Yorubas are like the Whites who control their economies just like Yorubas control the economy of Nigeria with massive industries.
Traders do not control the economy of any nation, industries do.
Have you ever asked yourself why Ogun state is more developed than the entire SE and andwhy and why they generate IGR more than all Igbo states combined?
Yorubas are born developers, I mean real developers.Their history speaks for them, development wise.

Did Anthony Joshua,Olu Jacobs,Bayo Ogunlesi, Kase Lawal etc all made their names in Yorubaland?
Tayo Amusan built the biggest mall in Igboland.
Chicken Republic is in Anambra.
Proforce in P harcourt etc and Yorubas do not leave Yorubaland o.
Yorubas are the biggest black entrepreneurs in UK, Canada etc but they do not leave their comfort zone....Yorubaland, abi?
The truth is they are not many in your SE beause the place is not lucrative and productive enough.
Yorubas travel a lot and they are all over the world making their nation proud and they are the most successful Nigerians in diaspora.
Yorubas send more foreign exchange to Nigeria than any other.

What's wrong with you and why are you playing their game?

Just call them the most brilliant, the richest, the most awesome tribe in the world. Pay lip service to their fragile egos. They need it desperately now grin

A Yoruba man owns a street in Enugu... There are Yorubas in the East.

When Tinubu started his ethnic politics, most of your people said Igbos don't sell lands to non igbos, most said east is not developed.

Look at the first line of my post that you quoted and you will see I stated: "most of you who say the east is not developed can't afford half plot of land in the east".

Why did I say this? Because lands in the East is pretty expensive, including on villages. No jokes... In a village in the SW, you can find land for 200-300k but in the east, you won't get for 1M.

Another reason I made that statement because your brothers who spew such nonsense about the undevelopment of the east are not exposed beyond the SW, never traveled far and are broke.

The ones you mentioned as having businesses in the SE WILL never say the East is undeveloped because they have traveled, they are exposed beyond the SW, they are not broke.

I have challenged a few, including on nairaland, among those who say Igbos don't sell lands to non igbos to bring their money and up to this minute, none has taken me up on that offer. So what does that tell you? It means they are just peddling fake rumors around.

An average igbo man know more about your land in the South West than the reverse. Even a Northerner is more willing to travel far within Nigeria...

We all know there are Yorubas in the SE but they are not up to 50,000.
Igbos are more than 5 million in the SW.We have the largest number and the most successful Igbos living in Yorubaland especially Lagos than anywhere in the world even Igboland.
For your spurious claim...read this.
Igboland is developed in its own class but not as developed as Yorubaland even excluding Lagos.

10 Most-Expensive Luxury Real Estate Locations In Nigeria.

Demand for luxury real estate is growing in Nigeria, and so are prices.

Data from PrivateProperty.com.ng, Nigeria’s largest property portal, was used to identify 10 of the most-expensive luxury real estate locations in Nigeria, according to VenturesAfrica.

Buyers of these luxury residences are mainly expatriates and non-residents operating businesses in Nigeria, the report said. Most residents cannot afford properties in these areas.

Nigeria’s capital city, Lagos has four of the 10 most-expensive locations. Abuja has three. Ibadan, Abeokuta and Port Harcourt also made the list with some of the most expensive properties in the country. There are other places in Nigeria with expensive property that are not listed here, the report said.

10. Ibara in Abeokuta (Ogun State) – 80 million naira/$500,000

High prices are forcing many out of the Lagos real estate market, VenturesAfrica reports. Abeokuta’s real estate market is growing fast as people look to outlying locations outside Lagos.

9. Alalubosa GRA in Ibadan (Oyo State) – 100 million naira/$625,000

Ibadan has been regarded by some as the most underdeveloped city in the world, but is started living up to its potential in the past few years.

8. Lekki Scheme I, Lekki (Lagos State) – 140 million naira/$875,000

The island of Lekki has been home to some of the most expensive property in Lagos, but demand for more luxury has pushed it down to No. 8 on this list, the report said. You can buy property for $875,000 in Lekki.

7. GRA Phase 2 in Port Harcourt (Rivers State) – 145 million naira/$906,250

Port Harcourt is home to many expatriates, many of whom work for oil companies in this
oil-rich city. Other buyers here include wealthy individuals who want to keep their money locally.

6. Ikeja GRA, in Ikeja (Lagos State) – 250 million naira/$1,562,500

Ikeja GRA is an integral part of the suburb of Ikeja. The GRA, or government reservation area, was created during the colonial period as a high-end residential area. Many wealthy Nigerians who want the quiet life choose this area and don’t mind paying $1.5 million or more to get it. You’d find several expats here to, VenturesAfrica reports.

