To contribute from my personal experience.. I have 2 blessed kids born via CS.. Had 2 myomectomy's & 2 CS.. my Tommy is not out of shape. Am back to my first ever pre pregnancy shape..

When it comes to baby alive, mother alive..whatever best advice given by our medical practitioners should be followed by faith in God. Whatever options you birth with, there will be pains accompanied with it but with the joy of the newborn and with appropriate care.. the pains will go with time. Some opt for Elective CS since they have had a CS done b4 and they feel no need stressing the uterus, some medical advice, some esp those nurses(pls no offense intended o) that have witnessed countless labour episodes and they feel like lailai me no want pain, amongst many other reasons..

Please ladies, talk less too. if we don't involve all these people, they won't seem to have so much control over us when life decisions matter. Talk to people who you're led to talk with, God always leads..Cos of some reasons & things I have seen.. my parents and in laws never knows until we call them that we have given birth. Yes they may be angry but it'll fade off with time.. my MIL still sucks about it 5yrs after but she knows that for us..

One other important factor about having a CS is considering the money usually involved. Sisters pls let's embrace insurance.. We can find out about it. Once pregnancy is confirmed, try to have one done. it helps a lot. NHIS is one that I know of that is very good. for people working in private organizations that don't have Health packages for them or for business people. Walk into any NHIS office in your state.. Check google for the address of the one closest to you.. And you'll be guided. Voluntary contribution scheme or something like that... it takes care of a lot for 1 yr.

Please don't let situations take us unawares.. Discuss with your partner even b4 taking in and talk about different things including birthing your proposed kids and settle things to a reasonable extent. You'll be able to have an idea of what can happen when you get to that bridge later in life. May God help us all..

It's my own little contribution o..

Thanks for this.

I had CS on my first child after failed induction and i healed up btw 3wks .I didn't itch my tommy when pregnant instead I rubbed Shea butter on it and I did lots of tommy Exercise to get bak in shape.

I had my second child after 5years ND it was eventually CS because I had a closed cervix and wasn't dilating. recovery took a two months and I guess it was because of the stress I went Tru then because I was working til I fell into labour luckily for me it was on a weekend. my son stopped breastfeeding at 4 months, I had to continue giving him home made pap and LACTOGEN then I switched to Nutribom at 6 months with light meals. I snapped Bak to shape cos I lost lots of weight but later started shaping up.

I am still a size 12 and much hasn't changed even with the implanon. considering having two kids ,I still have a little pouch but working in progress.

Thanks for sharing. VD also leaves pouch depending on body type so nothing new there.

adezie:

For my first, I had to have an emergency cs 38 hours after I was induced. Labor wasn't progressing and baby's heartbeat was dropping with every contraction.
Surgery started by 11pm. Baby was born 11:15pm but I didn't come out till 1:30am. Doc said something about using special nylon to seal my wound so I won't have a scar. I was awake all through.
Now to recovery:
At 8am, I was made to stand and take about 10 foot steps to get to my bed. It was excruciating but in my head not as bad as the labor pain I went through. Later that evening I was made to walk to the next room and back. I could also take tea. By the next morning, I had graduated to pap and by evening rice. I was encouraged to always take short walks and not sit at a place. It was painful but it got easier.
I was discharged two days later. My friends and neighbors couldn't believe I just had surgery. No stretch marks and by two weeks after I could walk straight. Only my scar reminds me of the surgery.
Surgery scares me just cos its surgery. Vd is not the easiest choice either. They both have their pros and cons. But the joy of seeing your baby after takes away any residual pain. In all, follow your doctors instruction.

Wow. Supernatural recovery!

I'm sure the other therapies worked and you got better fast.

Sister no be small thing but I sabi guava tree sha just that my location is somehow, no natural vegetations.

Yes am good now thank you. The idiot stooling was doing hide and seek with me. I called one Dr for my former private hospital and he told me to take one caps of loperamide 2mg and also be on ORS therapy.

I did oo, felt better but the next day the thing rebooted and was showing me pepper only water was coming out like tap. So I took another does and continued the ORS. Then the next day I carried my legs and went to the govt hospital.
I spent the whole day as it was their antenatal day too. When it was my turn, I told Dr what was happening with me that I had been stooling since on Monday. Madam Dr just laugh at me that I can't stooling for that long and still be looking like this. shocked shocked.

She said, madam just watch your diet to identify what's upsetting your stomach and prescribed some drugs for me. Dear do you know that for over 6 hours I spent in the hospital I didn't have the urge to poop once.

I came back with the drugs but up till now since on Thursday I haven't opened the drugs as I couldn't find the stooling. Na so the stooling stopped.

Thank God Dh is not around he for force me to take the drugs. Or next time if I complain of anything, he will just be looking me as if I just want attention.

