alBHAGDADI:and mind you sleeping with my daughter or my mum is against the individual of my country(Nigeria) and my society they've been observing it before the arrival of Christianity,so there's no point doing it |

Some books of the bible were removed and some were added in relation to what the generation of that time needs. Why haven't our generation done theirs. The only commandment Jesus wants you to keep is LOVE your neighbor as your self. you then live your life in relation to your peoples culture . |

alBHAGDADI:Stop confusing yourself....what is the meaning of CHANGE in scriptures Hebrews 7:12 since you know its very meaning? Or let me make it simpler for you to comprehend...what to you is the meaning of CHANGE? so how come the new law looks very much like the old?Whether there are similarities between the new and old is not the issue here! Atleast you have admitted, from your statements, that the law was done away with and replaced! Greek Word Pronunciation: al-LAS-oh Strong’s Number: 236 This is a word that comes from allos, meaning “another of a different kind.” Allasso means “to make other than it is; to cause one thing to cease and another to take its place.” It appears only 6 times in the New Testament. |

alBHAGDADI:there is no Story of my people eating each other, ohh before I forget I heard that there is a place in Nigeria where people are eaten, maybe that's where you come from, but my own place is not like that, cos the gods of the village don't take such. .. |

openmine:Stop going back to the Greek, a language you and I don't speak nor understand. Where did I say the law has been done away with? I was only quoting you. You say it has been done away with, yet I showed you the new replacement, according to you, still has many similarities with the old. It shows the old never got done away with. It only went through a change. If you change the interior of your house, does that mean it is the entire house that got changed? As long as the same building still stands, then it only went through changes, not replacement. |

There are laws and there is commandment, the laws were mostly created buy the Jewish people in accordance with the culture there, but the commandment was giving to Moses by God himself, as a Nigerian the Jewish laws of the old testament doesn't apply to me but d commandment does.. and as a Christian Jesus laws in the new testament applies to me . My opinion |

OpenYourEyes1:I think we both it's not the same, the verses i posted mentioned - Leviticus 25:45 Moreover of the children of the strangers that do sojourn among you, of them shall ye buy - buying children from strangers(im assuming outsiders i.e. people who not the brothers you mentioned) so this is not voluntary employment by any means. But anyway. So you're in support too then? Of the laws of the old testament, particularly the examples I've given? |

I find this thread appaulling. But no surprise. People have always picked and chosen from the bible as it suits them and never taken it as a whole. I've seen the owner if this thread repeatedly tell objectors to go sleep with their mothers cuz they don't agree. That is the least if the things in the old testament. In the old testament there are commands on slavery, genocide, instantly striking and killing someone for suggesting you follow other Gods and all sorts of atrocities. But you guys conviniently ignore it and when brought to light attempt to justify or dance around it. Absolutely appauling ![]() If ALL the laws and commands from the old testament were indeed heeded Christians would be the most dangerous people on the planet |

alBHAGDADI:Romans 10: 1 - 11 Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved. 2 For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. 3 For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. 4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth. 5 For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them. 6 But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above ![]() 7 Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.) 8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; 9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. |

[quote author=BeLookingIDIOT post=76505251]What proofs do you want ![]() That there are not more than 700 laws in the OT,or that many of them weren't abrogated in the NT and that you will have to be nuts to practice them in this modern world. Sorry,my posts are meant for sensible people...I'm not here to argue with you.[/quote pls remember that that there are God's commandments & Jewish man made laws |

alBHAGDADI:I'm going to ask a simple question. Do you follow all the laws of the old testament? If the answer is no, then why do you have to cherry pick the one that suit you? |

alBHAGDADI:Jesus did not ask you to pay tithe. The only place he spoke of tithe was to say woe to you Pharisees...lol how you ppl see that place in Matthew as commendation beats my imagination. The latter part of the verse saying not neglecting the tithe was simply he is still alive and under the laws. Anything contrary to that would be seen as blasphemy |
| Re: Are We Truly Not To Obey The Old Testament Laws Anymore? by alBHAGDADI(op): 12:43pm On Mar 10, 2019 |
ace1:You do not understand the passage you quoted. Even though I bolded part is still not clear to you. It simply says one can of attain righteousness on to salvation by observing the law. This means that if you want to make heaven, it is only through Jesus and the righteousness he gives those who believe in him. Trying to make heaven through the works of the law will get you doomed because you can never pass every law. If you fail one, you become guilty of all. It is only believe in Jesus Christ that hives eternal life. This doesn't mean we are not to over his laws while on Earth. Otherwise, there won't t be sin in having sex with same sex or one's parents |

Dhumancanvas:You find it difficult differentiating commands to Israel as a nation from the laws of God. God commanded Israel to wipe out Nations who sinned terribly even against Israel. That commanded was to the army of Israel. We can't obey such because we are not the army nor the nation of Israel. Buy God's laws are for all those who believe in him. |
