This is what I don’t get about some of you. Just because you are experiencing a scam or unhappiness does not mean others are unhappy in theirs.

Just be yourself in a positive way. Most parents can sense when someone is faking. Being introverted makes it even more difficult because it can be construed as faking to seem nice. Your boyfriend can help here by telling his mom that you are introverted and may be shy.

Except she inquires about your relationship with their son, don’t bring it up. If they bring it up be calculative and modest in your response without sounding desperate. You can speak about his positive qualities if they ask why you like their son.

Warning: Don’t speak like you know her son more than her because it is a huge turn off for mothers. Mothers become defensive in that instance. No one should know their son more than them, even after marriage, it is a simple rule.

Don’t build any expectation of marriage especially if your guy has not openly conversed such with you irrespective of the level of commitment between both of you. For all you know, he may have just told them a female friend is visiting or his girlfriend without making any commital comments about marriage to her.

Someone once told me of how she spent weeks preparing to meet his boyfriend’s parents and when the day came, his parents greeted her and after 10 mins the parents left for church. Today they are married and she is best friends with her mother in-law.
