regarding the UN Human Development index, it has statistics on regional development making a perfect ideal we have as of nkw. for example, one could see the difference in development between lagos state and osun state both of which are in Nigeria. It combines measures of per capita income with life expectancy at birth and educational attainment. you can see its usefulness in places such as Africa performance. You can see that while some African countries may have performed badly in terms of GDP they still showed considerable improvement according to other measures of development.

this matter of poverty rate is bogus (to me) cos our cost of living in a day is not even up to $3.

Haa, u talking economy. I've always believed that mineral resources is not the surest way to run an economy, economy should be knowledge based. Mineral resources caused more damage than good to Nigeria and will still cause more to any mineral based economy unless the boom is channeled to other sustainable sectors.

Nigeria can still get its ass together, it has many potentials other than mineral resources which has not been utilised.

Do you know the process of passing a bill or making a law in Nigeria? There are 11 steps. If you understand that it passed the second reading then you should understand it has scaled the 5th step and has been approved. Currently, it is in the 6th step and will pass through the 7th and 8th steps on February 19th.

The 11 steps is a done deal because the executive sponsored the bill. I hope you understand the technicalities in passing bills here.
