As a retired staff of the Federal Ministry of Defence with years of meritorious service and some knowledge of what happens at the ministry, I can say authoritatively that Nigerian army cadre from one star brigadier general up to four star full general is the citadel of corruption, half-baked competence, backward mentality, out-dated thinking faculty, unrepentant looters of public funds, expert in procurement over-invoicing, specialists in kick-back bribe taking from weapons purchase funds through OEM, not interested in modernization of equipment, unpatriotic men, careless plan-less vision-less humans, merciless on their own country, merciless on civilians, merciless on lower file soldiers fresh recruits privates up to old warrants NCOs, the most technologically nonchalant , fraudulent liars deceiving the ignorant FGN that has no military equipment understanding, deceptive liars fraudsters and connivers with MoD Perm Secs and DGs in doing very wrong procurement of weapons for Nigerian army and deliberately avoiding the best affordable effective necessary weapons to defend Nigeria from rising rival powers like rival Chad or strong insurgents like Boko Haram, Maghreb-Sahel ISIL, Savannah Bandits, etc that have turned Nigeria to same level of shameful ranking with Iraq, Afghanistan, Somalia.

ATGM funds have been provided for repeatedly and looted repeatedly, by diversion and exclusion fraud tactics. All presidents since 1999 seem to look the other way pretending not to see it just to satisfy the unpatriotic unprofessional generals from staging coup-d'etat overthrowing governments from 1999 to 2019, so they are indirectly given free hand to steal weapons money indirectly through the disbursement system so that audit cannot trace it, as it is done by wrong type of procurement including buying second hand for the price of brand new, buying Toyota Hilux - Landcruiser instead of IFV BMP, buying unguided shells instead of ATGM PGM SSM that have been used all over the world by fellow third world countries. Example, Nigerian Cobra APC has only light bullet guns, but Rwandan Cobra APC has Red Arrow ATGM because that is best firepower.

Today after spending over USD 30 billion on defence both regular and extra budgets 1999 to 2019, of which USD 20 billion was appropriated to Nigerian army, no single ground to ground missile was purchased by Nigerian army in deliberate diversion of funds by smart stealing.

The hearts of 7/8 of Nigerian army generals is grossly dark wicked dishonest corrupt unpatriotic unethical unprofessional untrustworthy, poorly informed about modernization, unwilling to learn, not interested in correction from those who know better, in their Nigerian arrogance of the ignorant who thinks because he passed NDA courses and 3 month theory paper course overseas, he is now equal to a Russian army general with his brain based inside his Abalti Barracks in Yaba.

They deny world standard training on infantry tactics to privates up to warrant NCOs, eating money for overseas training that NAF and NN does for airmen and ratings of low file. The average NA infantry man cannot match world standard because he is denied good training which these boys are willing to receive if given opportunity to be trained by best academies overseas or by trainers invited to give field craft training in Kaduna to raise the standard of our privates up to WOI. You cannot give Enyimba coaching to players and expect Chelsea performance from them on football field.

Nigerian army generals have no plan for future modernization, all their minds now is illegal personal profiteering from Boko Haram war at the expense of true national victory. For those little kids on internet who have not been career educated in real ground warfare, who now say Nigeria does not need ATGM with year 2020 around the corner, they are ignorant oppositions to progress of Nigeria, so maybe when they grow up to become 30 year old varsity graduates with a job and go to Apapa Tin Can tokunbo car market they will buy 1960 Peugeot 404 as personal car in 2020 since they wish their country's army is to use unguided weapons into next year 2020, they should buy Volkswagen Beetle 1500 made in 1960 as family car.

Clean up your kiddo ignorance by googling the cost of ATGM made in the East Europe or Asia at peanut USD 500,000 for full system pre-loaded full of missiles, and check the speed of the missile as in faster than fighter jets, then find out meaning of fire-and-forget mode missile lock-on. You comment on what you don't understand, but we know kids will be kids.

