I am asking for my in laws. They both have OND and HND. One HAD both in Auchi polutevhnic while the other lady HAD OND in abia state polytechnic and HND in wolex polytrchnic that is now a university.
How can I verify if WES recognizes these schools and degrees? I heard OND ane HND are recognized as 2 degrees. They both want to be primary applicants.
People of God bless put mouth inside this matter.
Thanks!

If you sit for LWR in thé morning session, then your Speaking will be in thé afternoon session.

When i sat for the CBT, about 7 of us were slated to begin LWR at 9am. While we were in the Computer room (The test was 2hrs 45mins) another batch were having their Speaking test.

When we finished our LWR, we went back to the waiting room and when those who had Speaking in thé morning session started their LWR, we also started our speaking test.

So, the Speaking is basically few hours before or after the LWR depending on if you re having LWR during thé morning session or afternoon session. Speaking is not more than 15minutes, at most 18 minutes if you re thé chatty type.

I'm booking for the 1pm test and Speaking will be before my LWR

I hope this is a good idea as I will be travelling to Lagos from Ibadan

I just want the CBT its all because of the writing part, I prefer typing because it will be seen clearly and no need for cancelling in order to avoid rough sheet.

I did both PBT & CBT. If you re good at typing ( not necessarily typist skill level); i will say go with CBT. It is so much easier to re-arrange your paragraphs, move some sentences around, and tweak your essays if typed as compared to cleaning with eraser.

In addition, i found thé Reading CBT easier. There's minimal fear of loosing marks due to not obeying instructions. For example, some questions say choose A, B or C. Exam tension may make you write out thé answer in PBT( I know this cos it happened to me) For CBT, na to just click correct alphabet o. You can also just copy thé answer from thé passage and paste in thé given space ( risk of spelling errors eliminated)

Finally, the fact that you get to do thé Speaking component on thé same day is the icing on thé cake

Thanks for this update. How is the CBT Listening test like, how many minutes, are you allowed minute(s) before starting of each section as the PBT?

I booked 1pm in January for my speaking module with B.C.. Guess what? I was called last for my speaking test. This was around 4:35pm.

I was so tired, hungry and angry at the same time. People that picked latter hours were attended to, before me. The first person was to have hers at 3pm but got my time slot instead.

I was livid throughout the test. I had 8 in my speaking sha.

I guess what I’m trying to say is that, be prepared, your speaking test may not happen at 1pm.

All the best.

Hi, can I dm you

chuckdee13:
How dont really know how to start. its been a while I was here, doubt anyone even remembers me. but I used to disturb well well. I started my journey on the Australian PR thread. At a point I looked at Canada but at the time I wasnt gonna get an ITA cos the draws never came below 450 at the start of express entry, so I focused on Australia. I studied petroleum engineering and for those familiar with that process will know it got removed from the list of eligible occupations. But before then I had written one IELTS and 3 PTEs. I almost gave up, then in 2017 I remembered the Canada path and decided to check it out again. Thinking that something should have changed in 2 years. Something did. I saw draws of 433, 434, 413 and I was like YES! now I'll get an ITA.

So I started with Wes, did it and then it took me months to write my IELTS. I just dunno why it took me that long. Finally wrote it, passed and jumped into the pool. The rest is history as they say. @hephgirl the timeline is below grin;

Wes received 25th October 2017
IELTS LSWR 9,7,7,8.5 2nd June 2018
ITA 11th July 2018
AOR 8th September 2018
MEP/BIL/ADR 2nd October (ADR was for my Malaysia PCC, it wasnt ready when I had to submit)
ADR submitted 12th October 2018
Biometrics done 22nd October 2018

Then my file started attracting dust. Did everything an impatient person does from Ralph to calls to CSE. and then finally I requested for my gcms notes on the 6th of February 2019

So fast forward from October 2018
Ghost update 13th February 2019 (maybe 12th)
PPR 14th February 2019 (dated 13th February)

I learnt a lot here. a lot took me from Nairaland and so I missed out on all info and gist. I'll give back as much as I can. Thank you to everyone, both old and newbies. we learn DIY here in preparation for Cannyland.

