Lol, W203 is the worse engineered Benz, Fact. The best engineered Benz are W140, W202, W124, W123, W201. Even a BMW E36 and E46 are way better engineered thoroughbred sports oriented sedan.

Engine;m271 churns out 190hp and 192 ib-ft of torque for a 1.8l engine.you don't expect it to be d most reliable,do you?
Flaws with the m271;
Oil pump is located in the engine and has a timing of it's own which most of our artisans can't fix.hence if the pump fails,you are buying a new engine
No oil dipstick.if oil sensor fails,checking oil level and quality becomes herculean,hence can lead to failure.
It's a very tiny but powerful supercharged engine that responds at the slightest pedal touch,so these things are expected.
Suspensions,yes.you gotta work on the front legs once a year.
Cooling?yes it fails,mostly because people wanna cut corners
Interior trim?i don't know about that cos mine is still sharp.
Please can you also talk about the balance shaft issues on the m272
Whoever goes for luxury should be able to pay the price.
About the gearbox,not true.it is literally bullet proof.
One has to be extra careless to destroy one of those.
The only thing i do not like of all you listed up there is the m271

Test a 7G tronic unit. The 5GTronic was from the W202. Very bulletproof. I am referring to all W203
