Nice thread. One classic that comes to mind is '[b][/b]When a child is Motherless' by Andrew Okogba. This book got me so emotional especially the part where he lost his mom in River Niger. Below is an excerpt from the book...

When a child is motherless, he lacks the tender hands of a mother who cares so much. His life is that of misery and sorrow. I got deliveries just last week of The Concubine by Elechi Amadi, Toads for Super by Chukwuemeka Ike, The New Man by Femi Ademiluyi and The Passport of Mallam Ilia which I just finished about an hour ago. Currently reading the Famished Road by Ben Okri. Any one that has other classics, please let me know if we can exchange.

I agree with you on that,I went to a bookstore in ibadan last month and I was spoilt of choice,I was almost reading it on the spot..the guy is so mystical yet simple,have u read the famished road..It looks new everytime I read it

You are wrong. She was not childless.
I can't remember clearly but she was beautiful but with a disability. One of her legs was shorter which made her walk funny. Her father was a quiet but well respected medicine man. Its a story of early child marriage, jealously, and the trails she faced growing up with a disability. Having to deal with taunts from her peers and others.
