oga, you saw it, I actually join the game about some minutes into the game, and iwobi was stuck, trying to defend and defend, I thought he was playing wing back... Man city made arsenal stay put in their half... I was thoroughly embarrassed for arsenal, they were totally outplayed in all departments..

I just hope City can maintain the work ethic and Kevin De Bruyne needs to up his game. I do not blame Iwobi because the pressure was just too much.

No sane person would blame iwobi for that goal
How can you call yourself a defender and you fail to clear your line rather you had to pass your winger who was choked!!!

Please cut iwobi some slack here!!!!!!

If you're referring to Man City's first goal, Iwobi was responsible. It wasn't a very good idea for him to try and nutmeg a defender that close to his own goal post.
That doesn't mean I've lost hope in him. It's not always about stats. Sometimes you just watch certain players and you can see future-world class footballer written all over them. As of now Iwobi isn't an elite footballer, but he certainly has the "It factor". The way he slits the ball in windows with perfect timing and smoothly maneuvers with the ball at his age is amazing. And I don't Nigeria to lose that because we hastily threw him to the wayside.

The greatest footballers have gone through rough patches when things weren't clicking on the field for them. Messi played woefully in the 2018 World Cup, that doesnt stop him from being one of the 5 best footballers breathing today.

I think it's clear that some people here just wait for opportunities to pull down our players...

We all know the truth grin

According to someone like mickeal2. Puel is doing a great job, and he his conservative style isn't to be blamed for iheanacho's predicament, afterall he is getting results, then he turns around in another argument to say, rohr is a bad tactician, and his conservative style is affecting the team play, we should forget his results..

What double standards, heh.. Lol..

Some of us, don't have the time to always argue here, but we started following this thread from the first day , and used to be active on this section, even before this thread was created , even before some of you joined or knew nairaland, now we are just serial readers, contributing opinions anytime we can.. I am just highlighting this fact, so someone here would not think that because he is always available here to argue and debate topics, he wouldn't be floored, if some of us decided to actually engage..

We are all learning at the end of the day..

I had actually decided that I wouldn't reply again but I have to correct this nonsensical and downright stupid comment, no offence.

Now Puel is not my manager and I have not for once said he is a fantastic coach, people just said he should be sacked and I rightly asked the rationale behind sacking a coach who is comfortable in midtable, then y'all said he is the reason why Iheanacho has been poor then I asked why other players like Madison and Vardy are scoring and assisting, picking up great stats under him. Leicester city actually play some very good football on their day, like the match against Liverpool, the match agaibst Man U today they created at least three good chances and factually matched Manchester United. He is not a brilliant coach I wouldn't argue with that at all but if you tell me he is going to be sacked I will tell you that you are wrong and that is true.

Then down to Rohr. I do not like having to run him down again but you asked for it. As a matter of fact after typing the explanation about Puel I figured out it was a waste of my precious time actually replying your comment. Rohr is not a good tactician everybody knows that, the extra problem which I always hang on to is that when coach's stand up to be counted Rohr will always be found wanting. For goodness sake I have used this line over and over again, Leicester is getting results against top team while we lay down flat for average Argentina at the world cup and we have to park the bus against South Africa. I am really disappointed you made this comparisons but then again I guess I need to put you in a level lower than you currently are in my books so I won't be too disappointed next time

A Northern Muslim bigot unleashed state terror on your tribesmen and you come here to support it. An Igbo hating Fulani tags IPOB which has never killed a single person a terrorist organization and you're defending him. You must not be an IPOB member but the least you can do is to keep your filthy mouth shut and talk about what you know.

Shame on you. Your ancestors are ashamed of you. Shame on you again. You are no brother of mine.
shut up, when that idiot tribalist came on here to spew nonsense insulting other tribes, you didn’t say nothing. If you guys wanna turn this thread to something else, ima do that for y’all. Moreover you call yourself Igbo and you are religiously castigating nacho as if that’s your purpose in life. If you can hate nacho (igbo) without any viable reason, you are not different from edi Guy castigating that tribalist idiot. Your ancestors are ashamed of you too. Shame on you. Every league is unique in their own way. Once Suarez adapts, and stats prove him okay, then you can now begin to say such when comparing him and iwobi pls. Its just simple!!

