Hope this mail meets you well.

 

We have receive communications from some of you that you were unable to meet the deadline and that application portal has closed. Really sorry to learn this because of the time and energy you have put into this already.

 

In line with this, I have placed a call to GEM office this morning letting them know that none of you received direct email communication from GEM about the deadline and that the side information you got about the deadline was too short. The response I got was that it has been closed and it is quite unlikely that it will be reopened but however, it will be escalated to the right authority since you did not receive email from GEM of the programme coordinators.

 

For those who were unable to apply, I would advise you give some more push. Here is their contact details:  info@bigportal.org.ng, 09082354317 Or 09084145219

The interview/inspection happened yesterday. I got the call the night before, so apparently they are in a hurry.

My friend's inspection was done in November last year but uptil now,he hasn't heard anything from them.

I believe everyone that has been recommended for 2nd tranche payment by Pwc will be paid even if it is on deadline day. For those in the performance Window currently being visited by monitors, please ensure your monitor does not leave without a video recording of your main business operation, because it is that video plus other report by the monitor that KPMG will review to decide if to approve you or not. I hear those under the performance window might get 1st and 2nd tranche paid at once, do not know how true this is though.

There's no other way to pay grantees of performance window as there's no time to split the grant into 1st and 2nd.

Hmm, he didn't ask for a video though as I am majorly a service provider.

However, get your books in order, profit & loss statement, cash flow records etc, they will take pictures

Great, i had mine on Friday but too much questions and pictures were taken. I just wonder when they will effect payment cos they did thesame thing last year and we are yet to get funding.

I also question the delay in funding and they said that is why they are carrying out this survey to ascertain our eligibility.

Though they say we should be hoping that we would be shortlisted for the grant on time.

You are free to ask them questions as well as they are free in talking with us.

The visit is just a routine check on how your business is doing and they will come up with a report base on the interview and how you answer the questions.

Yes, I submitted my application on 30th of Dec 2018. It was approved I think early February this year