5. Nicon Town in Lekki (Lagos State) – 320 million naira/$2,000,000

Nicon Town in Lekki is one of the emerging real estate markets in Lagos, with property costing more than $2 million.

4. Jabi in Abuja (Federal Capital) – 400 million naira/$2,500,000

Nigeria’s capital city comes in at No. 4 with property at Jabi costing at least $2.5
million. Many Nigerian politicians have homes in this area.

3. Asokoro in Abuja (Federal Capital) – 418 million naira/$2,612,500

One of the major districts in Abuja, Asokoro is an upscale area. It is home to the Nigerian Presidential Complex aka State House; Aso Rock (a 400-meter rock monolith and the city’s most noticeable feature); the Economic Community of West African States, (ECOWAS), National Intelligence Agency and the World Health Organization (WHO) office. Residential property is expensive here.

2. Maitama in Abuja (Federal Capital) – 430 million naira /$2,687,500

An area occupied by embassies and high commissions, Maitama ranks No. 2 on this list. Property here can cost $2.7 million or more.

1. Banana Island in Lagos (Lagos State) – 450 million naira ($2.81 million)

A man-made island in the Lagos Lagoon, Banana Island is slightly curved in shape – like a banana. It has one of Nigeria’s highest densities of millionaires within its boundaries, VenturesAfrica reports.

A three-bedroom apartment typically sells for $625,000 on Banana Island and a five-bedroom house can cost $2.81 million. Due to the cost of property, rentals are popular here. Rent for a three-bedroom apartment can go as high as $63,000 per year.

Banana Island residents include billionaire Mike Adenuga, chairman of Globacom; and Iyabo Obasanjo, daughter of a former Nigerian president.
Other notable island residents include offspring of famous Nigerians including Kola Abiola, son of the popular late businessman Moshood Kashimawo Olawale “MKO” Abiola; and Saayu Dantata, son of the late Alhassan Dantata, a Northern Nigerian kola nut seller and considered the wealthiest man in West Africa at the time of his death in 1955.

Hahaha hah ah... If you don't know please ask. Onitsha, Oba, Nkpor, Obosi, Nnewi, Nsugbe, etc are villages ordinarily, but they're too developed more than Abeokuta, Akure, Osogbo these are your capital.

Without the help of Federal Government, making Lagos the capital of Nigeria, thereby gifting it bridges, Airport, Seaport, Railway and roads, it will still look like Abeokuta with mud houses.

I wanna disagree on a point u raised..
PS = I be ezigbo nwafor Igbo 4rm 042 before una go tag me afonja and discredit my input.

Point 15! I think University of Ibadan lead d way in terms of influential alumni in Nigeria..
UNN coming second. In the academia they trump Unn.

They have people like Adiele Eberechukwu Afigbo d first person to receive a doctoral degree in Nigerian university. Chinua Achebe,, we know how many international awards he won just on his novel @ Things Fall Apart....Christopher Okigbo an extraordinary poet cum soldier. Wole Soyinka..first African to bag the Noble Price in Literature. Elechi Amadi,, Chukwuemeka Ike.
Grace Alele Williams... She was the first Nigerian woman to obtain a doctoral degree and also first Nigerian woman to become a vice chancellor in a Nigerian university.

What about Unizik VC Professor J. E Ahaneku.. Professor Joseph Eberendu Ahaneku is the youngest African to bag PhD in Chemical Pathology @ d age of 28 and youngest African to bag Professor of Chemical Pathology @ d age of 35.
Their alumni were almost the first Nigerian or African to record whatever achievement they achieved in their Profession or discipline.

Among all the politicians d Den(UNN) produced none was more influential than James Ifeanyichukwu Nwobodo(Jim Nwobodo) first executive governor of Anambra state 1979.

I totally agree with you in other ones.. You did a nice job.

Sir... Yorubas didn't build Lagos. Nigeria as a nation built it as her capital. From the roads to Airports, Seaports and bridges. I challenge you to tell us what infrastructures Lagos had before spending Oil money on it.

I challenge you too to name other Western states with such infrastructure like Lagos.

Lol... So to you development is based on prices of real estate? Not industrialization, good medical facilities, not constant power supply, not creation millions of jobs... Where is Baby Rwanda standing in development in Africa In comparison to your giant of Africa? You are boasting of real estate prices as development. Chai... The kind of people I share a country with sef.

I know I sound off topic but this thing you quoted up there doesn't mean anything to me if people like Baby Baniah had to be die mid way through his flight because his country couldn't offer him a good medical care, his father didn't have a good job to foot his medical bills until her to beg the public for help...

Still, the child died...

Development were Tanker claimed over 100 lives Last year and another 100 lives has just claimed today.. Chai...

