AIR TRAINING COMMAND PARADES 10 SUSPECTED BANDITS, VOWS TO SECURE ITS AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY IN KADUNA

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) in Kaduna has vowed to secure its Area of Responsibility (AOR) in order to ensure peace in the State. This was disclosed by the Air Officer Commanding Air Training Command (AOC ATC), Air Vice Marshal Mohammed Suleiman, at the Command Headquarters while parading 10 suspected thugs and bandits to the press today, 19 February 2019.

Speaking during the press briefing, the AOC ATC, represented by the Commander 453 Base Services Group (BSG) NAF Kaduna, Air Commodore Idi Sani, stated that, following the directives of the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, to provide support to the Nigeria Police for the peaceful conduct of the 2019 general elections, a Patrol Team from the 453 BSG, at about 2.45 am on 16 February 2019, intercepted 7 suspected thugs/bandits armed with dangerous weapons around the Hajj Camp, Mando. The suspects are Abdullahi Adam, Halilu Rilwan, Lawal Hassan, Idris Yusuf, Kabir Muhammed, Badamasi Alhassan and Idris Abubakar. Items recovered from the thugs, who claimed to be members of a vigilante group, include 8 dane guns, 3 cutlasses and a Volkswagen Golf 3 car without a plate number.

He also disclosed that 3 other suspects were arrested during the same period. One Mr Abdulrauf Yusuf (AKA GORILLA FIGHTER), was arrested, in company of Mr Muhammad Bello, in a Volkswagen Golf 3 car with Registration Number EG 181 ABS Abuja, around NECO Junction, Mando on 16 February 2019 at about 2.30 am. Furthermore, Mr Shehu Yahaya, was arrested at Amana Kasuwa on 15 February 2019 at about 11.45 pm with 5 machetes and a knife. Air Commodore Sani also reported that on 2 February 2019, the NAF Special Operations Team, tasked with dealing with kidnapping, cattle rustling and armed banditry, had intercepted a group of cattle rustlers at Riyawa Forest. He noted that, in the face of superior fire power from the NAF Team, the cattle rustlers abandoned 44 cows and 13 rams they had rustled. The 10 suspects were handed over to the Police while the animals were handed over to the Kaduna State Government for further action.

The AOC emphasized that the NAF, working in synergy with other security agencies, would continue to dominate its AOR with aggressive patrols in order to ensure peace and security throughout Kaduna State so that law abiding citizens can go about their legitimate businesses without hindrance. Fielding questions from the press, the Coordinator of Operation YAKI, AIG Mohammed Muktar Abbas (Rtd), who received the animals on behalf of the Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, thanked the NAF for always assisting the Police in ensuring that citizen of the State live in an environment devoid of fear. He therefore commended the NAF for providing aid to civil authority in Kaduna State. Also present at the occasion was Superintendent Surajo Daura, who represented the Commissioner of Police Kaduna State.

Angolan artillery and armored vehicles, all made in Russia and China, these things are not that hard or expensive to come by, why is our own army addicted to pickup trucks ?

Bad leadership; look at the breakthroughs alone the NAF had in the past years.

I was going through a Russian blog - Tankograd and I saw an article about the BMP 2. To cut the long story short, a used BMP 2 costs $78,000. Let me not even talk of BTRs singing I do !

If refits & weapons update(which the world is littered with companies doing this) are done let's round it off to $120k per vehicle. 350 vehicles ready to do the Lord's work is less than $50m!!!!!! Never mind they could all be in Nigeria before Rainy season!!

Jake imagine having 350 30mm/7.62mm cannon armed IFVs ,not world beater but enough to make sure ISWAP/BH is getting their scammed virgins faster.

Hahah the bolded was not necessary.

I think we have this inability to get the easiest and most fundamental things done right. Oga beeg highlighted this on his twirrer, we also always find a way to take the most difficult route and still achieve mediocre results.

There have been two major reforms I am aware of, one during yar'adua and another during GEJ, millions of dollars spent and still no tangible result. The main problem with police is that just like Nigeria in general, it's too centralized. What we need is restructuring, the current structure of police is not working at all.
I am not advocating for State police because states are not mature enough, but state police is not the only option. What about regional police? Let Every state in a region dedicate dedicate 3-5% of their IGR to the funding of the police.

That is why I say, these NA brass, are the worst of all Nigerians. And we all know that there are no shortage of wicked souls in that country.
These bastards would rather share and pocket any available money , instead of save the lives of their men talk less of country men they are sworn to protect.
PMB whom I supported coming in due to GEJs cluelessness in military issues. He has now proven he is worse than GEJ. He borrowed billions from the Chinese to pay salaries ,but he couldn't borrow one or two billion from the Chinese , to overhaul our decrepit military.
Which would in turn solve most of our security challenges, thereby increasing investor confidence in nigeria.
Foreign direct investment means jobs for Nigerians.

With 300 bmp-2s, bhts technicals would be outmaneuvered and outgunned, with some armor protection for the troops. State governors can afford to finance NA if fairly used equipment are diligently sought.

A job for our top heavy military, colonels and up. Discover ways to fundraise and sponsor the adequate equipping of the Nigerian armed forces before they further ruin their reputation beyond repair.

NAF AIRCRAFT DECIMATES TERRORISTS’ CAMP WHILE PROVIDING CLOSE AIR SUPPORT TO TROOPS IN BORNO STATE

The Air Task Force (ATF) of Operation LAFIYA DOLE has decimated a Boko Haram Terrorist (BHT) camp and neutralized some of their fighters at a settlement called Arboko in Borno State. The operation was conducted on 18 February 19 while a Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Alpha Jet and an Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) platform were providing close air support to troops of 82 Brigade Nigerian Army. In the course of the operation, the ISR aircraft spotted a group of BHT fighters within Arboko village and vectored the Alpha Jet to engage their camp with rocket fire, thereby degrading the terrorists’ structures and neutralizing some of their fighters.

The NAF, operating in concert with surface forces, will sustain its efforts to completely destroy all remnants of the terrorists in the Northeast.
