AdetonaDami:It's just a suggested list, to help you remember some little things that you'd otherwise forget. The broom is that small one for ewedu and Shea butter is probably for hair/body. It would be expensive to get original raw Shea butter in Canada. The list can be found here; https://www.nairaland.com/3617393/living-canada-life-canadian-immigrant/246#65870220 25 Likes 25 Shares |

AdetonaDami: The link to the list is available on the first page of this thread. The Shea butter is to aid moisturizing...these Oyinbo moisturizer not enough for our skin o... Especially in Winter.b using Equate with shea butter but it's not heavy enough for winter . The broom is for some quick sweeping that modern broom (stick with brush) is a long thing 3 Likes |

Elektra008: Thank you. The CSR rolw e with TD Bank was a customer service/teller role. I was in the banking industry in Naija for a while. I believe fitting your CSR into an acceptable NOC should not be a big deal. There are NOCs for banking roles. |

raphrulz:This is the information on CPA BC website. Could you let us know the source of your info? The truth is that information was included as part of the requirement sometime ago and its been updated since last year April, which is why i asked people to research basic stuff for themselves. 2 Likes 1 Share

Kmgb1: I personally cannot come to such a strong and sensitive conclusion by hearing 'It's not fair' after so much have been said in some other language. I though she understood the language and I was going to say she should have reported the airline staff before boarding her flight - just so the offender is called to order and stopped from doing same to someone else. 10 Likes |

Zutlin: That reminds me of one of my trips to South Africa. I was taking a KLM flight from Johannesburg back to Toronto via Amsterdam. We were seating in the waiting area to board the aircraft and I realized I was the only black person. It was time to board the aircraft and we were on the line to hand out our boarding pass. After handing my boarding pass, I was on my way to enter the aircraft. However, there was a white South African agent standing and watching the passengers entering the aircraft. When he saw me, he wanted to see my passport. Something I didn't see him ask any of the other white travellers before me. No way, I was upset. I ask him, " Why only me? Why you didn't ask any of the other travellers for their passports?". In my mind this was a clear case of racial profiling. So, I needed an explanation. In a very calm and friendly manner, the white man explained to me that all the other travellers have the European Union passport. He said he could tell a European Union passport from a distance. And travellers with EU passports didn't need visas to go to Amsterdam. Given that my passport had a different color from everyone else's, he wanted to ensure I was authorized to travel to Amsterdam. After showing him my Canadian passport, he said "Thank you for your co-operation and have a safe trip" It wasn't the color of my skin as I originally thought 65 Likes 3 Shares |

Good day seniors and those not yet landed. I greet you all. I am awaiting PPR, so I decided to come here for information. I'd like to ask, how do you all get to easily pick the city\province to settle in? I need advice pls. I have over 10years banking experience in Marketing n customer service. Spouse's Field is community devpt, but ready to take on any legal well paying job Initially, my fears abt relocating was the weather. So I picked Ontario/GTA to settle. Spouse has a sibling in Saskatoon. She has been advising us to land in Saskatoon ist as she will help rent a place, help with furnishing like mattresses before we even land, employment applications, help take us around in the early days to enable us not spend much. She suggested that we can then move to any province we like. Is this wise? I've read that Saskatoon is really cold and will it really be easy to just start relocating later on? My son will be 4 by September and was hoping to enrol him in a school in Ontario by then and get working. However, with Saskatoon I guess that will be postponed by a year and I'll have to make do of part time jobs. What do you guys think? Is it really difficult to settle /integrate if don't know anyone in Ontario/GTA/Canada. People who were in this situation how did you do it Sorry for the long post 1 Like |
