Hundreddegrees:what kind of daft an contradictory comment is this? You said we have it some public places but we don't know how to maintain it. Now the question is; is it up to us to maintain it as an individual or the govt? At the end of the day the govt should rightfully take the blame. It's a PUBLIC property and should be maintained by the GOVT! not us |

Ehiscotch:Let him enjoy the Euphoria of life. The first time I entered church oversea, I saw old people white hair full the church. I was very displeased with the entire young people for not going to church to even thank God with great celebration for giving them 24hrs NEPA, Landline phone, internet in every home, fine road with no potholes, traffic light that works, no hot sun, fine-fine effizy clothing that is affordable, shoe, watch, phone, eduction, teachers attending lectures, CLEAN TOILET EVERYWHERE, no beggars on the street, fine powerbike, instead of okada, trains working, busses working. When we Nigerians are praying and begging God for these basic things, them Oyibo, that have it have forgotten to thank God... To even pray. If God make their NEPA take their light now, their nyash will open.. |

samsam2019:You need to understand the workings of society. A good government has a vision for it's people. Sets up infrastructure and employs workers to maintain it. Then pays the workers for their work.. If the infrastructure is getting bad and the govt is refusing to maintain/pay workers for maintenance, then it is the duty of the biggest boys in society to buy that infrastructure as private property (privatization) and go through the finances of employing and paying workers to maintain it. If the biggest boys do not want to make that infrastructure work, it is the duty of the society/community to come together as a group and manage and maintain the property/infrastructure thing. It is you that the sh1t is catching. You need to use that toilet. Govt may or may not be bothered about you and your sh1t. In their mind, they have built toilet and handed it over to you. |

Redman44:Ibadan is a hill land. Water in a community is supplied by water works. This is a rather large corporation that is owned by the government. They get the water from a river or a borehole, and then lay pipes allover the city, piping the water to homes and businesses. They also maintain the pipes from leaks due to rust, heat expansions, construction works that can break the pipes by accident and nefarious individuals who want free water without paying water bill. Do you think Ibadan has the government or discipline to create and maintain such infrastructure? This is the way it is done in developed countries. Read up any British Standard, ISO or ASME publications2/codes on water distribution. Ibadan is a village. There's no light. Pit latrine is their standard. Low or zero maintenance cost. No need for pumps, NEPA, generator.... |

Offpoint:It's all about Education. The school teaches the children how to sh1t, maintain equipment etc. and the parents enforce that at home, because they already have toilet in their house. You know that we don't all have toilets in our houses in Nigeria. Even the teacher teaching the students may not even have toilet in his house. So what is he teaching? A teacher is a master, a leader. One who teaches from HIS OWN examples. He should have his own car, his own house, his own everything. It is his experience of using all these things that he teaches you the student. SO, are our teachers paid proper wages to earn any of these things? The answer is NO. Therefore, the nigerian teacher is Blind! The Blind cannot lead other blind. They will both fall into a hole. Who's fault? We the people who elect corrupt and empty leaders who have nothing to lead us about, except siphon our money and fly overseas to London to enjoy oyibo facilities. This is democracy. We are the fault that selected bad leaders to lead us. |

NOETHNICITY: Think about this: The main thing that separates humans from animals is dignity. If you call yourself a modern man and not an animal, you will dignify one of the basest things you do, which is defecation. Animals will defecate anywhere. They will do it in the open, in the bush, by the roadside. You name it...and they don't have to wipe or wash their ass afterwards. A dignified human being will provide a decent toilet for himself, especially in public places. So that when nature calls while you are in a public place, you do not have to become an animal and defecate in a nearby bush, or gutter, or roadside, or uncompleted building. You also provide steady water to wash and clean after the deed is done. Its called civilization. Are you civilized, or just another Bushman? |

Hundreddegrees: A typical young Nigerian man likes to do things the wrong way to get praises from his peers for being unique. I have encountered a lot of young people destroying things belonging to others and boasting about it to their friends in order to boost their egos. I will hardly help a Nigerian young man going forward, unless he proves different. PROVE. |

denjjy:Yes indeed. You Nigerians should ask your buddies to leave India. LOL, our country will collapse if Nigerians leave us. For the matter for fact with pun, in all development and technological indicators or any aspect of anything, Nigeria is light years behind India. India is perfect example of how to to survive and stand up again when you got no natural resources, have hostile neighbours, Americans are sanctioning, challenged by terrorists. While Nigeria is perfect example of about how to fail your country despite having everything. Democracy, stability, culture, economy, foreign policy, technology, income, poverty, human development index, infant mortality, hunger, wars, nuclear weapons, space sector, medical sector, mega cities, international politics, films, agriculture, industrialization, service sector, ICT, exports, forex, Petroleum products (Nigeria produces oil but India buys oil to change it into products and exports), low rape rate, low murder and other crime rate, corruption, literacy, education, weapons, population control or anything I can remind. Not to mention India's military capabilities at a broad spectrum only outperfotned by world's greatest powers only. Nigeria is giant of Africa, India is a giant more powerful than entire Africa or South America. |

Re: This Yoruba Man Abroad Is Angry With Nigeria by Goel: 8:47pm On Feb 18, 2019 |
denjjy:Last time I checked; people without access to toilets: India : 23 millions (1.4%) Nigeria: 47 millions (23.5%) So, Nigeria is open defecation capital also along with extreme poverty capital. India was never comparable to your countries because India was only big in numbers and not percentage. Indian living standards are similar to Southeast Asia or nothern part of South Ameica. 1 Like |

Goel:Hello Goel, see, I want to apologize for all I've said about your dear country. I was only trying to be funny. I hope you will accept my apology. To be sincere India is one of the countries that one day I would love to tour, hopefully I will meet some of the Bollywood stars and my childhood friend Ali. But I'm very scare to go to India because of the fear that I will not see a toilet being the rarerest thing in India. 1 Like |

denjjy:Well, India isn't a very great place to live either. It is just next to worst. And we are just trying to transform it into an upper middle income country like Thailand if not developed like Japan. We are just a bunch of losers who didn't fight when foreigners came and now winning. Our country is much like East Asia in 80s or Westerner world on 1920s-30s. After struggles, we made sure that no one is so extremely poor that they can't earn enough to eat in India. But t'was just one step. A lot more more luxuries are to be transformed into necessities. I'm only attacking stereotypes and I personally don't have anything with Afros. Indians have a highly mixed ethnicity so you won't face discrimination for color at least. Our problems, situations, capabilities, sizes and history were totally different. So, let's not compare with each other. It's unfair. Regards |
