his socks off. As soon as he left, that wing was open. I can not remember the Arsenal player who put his hand up complaining about the repeated space giving to David Silva.
