Angolan artillery and armored vehicles, all made in Russia and China, these things are not that hard or expensive to come by, why is our own army addicted to pickup trucks ?

SPs and tanks are completely useless against terrorists groups. Probably you will win some batyles with them but the guys will eventually adapt to defeat or even steal them

They aren’t useless, the biggest threat to our troops in the NE are gun trucks from the enemy, those BMP and tank destroyers would take out BHT technicals like target practice, best of all Boko boys don’t have guided anti tank weapons to counter these, 100x force multiplier over pick up NA field currently

Honestly @odunayaw as said it all, lets get fairly used BMP/BTR in large numbers. Upgrade to av additional add-on armor, day/night search & thermal imaging camera and RCWS...etc.
These would be a game changer in the N.E. theatre.

*BOKO HARAM: MULTINATIONAL JOINT TASK FORCE COMMENCES OPERATION YANCIN TAFKI IN THE LAKE CHAD AREA.*

Recently Boko Haram Terrorists operating from the northern fringes of the Lake Chad Basin exploited gaps within defensive positions, which have since been blocked, to attack positions in Arege, Metele, Baga and other settlements within the locality. As a logical follow up to the atrocious and cowardly attack on defenseless civilians and their property, the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF), comprised of troops from Cameroon, Chad, Niger Republic and Nigeria have commenced a military operation code - named Operation YANCIN TAFKI.

The aim of the operation is to take the battle to the remaining last hideouts of Boko Haram Terrorists within the designated area of responsibility of the MNJTF and subsequently rout the terrorists.

It would be recalled that a couple of months ago, a summit of the Heads of States and Governments of states of the Lake Chad Basin Commission, chaired by President Mohammadu Buhari, met in N'Djamena, Chad, to fine tune bilateral engagements aimed at dealing with the Boko Haram problem. This operation is therefore expected to give concrete and far reaching expressions to the resolutions of that summit.

Furthermore, the MNJTF recognizes the challenges of effective coverage and reportage of a conflict, especially in the age of fake news. However, the Force is confident that the media in the affected countries will remain resolute and committed to professionalism and the common goal of eliminating terrorism in the Lake Chad Basin, as well as the stabilization of the area for the millions of its inhabitants currently displaced.

Please, disseminate this information to the general public.

SECURITY IN TARABA STATE RECEIVES BOOST AS NAF PROVIDES FUELING FACILITY, MOTORCYCLES, OTHER EQUIPMENT TO 23 QRW NGUROJE

In its quest to further enhance security on the Mambilla Plateau in Taraba State, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has provided a mobile Jet A-1 fueling facility to enable the refueling of NAF Helicopters that would operate out of the 23 Quick Response Wing (23 QRW) Nguroje. In addition, the NAF has provided motorcycles as well as other equipment and tactical gear to Special Forces personnel in the Wing to enable them more effectively carry out their assigned task.

The action is in fulfillment of the promise made by the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS) , Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, during his maiden operational visit to the 23 QRW on 19 January 2019. During the visit, the CAS had promised that he would continue to do all within his power to provide the needed logistics support and resources that would enable the Wing function more effectively and efficiently in ensuring peace and security in the area. The general public is therefore encouraged to go out in mass to exercise their voting rights as their security is assured.

'THE NIGERIAN ARMY ABANDONS ARMY CAPTAIN ATTACKED BY ARMED BANDITS WITH GRENADE IN ZAMFARA. BATTLES FOR LIFE IN PRIVATE HOSPITAL IN ABUJA

A Captain in the Nigerian Army has been abandoned by the Army and left to die after being attacked with a Grenade by Armed Bandits in Zamfara on the 29th December 2018.

The captain who served in various parts of Borno state including Chibok, when Boko Haram was at it's peak, fought many battles some side by side with the Late Col.Abu Ali, engaged Boko Haram terrorists for 6 whole years, after which the Army posted him to Zamfara(giving him no rest whatsoever ever in 7years from the battle field) when the issue of Armed Bandits started getting out of hand.

On the 29th December 2018, while out on a clearance operation in the forests of Zurmi Local Government of Zamfara state, the officers and soldiers were attacked in ambush by Armed Bandits, many soldiers lost their lives..The Grenade that the Armed Bandits threw at the officers shattered the Captains legs, and several particules of the explosive entered and spread into several parts of his body. This on it's own, is also some sort of poisoning to his body.

The soldiers were immediately taken to FMC Gusau, few days after,Governor Yari and the Zamfara state Government officials visited him in FMC Gusau and offered to pay
his medical bills and so he was transferred to a private hospital in Abuja..

We deeply and sincerely want to thank the Zamfara State Governor and the Zamfara State Government for coming in when the Army proved inefficient and neglective. But is it the Zamfara State Government's duty to take care of Military personnel injured in battle?

The Young Captain has undergone over 10 surgeries with very little progress.
The injured officer has asked several times that his legs be amputated because of severe and unbearable pains..

We are left to wonder why the Defence Headquarters hasn't even sent a single representative to check on him,up till the time i write this, neither has any attempt been made to pay his bills or even fly him abroad for proper treatment by the Nigerian Army. We know very well this is something the Army can afford comfortably and effortlessly.

He needs urgent help, We call on the leadership of the Army to intervene at this point. After 2 months in the hospital and having undergone several surgeries, his legs are rottening, his entire body is depreciating, he is dying slowly, why will the Army turns a blind eye?
How can this be done to an officer who left everything he loved, his comfort, his family to serve his country? How does this motivate anyone to join the Nigerian Military?

What is the officer's crime other than he fought terrorists so that we live? He stood in between us and the terrorists, He got this injury trying to protect us all. This is a man who will take a bullet for any of us. Is this how the Government and Army should pay him back? are they not aware,he has parents, siblings, relatives, friends, family and loved ones too? Don't they know,we feel pain too?

If our military officers are treated this way by the Army, upon getting injury from battle, how do we ever win the war against terrorism in this country?

He spent 10years serving in the Army and 7years in operation theatre,he should at least be appreciated by getting the best medical attention the Army can afford.

General Buratai I hope this gets to you and the President. Let Your conscience guide you to do the right thing for this young, brave, gallant officer.

Do not let his sacrifice for this country amount to nothing, he doesn't deserve this cruel treatment from the Army Leadership.

Finally,I make this passionate appeal to everyone who reads this, help us get this to Buratai by sharing and to the Commander in chief, let them intervene please'

Don't be surprised by 2moro the army will release a statement denying it infact they might say there are processes and procedures to be embarked before the army give him a proper treatment because they are following best practices on wounded soldiers. That na if them no outrightly deny the incident and the man. That's how we have lost every ounce of patriotism from the citizens, just imagine where an able-bodied man is begging for his leg to be amputated.
Suffice to say Nurses and some health care givers in most military institutions are pure witches, the nonchalant attitude towards humans even their own colleagues is appalling. May God help this country.

Why amputate ?

The leg can be saved and should be saved

I have seen worse cases, where patients kept their legs and resumed duties. It takes time though to regain functionality of the affected leg.

I believe you are an educated young Nigerian. Why are you guys like This?. In what way has this guy been ABANDONED?
You said in the main body of the story that the man has undergone ten surgeries. How is that abandonment?.
The pictures of him on the bed connected to some modern bone setting and breathing apparatus. Doctors know better whether his legs should be amputated or not or whether the legs are rotten. I doubt that is the case. He is obviously on antibiotics and i am sure the exposed flesh was snapped during wound dressing.

Let us get our minds off two things in this country: sentiments (which is emotional weakness) and sensationalism (which is sign of poor exposure).