Why not wait so that you don't lose money. Practice, practice, practice until you're comfortable with the whole thing. I started practicing listening 2 weeks ago. I started with getting 6/6.5 but now I'm getting 8 steadily but I'm not ready yet because yesterday I was still getting 7 but today I'm back at getting 8. I have noticed the problematic areas and I'm working on solving the issues. 68/75k is no joke my sister. I plan to write in April but I will practice every other day till then. Think about it again.

I will suggest you practise listening with only Cambridge IELTS. To me, it's the only practice that is 99% close to the real thing. In fact, its just direct past question.

I have used other materials and I've written IELTS once, it's the best I can suggest to anyone.

Good day peeps. I finally got my unofficial soft copy ECA from CES after 12 weeks, 4 days post- transcript-delivery.
I was about to dive into the pool, but I halted because I need some guidance from those who have used CES (Comparstive Education Services), or anyone who has a general knowledge.

The unofficial soft copy of the ECA emailed to me today has a reference number that starts with CIC-00****. On my Express Entry profile however, there is a column for 'ECA certificate number'. Is ECA certificate number the same as the reference number on the soft copy I received today?

Mamaroon, are you there?

Congratulations @tee248490 and family,I'm so happy for you. go and prosper IJN

Tee248490:
ECA : May 2017 for me, July 2018 for spouse

IELTS: May 2017 for me, August 2018 for spouse (on the 6th attempt)

ITA : Aug 22
AOR: September 27
MEP: Oct 26
Update for baby: Nov 8
PPR: February 12 dated 11
No ADR
VO: Ottawa

I was in the pool for one year with a CRS score of 432...... August 2nd.
Long story short I waited and waited and waited.....till my profile expired August 2 2018....

I didn’t have enough to be the PA, my husband did but getting his ECA done and acing IELTS was a mountain....

My husband had done his MBA at Lautech, but getting his transcript to WES was war as a result of the long strike action of the university.
The university was on strike literally all through 2017!

Eventually sometime at the beginning of 2018, they resumed and it took us another 6 months to finish WES evaluation thanks to those who stepped in for us.
Finally ECA was completed in July 2018.

So now, he has his MBA, fantastic! But there is the Ielts hurdle to jump....
Reason is within 2017 to 2018, he had already written ielts 5 times and has given up on it... he would get an overall score of 8 with writing being 6.5 in all 5 instances.

He told me at that point that he is no longer interested but when the ECA finally came through in July, we both had our hope renewed

So on that fateful day in July 2018, I started begging him to take it one last time

He grudgingly accepted, I prayed so much that it was really the last IELTS....

The earliest date available was in 2 days with MOD.. Again, he refused to study that he had been studying for past ones and failing it .... at the point I could only hope for the best..
Long story short...... he got max score for LSRW! On the 6th attempt! What! I was screaming and jumping around
CRS 479!

Fast forward to August 22nd ! ITA

A special thanks to @DonTee07 for answering my questions... may God perfect yours

Let me add to the discussion. If you can practice meticulously with Cambridge 10-13 books, you'll be fine. Each book has 4 tests. Once you finish any test, make sure you review your answers. When I first started, I noticed I often make mistakes with singular/plural, for example, if the answer is books and you write book, you'll not get any mark. So I started paying more attention. You can download the books here.

This next ITA must not miss me; I want to believe IRCC PAUSE the next ITA for my sake wink.

Mamaroon, are you there?

I believe all the details on the soft copy is same as hard copy, so the ref no should suffice. That's what they're asking for anyway and will still confirm the information with CES. In fact it'll probably be the same soft copy you will upload with your application because the hard copy may take some time.
