Good morning. Was contacted by the post office that custom caught my phone and am to come with some certain amount which I don't even have right now. Is there a way I can evade it or beat the price.
Help with the next step to take as it has been lieing there for some days

Most likely camera is no longer connected to the phone. Phone has to be opened and camera reconnected. [/quote

Mehn my Max 2 battery has gone kaput. It needs to be constantly plugged in to a power source, or it can go off at any time and at any percentage and refuse to come on again. Last night it went off at 92%.

Wow, that's really disappointing. You can't completely evade it as you will need to pay, idk about reduction of the fee though.

A customs officer informed me he neither understood all these customs charges by NIPOST nor where the money ends up & he accordingly regards same as suspicions!!!!!
He stated that under normal circumstances, you ought to be around when the valuation/assessment of your goods are carried out and how the rates are determined & you have a right to complain if you are overtaxed. Besides , customs duties are usually paid into bank account nor over the counter.
He suggested:
Locate Customs office @ your state.
Table a complain of impersonation/forgery about post office.
It may be helpful if you can go to the post office first and ask for the parcel as if you want to collect it, let them show you the customs charges, take a snapshot of the page. Print same out at business centres and approach customs office with it.
Tell customs that a staff of NIPOST is forging customs levy documents & embezzling their revenue & request for their intervention and advice.
Normal customs duty on a phone is neither arbitrary nor outrageous.
You suppose to pay it to bank after duty assessment.

Check the camera app and uninstall any updates. Then reinstall them again and test. If that doesn't solve it, you could be looking at a hardware problem especially considering that you have already restored factory settings to no avail.

They aren't mine though. They are for a colleague and her husband. I can tell you, it feels good in hand. You just have to be careful as it can be very slippery (it has glass back after all). It is as snappy as expected. All these I garnered from an hour with the device. I had to install Google Play services for them as it was the sealed Chinese ROM I bought. The phone is worth it.

Gbam, all this custom issue thing is getting out of hand.

Even when you import via an agent he will never charge you #8500 for a package not more than 1kg so why will custom charge you that kind of amount.

I use Ikeja post office and the highest i pay is #500 and I will be given a receipt.

All this small post off are now into scam cos I know the main ones like Ikeja post office can do this nonsense.

Same Ikeja post office that billed a friend 9500 just last month to pick up a phone right? It is not about "small" post offices, it might be a scam perpetrated on a large scheme and it starts from the NIPOST/CUSTOM officials at the airport.

I saw one last week for my end. Dy even opened d parcel to verify the content, so declaring it as mp4 or phone accessory of $20 may not work if you are unlucky. They billed d guy 6k for a LG G5
