OPERATION YANCIN TAFKI: BOKO HARAM LEADERSHIP OVERWHELMED AND IN DISARRAY

this is all heartwarming news, someone actually stated here that their leadership might have been compromised, the vehicles look like an airstrike took them out, no bullet holes like we usually see just burnt vehicles so this is clearly the handwork of NAF pilots, I'm not surprised NAF released airstrike videos yesterday. although it looks like NA soldiers were in the area so they came in and did mop up and battle damage assessment.

OPERATION YANCIN TAFKI: BOKO HARAM LEADERSHIP OVERWHELMED AND IN DISARRAY

As an aftermath of sustained air and land operations of the ongoing Operation YANCIN TAFKI, information from captured and defected Boko Haram fighters indicates that the leadership of Boko Haram terror network has been overwhelmed and are currently in disarray. The former fighters who are receiving humane attention further divulged that morale and fighting spirit of Boko Haram fighters is very low as a result of growing insecurity and the inability to replenish stranded fighters in the islands with food, medicine and ammunition.

It would be recalled that an integral part of Operation YANCIN TAFKI has been a series of well coordinated day and night Human Intelligence as well as Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions conducted by the Air Forces of the Lake Chad Basin countries; Chad, Cameroon, Niger and Nigeria, leading to successful and devastating air interdictions which have destroyed Boko Haram logistic facilities and fighters in TUMBUM GINI, ABADAM, AREGE, TUMBUN REGO and DAGAYA environs between 7 and 11 March 2019 . Additionally, In the last 4 weeks of the Operation, about 70 Boko vehicles; mostly Gun Trucks, facilities; such as fuel dumps, weapons and ammunition have been destroyed.

Furthermore, since the commencement of OPERATION YACIN TAFKI several terrorists have surrendered while others are battle - weary and have indicated interest to surrender. Morale of fighters is at its lowest, while desperation has also set in, leading to intrigues and in-fighting. Reliable sources say internal crisis led to change of Boko Haram leadership on 3 March 2019, it could be recalled that the Islamic State West Africa Province announced the sack of the former Boko Haram Chief, Abu Mus'ab AL Barnawi and the appointment of Abu Abdullahi Ibn Umar AL Barnawi.

The frequent execution of Boko Haram Commanders and fighters which have been observed in the past few months as well as the recent replacement of its leadership are clear indications of the effectiveness of recent past and ongoing OPERATION YACIN TAFKI. The Multinational Joint Task Force is therefore poised to sustain current operations until Boko Haram capitulates and its leadership brought to justice.

An ill disciplined service man (All calibre of uniforms) would extort even just armed with a baton

I would assume you mean the Police do something about indiscipline before giving them access to these weapons. Anything outside that would be equal to average layman fears and sending MOPOL in crisis areas (Check Zamfara, ND creeks, NE) underarmed

Speaking from the perspective of a young military enthusiast , I THINK THE NIGERIA ARMY NEEDS TO STEP UP ON:

Troops Welfare and TREATMENT in the NCO cadre.
I think this dampens morale, causes grumbling, neglect, I dont care attitudes etc. I don't think BH fighters are usually maltreated and their welfare well taken care of.
If Cameroon can pay its soldiers very much higher than that of the NA, then I think a presidential review need to take place.

TROOPS OF OPERATION LAFIYA DOLE NEUTRALISE MORE BOKO HARAM TERRORISTS
...CAPTURE GUN TRUCK AND ARMS

The dogged troops of 152 Battalion successfully crushed some members of the Boko Haram Terrorists ( BHTs) when they attempted to infiltrate their location yesterday, 11 March 2019 at about 1900hrs around Bula - Yobe, Banki axis in Borno State.

The Terrorists in their futile attempt came in with several Gun Trucks mounted with Anti Aircraft Guns and Motorcycles. The troops engaged the terrorists with superior fire power and inflicted heavy casualty on the BHTs and their equipment. The fierce gun battle set confusion and disorganisation in the terrorists camp, withdrawing in disarray while the troops gave them a hot pursuit. In that process, unconfirmed number of terrorists were neutralised while several others fled with gunshot wounds.

A Gun Truck mounted with Anti Aircraft Gun and several Motorcycles belonging to the BHTs were destroyed while one Gun truck mounted with Anti Aircraft Gun and Mortar Carrier were captured from the terrorists.

The Theatre Commander, Operation Lafiya Dole, Major General Benson Akinroluyo through the Acting General Officer Commanding (GOC) 7 Division Nigerian Army and Commander Sector 1, Operation Lafiya Dole, Brigadier General Abdulmalik Bulama Biu extolled their effort and sacrifice and also conveyed the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Tukur Yusuf Buratai's special commendation for their dogged fighting spirit and brilliance. He urged them to maintain the aggressive posture and sustain the offensive.

NAF INTENSIFIES AERIAL SURVEILLANCE, PATROLS OVER KADUNA, ABUJA-KADUNA HIGHWAY

In continuation of efforts to enhance security in Kaduna State and its environs, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), working with other security agencies, has intensified aerial surveillance over identified hotspots and flashpoints in the State while sustaining its air patrol along the Abuja-Kaduna Highway. Some of the areas covered in the surveillance missions include Gonin Gora, Kajuru, Kujama, Kasuwar Maganin and surrounding settlements. The air patrols, on the other hand, are focused on portions of Abuja-Kaduna Highway, which had thitherto been susceptible to the activities of armed robbers and kidnappers.

It may be recalled that the NAF conducted a “Show of Force” Exercise in Katari village, one of the identified criminal hotspots along the Abuja-Kaduna Highway, on 9 February 2019. The exercise, which combined aerial and ground operations by NAF Special Forces (SF) and Regiment personnel, sent a stern warning signal to criminal elements, that the NAF and other security agencies are ready to engage them both from the air and on ground to frustrate their nefarious activities. The NAF will sustain its aerial surveillance, coupled with armed vehicular patrols, along the Highway, Rail Line and other areas in the State to ensure security of citizens as well as safe travels for law-abiding commuters.

Just thinking, it won't be a bad idea for Nigeria to seal a kinda deal trade by Bater with say Russia or any Super power, where they directly have assess to our many untapped resources (which bandits and aliens are illegally enriching themselves to the detriment of the state esp in the North) under the supervision of a board made up of the most sincere and honest breed of Nigerians This deal will see them nuture and build an industrial military complex where we can manufacture our hardwares and softwares locally, or at worst exchange the raw materials for sophisticated weapons of all shades, atleast this would bring the exchange of raw cash to almost zero and thus cutting corruption in weapons procurement to the barest minimum.
I think this can be made possible if the right framework for this is designed. We should use what we have to get what we want, this can also be extended to other sectors such as Power etc.
Osun is idly siting on a gold deposit worth $6bn, or is Kogi state that has more than 10 untapped natural resources, don't want to even mention Jos, Kaduna, Zamfara(because I fit vex tear my Nigerian passport relocate finally to canada) in Enugu to dig well in some areas is becoming a challenge because of the tendency for coal to deposits to be excavated in the process, I could go on and on.
Caveat: The Chinese are an exception to this biko cos if them give does guys free access to our resources them fit even make sand scarce for Nigeria sef with the way wey dem go take mine our resources.