With a country hijacked by over-greedy army generals and Ministry of Defence Perm Secs - DGs that Nigeria has with senators that cannot supervise DEFSEC with basic knowledge of basic army equipment, full defeat of Boko Haram will be uphill task, and to face patriotic modernized army like Ethiopia will be total disgraceful defeat for Nigeria versus Ethiopian patriotic army generals and MoD yet with no oil money, a defence budget far below that of Nigeria. Your FGN always appoints nonchalant ministers of defence not interested in defending Nigeria, but appointed to compensate for supporting president's campaign fund for election. Danalisco they put there to help us win war versus Boko Haram is not interested in building modern army, and since lootable funds are not enough to share with so many generals, Danalisco refused to ministerially defend Nigeria any more, he abandoned job to chase governorship of a state where he can eat more money, Nigeria gave you honour you dont deserve, to be our war-time defence minister, nepotism and cash not merit, got you that job.

Nigerian army generals, one day God's judgement will catch all of you eating weapons money by tricks, you blame NAF for not giving you hundred per cent air support, after you stole by diversion all your own army budget for modern armoured corps third generation main battle tanks and modern infantry corps third generation ATGM that would have given all your FOBs solid defence and you wont need NAF to fly till aircraft break in pieces from air fatigue in excess sorties.

NAF used its money well buying 3 modern JF17Thunders investment of $188 million, 6 modern Armed AW109M tank burster helicopters, if NAF looted her own budget funds how will they have aircraft to give you army generals close air support versus Boko Haram? You see NAF buying 3 JFT, 6 Armed AW109M, 15 A29, hundreds of Chinese guided air defence, surface attack missiles, GPS guided bombs, 200 American laser guided bombs, 400 American guided air to surface missiles, 300 Russian guided air to surface missiles, but you army looter generals cannot buy one single missile for your army to win the 10 year long war versus Boko Haram that has killed over 1,000 soldiers and policemen?

Is there no end to your greed and unpatriotic selfishness? Until one day the privates to warrants that you turn to cannon-fodder wasted lives denied quality training quality weapons turn against you in mutiny and send you to join greedy thieving Albadesco yonder?

- Chuks

Not bitter because you retired me prematurely or that you withhold my pensions for refusing to join your personal enrichment while diluting Nigeria's defence capability with inferior army weapons now displayed as ancient history in war memorial museums of other countries while you got budget funds to buy exactly one quarter of what Egyptian army has which is what you demanded from FGN in the documents you submitted without giving specific details as usual of what you will buy so that you cannot be held accountable by asset acquisition audit committees.

Have met with a lot of NA generals; so arrogant, backwards & monumentally corrupt.
The NA needs overhauling and serious restructuring, on a final note the federal government as to find a way to stop corruption in the army.

Looks like NAF has acquired Marauder mine protected vehicle from paramount group South Africa for SOC
Looks like this variant has a Jordanian turret

My all time fav MRAP! Its got the best protection level for its class exceeding that of the heaviest vehicles like the Cougar. Also its half the weight of the latter at 10 T with better mobility allowing it to chase militia/rebels/bandits and conventional forces off road at speed.

NAF DESTROYS TERRORISTS’ VEHICLE, LOGISTICS INFRASTRUCTURE AT TUMBUN SALE, TUMBUN ALLURA IN BORNO STATE

The Air Task Force (ATF) of Operation LAFIYA DOLE has destroyed Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists’ vehicle and some logistics infrastructure at Tumbun Sale and Tumbun Allura on the fringes of Lake Chad in Borno State. The operation was conducted on 8 March 2019 on the heels of intelligence reports indicating the presence of ISWAP fighters along with some vehicles and logistics support items well camouflaged under the dense vegetation within the settlements. Accordingly, a Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Alpha Jet, supported by an Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) platform, was dispatched to attack the terrorists’ hideouts in successive strikes resulting in damage to several structures as well as the destruction of one of the terrorists’ vehicles, which was seen engulfed in flames.

The NAF, operating in concert with surface forces, will sustain its efforts to completely destroy all remnants of the terrorists in the Northeast.
