[I honestly don't yet have the hang ofusing this forum so I apologise in advance for a tacky post.

My US visa has expired and I want to reapply. I came across a question that asked if I've ever been deported. I guess this applies to any and all countries. I was deported from the UK about 10 years ago. I have been to the US about 2 times on my last issued visa. I don't know if answering this question honestly will work against me. The question didn't appear on my last application form. Can I start a new application? Since I've not yet submitted the application?

Thank ypu

That question I believe should be a "US deportation" specific one. Try answering YES and see the options it brings to you first....

Please guys quick response..My friend applied for visa via drop box in November but was invited for interview in December. She finally got a date for the 14th of March. The purpose of her trip is vacation/attend a wedding...A few days ago she found out she is pregnant and her interview being so close she started contacting hospitals but yet to get a correspondence given that she found out barely a week to her interview. Her purpose of visit remains valid as she still plans to go for the wedding in May but now that she is a few weeks pregnant, the story has changed...What can she do given her close interview date...

Secondly has anyone gotten date recently for interview..I am still unable to get a date o..Its been 1 month now..I have written and called but still discretion response

My opinion, since she's just going for wedding, attend the interview and don't FORGET to inform the officer that you would be birthing in 9months time. Cos getting a doc at month zero and you not based there, I don't know how that would work.

In the spirit of giving back

Brief History

I applied for a B1/B2 Visa in 2016 with hubby.(hubby was renewing, mine was first issue) sent change of intent letter. I used Emory hospital in Atlanta 2017. Hospital bill was $4325(including epidural), Doctor's bill was 1350. I had 3 pediatrician visit ( 250).

We submitted our dropbox application Dec 11 2018, it was a very long wait. We got the 221g letter Jan 21 2019, we were able to schedule our interview for Jan 27th .

VO good morning, passport please
DH and I - good morning as we passed the passport to her
VO - checking through the passport, what was the purpose of your last visit to the United states
DH - Childbirth
VO- you are Canadian permanent residents?
DH- yes
Vo- how much did you pay?
DH- About 6500
VO can I see the invoice of your bill.
We passed the initial bill sent by the hospital, stating the amount paid, itemized bill, receipt of payment, letter addressed to the us border agency for my poe then, doctors bill and all the peds bill
Looking through and scrutinizing every page
Vo why did the hospital give you a discount
Me - we were not given a discount, we were sent a bill and we paid what was sent
Vo - why am I seeing a total of 11,000? What is the 7,000 for
Me- as indicated on the bill, the 7000 was ob flat rate of which I dnt use a doctor from the hospital, I used doctor with privileges in the hospital. Which is the other bill of 1350
Vo - I still dont understand the 7000
Hubby tried to explain but she still seemed confused( we were as confused as she was)
She took the Bill and left asking us to give her a few minutes
After about 1 minute
Vo- I need time to go through your bill. She started typing
Vo - you are Canadian permanent residents?
Hubby- yes
Vo continued typing
Vo- how much did you say the childbirth cost?
Hubby- 6500
She was still typing
VO - what is the purpose of this visit?
Hubby- to visit family before we move finally to Canada.
VO- how long do you intend to stay in United states? She was still typing
Hubby - 2 weeks
VO hands us white paper for administrative processing and told us to keep checking our profile for their decision

I checked the profile everyday. There was no change till 5th of March when the case was updated but still on administrative processing. By 7th of March, the status changed to issued to the glory of God.

You need to tell the truth if asked if shes pregnant but if not, she can skip it and continue her vacation story but she will still be queried upon return else just go for your vacation and come back to naija jejely if your baby isnt planned for the vacation time and save yourself questioning troubles or deliberately lying.

That's what we as Nigerians do, we abuse everything. Pretty soon, Canadian CBSA will start acting like their US CBP mates. Na wa sha

Actually Canada is a lot more stringent than the US with regards to birth tourism. You might want to google birth/maternity tourism Canada to infom yourselves better before you make a decision.

Im not sure its the abuse part, I think its the deceitful way we Nigerians try to do things, always doing things by lying and cutting corners. If we as a nation were a nation known for our honor and integrity, intead of our scam and curruption culture in addition to reinforcing this in the lies some say during interviews, I believe a different song would be playing as it is in other countries that go for maternity tourism to the US without any glitches.

Right now, I believe the best way is honesty during your interview, and to those who can pay more, do so. Others may also way to call back their doctors to pay the discounts since this seems to be the “excuse” the VO’s are using, as someone mentioned

Guess this interview is the outcome of the last birth where you had complications. So maybe the bill during the complication was attended to.

Actually wanted to ask yesterday at what time in all of her posts you read that she paid higher? I could see she didn’t know the implication of using that term “I had complications” vis-à-vis US child birthing. Now, we see how much she paid in all her 5 months stay, complications coupled with having a family member in the US (if she “mistakenly” get on US soil again, the likelihood of her not exiting is very high now IMO), one can almost advise her to kiss US bye, but what do we know, EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE.

You can reapply from 6 months time. Who was going to the US to buy a car amongst you? It’s your Brother’s that’s paining me, he had no business being on the same interview appointment with you, they ought to have yanked you off his and your mother’s appointment I swear, I’m thinking your own wahala rubbed off on him though I guess your transcript has some omissions particularly concerning your brother. Something wrong with virtually all the bolded above in this you and your family case. The 18weeks your mum did in the US was on account of your childbirth or what? So many other advantages likely took her off the hook ahead of your brother methinks. $1050! Issorai!!!

Okay first Dnt use agent again
Try call the hospital and ask if you have pending bill
I doubt if your total bill plus ped plus doc is $1050 plus complications u had
See how u can clear d old bill if there’s any before u reapply
