Guys, please ensure you register for ambulance cover in your state for both emergency and non emergency services. You never know when you may need it. Ambulance services are not covered under Medicare and if you ever have an ambulance called, you'll have to pay about 1000 dollars (whether you enter or not). So get a cover, it's not that expensive, for a single guy in Victoria it's about 94 dollars per annum. You can google ambulance services for your state to get more info. Note that some private health insurers dont provide ambulance on some plans.

Also, remember to get private health insurance if you're earning over $90k as an individual or $180k as a couple. If you don't, you'll have to pay the Medicare Levy Surcharge during tax season and the minimum charge us 1% but could go up to 1.5%. See more details below. Cheers!

As Australian residents we all have the right to health care through Medicare, a system partly funded by taxpayers, many of whom pay a Medicare levy of 2% of their taxable income. Your Medicare levy is reduced if your taxable income is below a certain threshold, meaning that some people may not have to pay the levy at all.

However, if you don’t have appropriate hospital cover and your annual income* is over $90,000 as a single, or over $180,000 as a couple/family then you could also be hit with the MLS. The family income threshold is increased by $1,500 for each MLS dependent child after the first child.

This means, when tax time rolls around, that recent pay rise that just tipped you over $90,000 suddenly isn’t looking so flash. That’s because the MLS starts at 1% and, if your annual income* continues to increase, it can be up to 1.5%. Certainly enough to make your eyes water.

But, if your annual income* is over the above thresholds and you take out ahm hospital cover you can wave goodbye to the MLS and say hello to a healthy peace of mind and, potentially, save some money at the same time. Talk about a win-win

Greetings everyone, please i want to ask, whats the average earning like in Australia for an MSC holder in Engineering,i have about a few friends doing very well over there, but each time i ask, they keep saying the pay is good without stating figures,i do not really know what they are into, but from their investment in Nigeria they appear to be doing really good,my reasons for asking is to help be make a decision on my migration options, anyone over there could help throw more light into the financial expectations, thanks.

First of all, you need to be aware that most employers don't particularly take Masters degrees into account... The academic requirement is usually a bachelors degree and that's it... Having a masters MIGHT give you an edge in the selection process. On the other hand it is equally able to sink your chances with some employers if they perceive you as being "Overqualified" (yes, there is such a thing.)

That said, if you do get a job in your field where your masters is taken into account while determining pay, it is unlikely for you to be paid below 80k..(conservative estimate, likely much higher) . Assuming of course you have experience to back it up..

Australia Humanitarian Visa is for protecting the rights of the refugees and provide them support. It comes under the international efforts for protecting the rights of refugees. It's full name is Australia Refugee and Humanitarian Program.

The country provide support to both offshore and onshore refugees. It comes under the subclass 200 of the Australian visa.

All the dangerous, poisononous, venomous, and any other '........ous' wildliife (which we have all read of and which some people still base their migration decision on smiley) sure exist in Australia; however, if you don't live too close to bushlands or reserves or in the countryside, chances are you might never come across any of them in decades of living here.

I've only seen live roos along the roadside maybe once or twice, and that was driving at dawn in some regional towns- other times have only been roadkills.

To fulfill your 'citizenship requirements', just visit a wildlife park and touch a roo grin The ones there are just lounging and won't punch you, haha.

Meanwhile, if you like beer, you'll definitely be spoilt for choice; there's a zillion brands to pick from.
Also, a visit to any brewery (which are quite commonplace) and you can order a tasting paddle/tray to sample all the beers the particular brewery makes. Pic 1 is just a random pub with beer 'on tap' (always mortuary standard wink), while pic 2 shows the choice of beers within my view at a liquor store. Pic 3 is a paddle I sampled, although the brewery made more than 10 beers.

Hi folks,

I want to enquire if it's possible to get Aussie visa with my credentials. I am a graduate of Marketing with zero work experience and roughly 3 million naira in my account. What's my best bet if I want to migrate to Australia on PR? Is it doable?

For PR, not yet as you don't have any experience. Maybe via study visa.