Development... Development... Development has really suffered.

lol
I was just showing to you how Ibadan is more developed than the entire Igboland where the most expensive land is 5 million naira grin

Let us see how developed Igboland is....
Do you have these in the entire Igboland? grin

Igbos are everywhere... Their land is not abandoned. They just love adventure and not afraid to travel far.

I have never stated that any part of Nigeria is less or more developed than the other because of the same reason I stated in the post you quoted.

I don't measure development based on prices of real estate because to me, the entire country is a shithole.

If you look at the East, virtually everything they have accomplished has been by internal efforts, reason why they developed the one of the world's greatest venture capitalist model revered by a renowned TedX speaker in the form of apprenticeship... Not even your Ibadan or Southwest comes close to that in terms of uplifting their fellow Yorubas... And you know it.

If I may ask you, imagine Ibadan destroyed to rumbles and ashes today, do you see your region rising to the level of the SE within the timeframe they have risen after the war with virtually no traces of war?

During the war, they manufactured their own machines and bombs to combat the Nigerian army, the Built their own airport

That is a development!

The problem is Igboland is tiny and undeveloped. This is Makoko in Lagos.Lagos is tiny and 1000 times developed than the entire Igboland just like Ibadan, another Yoruba city.

Hahaha hah... Young man, let me start by teaching you Social Studies, since you can't didn't do it.

First, we have different types of settlement.

Compact settlements
Semi-compact Settlement
Dispersed Settlement

Yorubas practice, Compact settlement where everybody have to come together, develop a space and cohabit.

The rest of other places are left underdeveloped. Example is Kobape in Ogun state, the indigenous people aren't up to 1000, Benueans (Igede) have out numbered the Yorubas there by ratio of 4:1.
The indigenous village doesn't have more than 15 mud houses inhabited mainly by Cotounues.

Igbos on the other hand practice, Dispersed Settlement. In this type of settlement every clan is allowed to settle down according to her nouns and values. It helps in development.
Example, Nnewi, Oba, Nkpor... Are technique villages, but is more developed than Ogbomoso.

Igbos did not have normal houses until recently when Yorubas taught you how to build house. Those Yoruba brown roofs were the best houses in Nigeria then.
If I show proofs to you that Igbos did not build anything during the civil war, you will say I hate you.
Askyourself why Igboshave not been as technologically savvy as the Yorubas now that we can verify all technological prowess online.
AS I SPEAK,Yorubas lead technologically in Nigeria and they have some of the best young scentists in the world. They also have the highest number of bet black athematicians in the worldThey have the highest number of profs in Nigeria....the list continues. If you want proofs, I will givecthem to you because it seems you are not so literate or informed not knowing all these..

You're right Igbos didn't have houses when Yorubas were building houses.

Trust me, Americans, Britains and Indians haven't started building when Yorubas started making houses. Most houses in London where 18 century houses, yet they aren't brown roofs, question! Did Yorubas started building before Britain?

Secondly, In the East people demolish property when they feel it's obsolete. You can keep the whole of Ibadan, Osogbo, Akure, Abeokuta and Ogbomoso as Museum.

Lmaooo...

Ur last line made me laugh... I am not so literate? Like seriously?

Do you know how many igbos also in those areas you mentioned?

Tech? What do you call tech? Web Programmers and software developers? I could agree in that but that is where it ends. Tech is so broad that no Nigerian region has covered 1/4.

Tech goes beyond laptop and fancy offices...

Yeah, I am not literate.

lol... I have been responding to you directly from mentions and have missed most of your comments... So Lagos is your most developed state in the whole of South West, a region that gained from being fct for many years just as Abuja is currently gaining...later you will add that Tinubu built Lagos.

Oshiomole try small for Benin. He did better than Lucky in his first tenure sha but later him turn agbero.

Benin? I go come later this year. I go holla.

Wow you stay Bauchi too? Me self don walker for this Country aswear. I stay for Alagbaka Akure, Lagos, Omofo for Rivers, ph, kaduna, zaria, Kachia, abuja, Nasarawa, Bosso minna, gra fate ilorin, Jos anguwan doki, Italia in Damaturu, old airport sokoto, crutech Calabar, Kano, Warri, Asaba, GRA Benin, Bida, kontagora, Maiduguri.

When I dey Maiduguri, I dey primary 5 that time. That Sambisa forest wey Shekau and his Boko boys don turn to their base now, used be a Government reserved area. Hunters are not allowed to hunt there. There used to be varieties of wild animals there. Even Lions, tigers, elephants and other wild animals are found dip in the forest. Me and my friends used to go for hunting of rabbits, squirrels and Antelopes in that Sambisa forest then (not dip inside the forest though). We go with hunting dogs, we do that for the adventure not really for the meat.
Damaturu also used to have a Government reserved area like Sambisa forest, but it's not as big as Sambisa forest.

E good to travel, you get to learn alot about other people's culture and their ways of life.
