I don't know why, anytime I put food for my male gsd, he will not start eating immediately, he will just stand there and be looking at me, then when I go he will start eating, My rott/gsd bitch on the other hand does not waste any time, she will attack the food immediately but my male gsd only does that when he is very very hungry but on a normal day, he will just be standing there looking at me and be waiting for me to go before he starts eating, I find that kind of annoying, why can't he just act like a normal dog, if it is meat now, he will not waste any time.

Do any of your dogs do that? Or is it just mine?

some thing is telling me that, that dog was once a human, until he picked #10 on the floor...

I have a similar case as well.My dog will not eat anything I put in his plate,he'll just be looking at me until I say the word "come" or "eat" before he starts eating.
I actually prefer it that way tho,I don't like dogs rushing me wen I want to feed them..

Op you have to make your dog feel comfortable with you

my dog eats better when I'm there with him, it's just how your relationship is with the dog.
when I first got him, I was always putting sweet things inside the food while he's eating so now anytime I'm there, my presence alone makes him eat more.

Na me suppose post this thing my female gsd does thesame thing but my rott/gsd no de carry head up until the plate shine

That is what I love about Rott, they are not picky with food at all. They will eat and eat and eat, you who is feeding them even have to be careful, if not they will get sick and die from toomuch eating. I think pitbulls too are like that.
