osadebamen1:Japan unlike many other western countries is hard to survive without proper and legal visa status. As an island They lack land borders. Few foreigners and negligible people like you. Honestly you stand out. No employer will take you without legitimate papers. Due to police officers being idle, I can bet my head you will not go far. Language too. Please don’t ever think of illegally entering the country especially being a black Nigerian. The best way is get a school including language school (2 years). Be admitted. While in school get a Japanese lady , marry and get spouse visa. Trust me If you are focused, hardworker, polite while avoiding quick money schemes mentality associated with Nigerians, you will be having permanent residency in 3-4 years or nationality within 5 years. A Nigerian woman options are limited. They can hardly get a partner to marry them- sorry but I have to share the truth gathered over 16 years here. 12 Likes 4 Shares |

osadebamen1: My apologies. Me saying "dont be stupid" doesnt necessarily mean that i called you stupid. I was only telling you not to make stupid errors or mistakes such as what you wrote, that prompted me to say what i said. The cheapest airfare to Japan (give or take) is nothing less that 350/400k. My point is, if you are going to spend that sort of money on airfare alone, better make sure you are coming here the right way. This was the point i was trying to pass across. Sorry if you felt i insulted you. |

What does it take to apply as a research student? An agent was charging me #2m for Japan tourist visa with hope of getting work as soon as I land because he married to Japanese lady that has company over there. Me I don't have such money to give agent. Thank goodness I saw this thread. I really appreciate the contributors so far. |
Re: Japanese Visa And Travelling To Japan by Nobody: 2:08am On Jan 25, 2019 |
Rupect: For the bold, you need to visit universities' websites and read the requirements. Regarding meeting an agent, till date, I don't know why people meet them or even need one. Besides, if you go as a tourist, you cannot CHANGE the visa to student visa WHILE in Japan. You must return to Nigeria and apply for student's visa. For working visa, you also need authorisation to work. My suggestion is: request for him to apply authorisation to allow his company employ you thereby making you eligible for an application for a working visa. Changing from tourist visa to working visa without employment on ground is tantamount to committing a crime. |
Re: Japanese Visa And Travelling To Japan by blackbriar: 4:38am On Jan 25, 2019 |
Rupect: Very easy , easy as sending all the documents required by the university through Dhl or ems to the university. Your student visa is granted. |

Re: Japanese Visa And Travelling To Japan by blackbriar: 6:38am On Jan 25, 2019 |
Rupect: my little advice go to as much as many national universities website search and identify the programme you wish to enroll in. go through the professor or asst professor research background, is it same as yours? for exampele , is the professor research background on bridges, nanotechnology etc. if and when you do find the professor of your choosing based on his research background, send him an email of your intent to join the graduate program in his university. in the mail , attach your research proposal, ielts result and degree certificate. repeat this procedure to many professor in many universities as you may find on the internet. eventually some or one will reply you. that means he is interested in you....he will help you somehow administratively to smoothen things for you but you still have a lot to do . i advice national universities , they are well funded , bigger and have more international students.....you need international students to survive in japan. and national universities offer Japanese language courses for free. a few examples of sch universities are Hokkaido University, the most beautiful university in japan..it a tourist centre and university join together.Nagoya institute of technology, kyoto university, tsukkuba university, almighty tokyo university(this is for geniuses but try your luck ), okayama university etc research student programme is for 6 months , its like masters pre- degree course, where you get brushed up. for masters program you must attend an interview in person which makes the research program more necessary. ganbatte ...feel free to ask any question...i will try my best to answer as best as possible 3 Likes |

So I know 2 professors in the University of Aizu, Japan and I have talked to them them about wanting to join their team for my PhD in Computer science. They both accepted, but the problem is that they said I have to cover fees for application and admission and get myself down to Japan. The idea is that they have research grants that can cover my tuition and accommodation for my stay in Japan. The application fee is 30000 yen and the admission fee is 282000 yen. I know that the whole application process would be easier if I were in Japan. So the question is, can I get a student visa to travel to Japan without having got an admission yet with the intention of getting an admission once I am in Japan? I presently have just #600k and I do not think it would be enough to run the whole process. Another thing is that it would be easier for me to pay the admission fee If I am in Japan because my professor can help out with the money. 1 Like |

obakovich: Then contact the admin unit either department/faculty or general. Preferably department/faculty and request for the contact information of the desired supervisor. You could also try research institutes http://www.riken.jp/en/careers/programs/fpr/ https://www.jsps.go.jp/english/e-ippan/index.html 1 Like |

I'm sorry for my poor English and Sorry for say this. Japanese women are human like Nigerian peoples. Not tool for stay in Japan. I saw talking about marry Japanese women on here. If someone already in love with Japanese woman and planning marry with her, I can understand that. But what I saw it on here is like if someone wanna stay in Japan come to student Visa or working Visa, then get(marry) Japanese women. Sounds like not talking about love. I'm very sad. I'm sorry for if I'm misunderstanding that. But why someone wanna come to Japan for study or working, already talking about spouse Visa? When peoples will come and fall in love with Japanese woman, they will apply for that when time will come. Fake marriage is crime in Japan. Please don't think about marry with Japanese woman for Visa. Please. Marriage is supposed to be for love, not for Visa. If someone will do that(for just Visa), will put bad name for Nigerian peoples. That is very bad and sad. I never mean to insulting. But if I made someone feel so bad, I'm very sorry and if I'm misunderstanding, I'm very sorry. 4 Likes |

And I wanted assist if I could tell something what I know. But many peoples are already know many things about Japan. But when I saw about marriage like Visa. I was sad I know most of Nigerian peoples are good peoples. I never mean to insulting for Nigerian peoples. But if I made you feeling like I'm insulting, I'm very sorry. |
