It's possible that Joseph of Arimathea was a true disciple of Jesus, because one can still have riches and yet has forsaken everything.

And I would use the instance of Abraham to illustrate my point.

Now you remember when God had told Abraham to offer up his beloved son Isaac, but at the end even though Abraham yet had Isaac, he had forsaken Isaac.

And that was why God had rewarded Abraham for his obedience, even though he didn't literally or physically kill or sacrifice Isaac as God had instructed him to do at the first.

Because when God gives someone such an instruction, He has an objective, hence once that objective has been achieved with respect to the said person, same goes the instruction that God gave to that person for that purpose, even though the person may not have not physically or literally kept it.

So that was what happened with Abraham as the objective of that commandment had been achieved, regardless of the fact that Isaac Abraham's son and greatest treasure on earth was yet alive.

For God's objective was to see if Abraham could go to any extent for Him, and that nothing else on Earth inclusive of Isaac Abraham's beloved son, who he placed the most value on, in the earth, came before God.

And so that objective was accomplished when Abraham proved he could go to any length for his God, and that nothing else came before his God, not even his beloved son Isaac, as he was about to genuinely sacrifice him in accordance with God's commandments, before God stopped him having gotten what He wanted from Abraham in that respect.

Therefore such a commandment it's not necessarily in the literal or physical sense but certainly that of the mind, so I wouldn't have been surprised if Jesus had stopped the other rich young man as God did Abraham, if he had proven he could do what Jesus said, without actually doing it.

It's that mentality that's required of a true disciple of Jesus, where you've proven that you can leave everything for the sake of the Kingdom of God even though you may not leave it physically or literally.

That's how Joseph could have possibly been a true disciple of Jesus despite being rich, for if true then he would have proven that he could forsake everything according to the commandment of God, and hence already forsaking in his mind, with leaving it physically or literally being a mere confirmation of that which had already taken place in his mind or heart.

Bottom line, i believe that we should let God be the one to decide such things, and who He's going to use to such an extent, and who He's not going to use. For as God Himself made it, that was not the job of Peter or John, or the rest of the first eleven disciples, but that of Joseph of Arimathaea.

So at the level of being a true disciple of God which is the level of the Kingdom of God, it's up to God to decide who plays this role or that role, and to provide for Himself, for at that level of faith which is the highest, it's not man's will but God's Will that will be done.

THE RICH YOUNG RULER FORGOT THAT THE PRIMARY CONSIDERATION OF THE GOD OF ISRAEL IS JUSTICE.

BARNABAS WAS THE FOOL WHO BROUGHT PAUL INTO THE INNER CIRCLE, THINKING THAT HE WAS A CHRISTIAN.

By the time that he realized what should have been obvious to him From The Beginning- THAT PAUL DIDN'T CARE ABOUT THE REAL TEACHINGS OF LORD YESHUA AT ALL- it was not too late to take the appropriate actual, and disavow him, but that didn't happen.

Nonetheless, ONLY BARNABAS Teaches that there is MUCH MORE to the KOSHER/TREIF LAW than MERE EARTHLY FOOD.

LEVITICUS 11:1-47 is about HOW TO USE THE MIND, in general, and HOW TO ASSIMILATE THE WORD OF GOD in particular.