It wont hurt your baby. Just be cautious because bodies are different and some foods causes unpleasant triggers. For instance, too much pepper for some people can cause stomach upset.

If you don't have aversion to milk, drink some cold milk to reduce the acidity or heartburn.
Thanks alot i really appreciate smiley smileywhile i was waiting for response yesterday i drank cold milk which was very helpful i only stool twice before day break

However, progesterone injection is an alternative to Cervical Cerclage because of the latter's side effects which could introduce infection, blood loss for few days....
Progesterone relaxes the uterus and is given till 37weeks.
Read more http://fmfla.org/vaginal-progesterone-is-an-alternative-to-cervical-cerclage-in-women-with-a-short-cervix-and-a-history-of-preterm-birth/

I don't consider progesterone as an alternative to a cerclage. Doctors can prescribe both depending on the circumstances. Progesterone can help in early pregnancy to prevent loss, a cerclage is typically placed from 10-12weeks.

how soon can one start taking progesterone injection

The suppositories from 6 weeks.
The injections r typically for later from 16weeks if your Doctor prescribes them; some continue with the suppositories though.

BS!
So I had been having contractions since Tuesday on and off. They were more painful than the regular Braxton hicks but since they were not progressing into anything serious, I just decided that they were Braxton hicks that went to Harvard. They continued till friday but it was so freaking painful on Thursday night. So I decided to go to the hospital on friday just to get checked so I don't get stuck at home since Saturday was supposedly election.
When I got there, they checked me and I was 3cm but my cervix was still posterior. Next thing I heard from the matron was, nurse, give her bed. I said huhhhh?
I want to go home oh. I only came to get checked. D matron said, madam u r not going home please get your delivery items.
That was how they told me to go and stroll o so I can progress fast. For those that know abuja, I strolled from MDH to Dunes, window shopped with my husband, and back. Then I got checked again at past 9, that's 4 hrs from my 1st check. Omo the woman said madam u r 4cm. I said Mogbe! With my other pregnancies, I progressed fast o, I really don't know what happened this time, maybe because this one know say na last born. Lol.
I started complaining o that I want to go home, them no even answer me.
They left me there. The contractions weren't really consistent though so somehow I felt I was just wasting my time there. By 5.15am, the matron checked again then she said madam u t 6cm. That was when I knew I was ready to give birth. Lol.
Then she broke my water at 5.20 and proceeded to give me oxytocin. Mamas I went to heaven and came back to earth. Crash landing!
The contractions came with a vengeance and the thing sef no dey release me. As in, the contractions were just on top of each other. Usually I don't labour lying down so I asked the nurse if I could get down from the bed. She said no problem, just hold your pad between your legs.
I got down from the bed, next thing I started shouting, this baby is coming ooooo. The nurse say, how can? Urinate inside that container there, it is weewee. I said no I don't want to pee, this baby is coming. The nurse say empty your bladder, u want to weewee. I said nooooo this baby is coming. She said oya climb the bed lemme check u. Next thing as I climb bed, this woman decided to put catheter. Mehn that thing is so painful. She was now grumbling, how can u say u dont want to weewee, see ur bladder is full. I started shouting again, this baby is coming! She said wait now, lemme check you. As she checked she said okay there's small cervix left. Don't push, dont push! And I really wonder why these women keep telling someone not to push when you actually cant help it.
Omo I started pushing o. The woman said stop pushing you will tear ur cervix. Me that all I was seeing in my bed was black. I thought someone was breaking my body into 2. I was pushing with all the strength I had left. Next thing his head popped out, then I pushed out his shoulders and d rest of his body slid out. It was a very intense delivery and painful as hell. Lol. I had very little tear which was stitched up and after I was cleaned up, I went back to my ward and was discharged later that evening. Baby weighed 3kg. He's doing fine and can suck for Africa. I'm doing well too. Trying to catch up on all the sleep I lost on friday night. Lol. I pray for a safe delivery to all the mamas on this thread and as for those believing God for the fruit of the womb, ur expectations shall never be cut short.
Cappo BS submitted! Blessings.

Hi moms.
For your newborn starter pack (all your baby needs in the first 3-6m of life), postpartum maternal care and hospital list, please patronize us.

Are you on bedrest and can't go shopping for your baby things.
Are you very tired these days and can't go through the stress?
Are you in a new place and don't know how their market works?
You don't have enough money to buy at once, we offer lay-bye too, you know?
You want to give an expectant mom a surprise?

Then send us a message on 08024740159 or send a PM and we will get the items to you at a great price.
And yes, unlike the open market we are open to swapping items so if you get an item from us and still got it as a gift, we will accept it from you in exchange for another item we have in stock.

Attached is comprehensive list for both mother and child.
Send a DM or a message for the price list. kiss

Happy bumping and congratulations to the new moms!!!
