QUESTION - "So my wife and I met each three and a half years ago at a gym her father use to manage in upstate NY Rochester to be exact. I was actually a personal trainer at the gym, and she did child care.

For the eight months that I worked there we became really great friends and eventually started dating and grew love for each other. As time went on I told her that I no longer wanted to be stagnant with my career as a personal trainer

I wanted to travel and work so I told her that I wanted to join the US navy to work and travel the world as an military police officer.

Upon leaving for boot camp we knew we wanted to be with each other for the rest of our live, she was pregnant with our first born child Silas. Long story short we ended up getting married before I left for boot camp.

After boot camp and A-school I’ve received my orders to FALLON NV NAVAL air station a drastic change form were we both lived we were completely isolated in our own ways in other words it is heck no black people and the nearest store and malls is an hour away .

Her, brand new military spouse pregnant, hormonal, isolated to the house, stripped of all of the basics, family, social life, no were to work and get a job to pursue her career and passion of cooking.

Me I kinda had it tough but easier cuz I had a job and just did what I was told and got payed only to return home to a depressed and miserable wife. Months went on and she finally delivered our first born a very joyous moment for the both of us.

But soon not so great cause I wasn’t meeting her needs as a husband coach friend everything she basically believed our whole marriage was a mistake even before having our child.

She was upset with most things one would try to deal with there husband, everything to hygiene to finance, to speaking up for myself and not being afraid of what opinions I had about her or anyone else for that matter I had zero confidence in myself.

We received counseling on base, everything went well for her that was. She had no problem telling the chaplain what she despised about me she felt like she was raising a child. I just sat there and said nothing through both sessions.

We eventually got into a heated argument and both agreed she should go home to finish school work and make money. Boy it was a rough 6 months with out her, I had a relationship with her and my son through FaceTime daily all the way across the country.

From time to time I would break down and cry and beg for them back. Her and my son eventually moved back and everything seem to be fine.

Our second year we went through the same thing everything that bothered her before about me happed again this time I threatened her that if she left I’d take my son away from her, bad idea.

It all brings us to today same situation only I recorded everything she’s saying that bothers her about me. She says she feels that she’s the only one that’s keeping this marriage alive, she had enough of me not trying to motivate, support, and be honest with her, to stop being so wishy washy with my decision and to be honest and open with her.

She’s an open book, she feels like she’s going through the motions with this marriage and she says she had enough. We are leaving soon on orders to Spain even though I look forward to it she doesn’t because she for one has to start over again, and she feels like I’m not being my true honest self around her.

She doesn’t like to be the one to always start the conversations, the fun and everything else she says the only thing I’m good for is paying the bills.

She says she wants out but continues to ask if I’m okay she says she has no more attraction towards me and that she better by herself than with me. Again we have a counseling session Wednesday night is she truly done with me?

Will she ever become attracted to me? How do I motivate a strong black woman who is confident and knows what she wants? I love her and my son very much and can’t bear the thought of her or my son being raised by another man. How do I save my marriage?"

We keep telling men, when a woman no longer feels any fire towards you, let her go! Separation. Pure and simple. She needs some other experience to rekindle the glow. And if the glow never comes back, it was never meant to be.

When a partner continues feeling 'tied down' by another, it is an indication of worse things to come. Especially when it's the woman feeling this way. You know, eventually, she might come to realise the guy was the right kind for her but the fireworks in between time for realisation are sometimes deadly. Better to let each other be for sometime.