So I should not criticize a poor player simply because he comes from my tribe?.

Can you see how tribalistic your mentality is?

grin grin I was having a serious migraine yesterday so imagine my surprise when I saw the comment

First of all what does Puel and Rohr have to do with our debate yesterday?

Then he totally took all I said about Puel out of context. All I have said is that Leicester will not sack Puel because he is getting them results, that does not mean I like their style of play. Then I also said that if Madison and Vardy are scoring and assisting and playing well under Puel then Iheanacho should not be using it as an excuse.

Thankfully this morning I have already forgotten about it so it is back to normal. At the end of the day we all support the SE

Yes, I just hope they get the world cup ticket, then go to display their wares out there. I love that CB pairing. The midfield is somewhat a joke, the attack lacks cutting edges though that winger called new Musa looks promising. So far, the only positive is the CBs and goalkeeper, considering the dearth of quality young CBs and goalkeepers in Nigeria now.

The coach said he is still looking at other players that he couldn't get bkus the competition is out of the fifa window. He specifically mentioned Jaden's elder brother Keagan of Gladbach, Nnamdi Oforburh plus Dele Bashiru. I believe these three would add steel to that midfield, in that defense, that boy from West Brom would be a good addition. Then, I hope that Atalanta new young CB is also under his watch.

Not to also forget Orji Okonkwo, Kingsley Michael and Samuel Chukwueze (if available). If we can cap tie Josh Maja we can also throw him in to join the attack.

Somehow you are telling me that Iwobi was the fourth best player on the pitch. Bro that is sentiments from you and nothing else

If you get passes you will test the players. Auba and Lacazzete had to play as midfielders because there was no connection. Who was supposed to be the creative outlet? Iwobi abi and he failed woefully at it
Iwobi, creative outlet? Are you sure you watch the game. Iwobi's role today was to help Lichtensteiner out. If he was used as the creative outlet ,he would have play on the left.

Average players can not pass like Iwobi.
Average players do not have Iwobi’s kind of work rate.
Average players can not pull off the kind of dribbles Iwobi does. Heck. He is starting while Ozil and Ramsey benches. Ever wondered why? Or is Ozil average?

I didn't see this.

Thank you my broda

I don't know what anyone will gain in pulling down a player

Some set of people are happy nacho is not doing well and that's no more a news

Now their new motive is to see iwobi down

So making an error in football is now a death sentence ?

Anyway thank God unai emery believes in iwobi and the boy have been having a good season If I may say.

Some people can't stand the fact that iwobi is still playing for Arsenal ,some of them said he will not play under unai emery ,I didn't remember the moniker sha

The boy has played 22 Epl games 2 goals and 4 assist .

in my opinion, no pun intended... I think you just try to swing the pendulum to where it suits you, when trying to antagonize our players, You should try to stick to a standard...

You say Leicester gets results against top teams, but then they go on to loose to teams like like Cardiff, crystal palace, Southampton, fulham.... Lol, what's your argument about??..

Argentina??, Nigeria.. My man nobody expects Nigeria to beat Argentina on a normal day, so I don't know what you are on about, but well, what do I expect from someone who said we couldn't beat Algeria, Cameroon, someone who comes to say we were outplayed after beating Libya home and away...

Iwobi have been better than Ozil this season doesn't mean iwobi is a better player than Ozil in general

it's pure sentiment to say iwobi is an above average player, so as it is which serious top tier club will have iwobi starting week in week out? iwobi's stat is poor and he's been Arsenal's chief creator. if arsenal is looking to raise funds and want to sell their stars, do they think iwobi will go for 35-40mill? I dey vex sef that Emery have turn iwobi to our chief creator he's at best good as a supporting cast
