A fresh tanker explosion occurred early this morning in Ihiala part of Anambra state.

It was gathered that the inferno started as a result of a fallen gas tanker in front of an army checkpoint in between Abbot boys secondary school and Celestial church of God, in the area.

According to reports, the army checkpoint was burnt to ashes. Some lorries packed along the road and other properties - were also caught up in flames. .

Eyewitnesses revealed that the fire occurred for hours as men of the state fire service were nowhere to be found. A pregnant woman is alleged to have died in the inferno.

It was also disclosed that the soldiers were around during the fire incident but later left. Residents were accusing them of being responsible for the outbreak due the sophistication of their barricades which 'won't allow tankers turn in peace'.

This particular checkpoint between Ihiala and Uli has no single importance (except if you count abusing of Igbo motorists and passersby by Fulani soldiers as one) and has caused so much misfortune, accidents and other bad things.

If Nigeria is not a hopeless shithole, why should Fulani soldiers who ought to be in Sambiasa chasing after Shekau and their other terrorist brothers mounting roadblocks in Anambra state that's as cool as ice water?

I concur With U Wholeheartedly. Over The Years In Ihiala..... This Particular Check Point Has been a menace. Accidents Occuring On Daily Basis. Yet This Stupid Check point Which has No Important Value Still stand By Men of The Nigerian Army.... They Are ONLY There Collecting bribes From Heavyweight duty Trucks.
