Hi guys, my undergraduate course is chemistry and I graduated with CGPA of 2.46, I want to apply to Southern Illinois university Edwardsville and Illinois state university for masters in chemistry. Please what is my chance here? I need advice because I know my CGPA is poor. You guys response will be valuable to me.
Thanks

2.46 is third class. Mehn I won't advice you to waste application fee in those schools cos they won't admit you with that grade and they don't require GRE for that chemistry, GRE would have supplemented. Don't waste your money

On a 5.0 scale,

3.5 to 4.49 is second class upper

2.50 to 3.49 is second class lower

1.50 to 2.49 is third class

Below 1.50 is fail

Go and rewrite your GRE, it's too poor to get an admit for economics

Whether 2:2 or third class, the cgpa will still be low when converted to a scale of 4

This is my advice .... Since you have your transcript i will advice that you evaluate your cgpa to US standard using the WES Gpa calculator( check their website for it) see if you could get a 2.75/2.8 then streamline schools who will accept your gpa of 2.75/2.8 be sure that there are a lot of schools in usa that would accept such grades ...

Hello house. I possess a bsc in psychology. 3.77cgpa and I'm interested in the studying Healthcare, MSc Occupational therapy to be specific but i haven't decided, according to my research, I'd have to take some prerequisites like anatomy and physiology. Which is the best school for occupational therapy at a cheap price, what exams do i need to write and any other advice would be highly welcome.. Thanks

Admission into graduate program is a bit different. Apparently, you may have to talk to a fellow student who's been on the committee. What I understand is that the first few lines/paragraph is key but for those finally selected, their SOP is read and analyzed to see if they are the perfect fit for the program.

I'm not a newbie to admissions and I never said no one reads SOPs. I said, no one reads a 6-page SOP, so anyone thinking of writing a 6-page SOP might be wasting his time.

Make it simple and coherent

Olalekank:

Step 1: Open your browser
Step 2: Type in www.Google.com
Step 3: Type in "good schools in the US that offer funding for MSC"
Step 4: Open a link, check the schools, talk with the program coordinator on funding information
Step 5: Repeat Step 4 for many other schools

It's not easy to wait for someone to come and start positing schools that offer funding. Some things are better left for you to research. Come on, you're going for grad admission.

Cheap price is not cheap if you convert to Naira tho, I’ll say take some standardized test and get that tuition waiver!

Put thoughts to paper and follow guides online. Talk about your educational background, skills you posses, relevant work experience or projects, why you chose the program or why it fits your plans , what you want to do ( research interest), what the program potentially stands to gain for recruiting you, conclude with future goals. There are additional questions that could make the app strong. Working along these lines would be apt! You could use samples for guidance but you should sound like you and genuine! Additionally, apply to more schools, spread your risk!
