So sorry about your refusal. I think there's more context to each reason for refusal but they just categorise them under a blanket without going into specific details, that is from the searches I made online. The Travel history may go beyond just having being to those countries but could include length of stay, what you did there there etc. they say it's the GCMS notes that gives you the specific details. Wishing you a safe delivery.

Hello All,

Applied for Visa in December and got denied yesterday.I stated childbirth on my application

Their reason for denial was based on Travel history.I have travelled to US,Uk, Dubai and Gambia so i dont understand what they mean by travel history.

The second reason was due to Family ties both in Nigeria and Canada. I applied alone, i have a husband and a two year old daughter and i stated they would be staying back in Nigeria while i come give birth in Canada, what other family tie do i need.

As for tie in Canada my friend who is a citizen gave me the letter of invitation other than her i do not know another person in canada. Why do i need a family tie in Canada? Could there be an issue with the person who gave me the letter of introduction cause am confused?

I have decided to have my baby jejely here as i almost 34weeks gone and its too late to re apply.

But i just want to know where exactly i went wrong in the application so that when i reapply i can be able to address these issues.

Hello @iamajouyfulmothe,

I flew Egypt air but cannot discuss the details here. The immigration officer asked numerous questions because he needed to be convinced on why i am spending a long time; not sure he noticed my big tummy sha because he checked my things too....

Iamajoyfulmothe:
Hello @chayil

Hope you're making headway with your enquiry

Kindly share more details on your POE experience plsssss. If you don't mind

Also did you end up flying Egypt Air at 35 weeks

Just trying to be sure you are not making a mistake or to confirm too if there’s a change in the Dropbox process. You submitted your passport to them for renewal already (Dropbox direct) but it however was returned back without visa and you were asked to schedule an interview appointment with them (221(g) refusal, technically), abi? Or it’s something different you are talking of? Like you haven’t submitted your passport but you are being asked to submit your passport?

I haven't received my passport up till today. Don't even know what they want from me. No email, nothing. Anyway, I have scheduled for interview hoping I should receive an email to pick up my passport.

Dear all,

I have been a silent follower of this thread but I am out today since the US has become unfortunate to themselves as if is not the money that I am spending in their country. I don't know why they are restricting date for Dropbox. The date I got is very close to my edd so I am trying my luck on Canada application

Please @hotstepper, well done on the good job doing here.

Please, I saw that someone needs to invite me. Is that a must that someone must invite me? please enlighten me biko. Also, if you don't mind, can I get a preview or format for invitation letter used. Please I can PM anyone for that

Thank you

I don't know if they did. Coming from the US may have also helped. Even pregnant women go on summer vacation. Cos she could have given birth in the US if we wanted.

@Aquaboss Sir, just out of curiosity why don't you want your wife to give birth in US.

[quote author=sexyjob post=75580426]state tourism and medical specifying childbirth with supporting financial support base and good ties here. If you choose to go the tourism way then consider visiting first as stated in your application then use that opportunity to establish your contacts then you can go for childbirth later with your appointments and money[/quote
Okay. No time to do unnecessary visit. I am a very busy person. Just going there to give birth and make use of good health care service with the passport too . I will state tourism and medical only then in the letter of intent I will write childbirth.

I pray it work out for me

Dear All,

I have carefully and religiously followed the thread and must say a lot have been learnt from all your honest contributions.

However, my case is a bit different and will still appreciate your honest advise.

Just got married in Dec 2018 and all docs still have my name as I'm yet to do change of name. Me and hubby intend doing the Canadian PR and about to start the processing. Now, I'm 8weeks pregnant and a lil confused on which to do.

My questions pls:

1. Do I apply for tourist visa and deliver my baby in Canada and continue with the PR process afterwards ( Will my baby's status in anyway improve our chances)?

2. Do we still continue with the PR process and hope we get it before EDD in September? Is there any implication starting application with 2 fam member and increasing after childbirth?

3. Or proceed with the PR application and plan to give birth in USA?

I'm really confused. Please help.
Thank you.

Dear Etha11,

A whole lot of things needs to be considered; such as:
a. What stage of PR process are you ?
b. Will the funds for delivery not affect your POF ?

Since you are just 8 weeks gone, you can apply for the visa and just have it as a back-up plan (which is what i did). Although, your PR status will also influence the child's status if added but you really have nothing to loose with a back-up.

Have you written the English test, accessed your result and all that? Is your point up to the required point? Are you going to have delays due to certain things beyond you? Even the certification of result takes time atimes. If you can start up your PR asap and pursue it with full force, you may be able t9 get it and travel before delivery. But you know it's risky even though that may be your only guaranteed way out. Normal visa application is not guaranteed?
