your definition of super power is horse sh*t,there's no difference between enhanced abilities and super powers if that's the case then superman has no super powers because the sun enhances his strength, speed, durability etc.saying wolverine has no super powers is pure ignorance and stop trying to claim you read comics, you just exposed yourself

iuwe:

Hulk616 your friend here says cap has super powers grin grin grin.

See there is a difference between super powers and enhanced abilities. Your cap has the later not the former.

Captain America enhanced abilities enables him to throw his shield with precision and accuracy, knowing the effect of the damage and the exact location it would land.

Captain America took a super serum that improved his physical attributes such as strength, agility, durability and reflexes.

Super powers on the other hand are special skills and qualities that enables one to perform some things that one can't normally do such as levitation, super vision, super strength ( be guarded Captain America has enhanced strength not super strength, I can explain if you want to), photon blast, telekinesis and telepathy. All of which Captain don't possess. Even wolverine don't have super powers too.

If you read comics (Marvel or DC) maybe you would have known this. Thanks again for your time. wink

I don't like how people assume that just because there is a female lead the movie will try to be unnecessarily political. I think that Wonder Woman was great proof of that.
Brie Larson and Kevin Feige specifically said Captain Marvel was going to be a feminist movie. Add all the controversy Larson has been stirring. Wonder Woman did none of that.

Actually if you really think about it, what's wrong with it being a feminist movie?

As for Brie, i will admit she really gave this movie bad publicity with her controversy...

When Hollywood goes out of its way to tell you it's doing a feminist movie, you can bet it's going to incorporate the third wave's toxic feminity.
Wonder Woman is a feminist movie.

Hmmm, i think you mean the "New Hollywood"...

One of my favourite feminist movies of all time should be Aliens (1986)

Ellen Ripley's portrayal in it is the exact end goal of feminism in my opinion. She is not designed to be a feminist icon. She is a protagonist who just happens to be female.

There is no ideology behind her portrayal. There is no statement being made about how women can do anything men can do, or how it's women's turn to be action heroes. She is not trying to be a man. She is not trying to score a win against "men." She is not trying to be stronger than men. She is not sexualised by herself, the director, or others. She does not whine about "the patriarchy" when she unfairly loses her job. She does not sacrifice her femininity, nor use it as a weapon.

All that said, I'm still excited to see Captain Marvel. As long as the acting, set-pieces, dialogue, score are satisfactory, then i'm fine with it.

It seems you are looking at basic power sets when considering leader which is not good actually.

Captain America had no super power but he is a great leader. Black widow had been with them from the on set, she is a skilled warrior, a great tactician, a master strategist, commands lots of respect from her teammates and has an abundance of experience. These are great leadership qualities a team would require which Captain Marvel lacks.

Black widow would be a better leader to Captain Marvel moving forward. That's my honest opinion though.
you guys should use google for god sake. Google is freaking FREE!!!. who told you Captain america does not have powers but he can bend steel, hold a chopper,

Of a no more goal shifting answer the question wey dey up.

If you say Captain America has super powers so does Joker and bane. There is no goal shifting.

P.S You are comparing Captain America with mutant like Scarlet witch, hulk, Dr Manhattan, sentry and Quicksilver?
Aliens like Superman and Supergirl?

Green lantern does not have super powers. He possesses a lantern ring that enables him to do things. Remove the ring and he becomes a normal human being.

So anymore arguments on if Captain Marvel is feminist movie or not

I think Kaycee7 already clarified things

Now to the main reason lots of people dislike this movie (especially me) the movie not only passed a feminist theme throughout the movie, infact the feminism it portrayed was very very toxic

Literally, the movie tells everyone

"ALL MEN ARE EVIL AND SCUMBAGS"

don't about y'all, but I have a serious problem with such movie.

The movie wasn't interesting sef

It depends on what you mean when you say "super-powers"
Shouldn't anything that pumps your abilities above any level humans are capable of be classified as super powers?
It has been stated that Cap is the eptimome of "Human" perfection, but I guess it's all in how you interpret the meaning of that statement…
Being that the serum acted to enhance his normal human abilities exponentially, it would be more viable to classify Cap as an "Enhanced" human, rather than "Super" human…

At either rate, that definitely does not classify him as "Peak" human by any standard…

Abi u sabi any Peak human wey fit...
1. Lift or press in excess of a ton..
2. Run in upwards of 40- 60 mph or as he has cleary stated, a mile a minute if need be….
3. Wreck a Tank with minimal effort…..

Guy u sef reason am undecided

i dont know where you got the idea that joker has powers and bane has to rely on venom to even be on captain america level.Scarlet witch,QS,hulk, sentry and manhattan are not mutants, the fact are superman/girl are aliens do not change the fact that they do not have super powers(using your enhanced logic),so using your logic those guys are simply enhanced undecided

Firstly we are talking about a comic world where super heroes exists. So yeah to become a super hero you must be at peak condition but that is not my reason.

MY REASON
BANE - He is a super villain who has all the above mentioned attributes of Captain America but is not considered super powers because they simply are not super powers but enhanced abilities.

P.S on that page you collected your screenshot this was what was written down below.

Joker once fought with a knife in his heart, I don't think any human can do such thing isn't it.

Bane venom is same as Captain serum. If Captain serum means he has super powers also implies that bane venom does the same thing because it gave them the same physical attributes. You can't accept one as super powers and reject the other.

So if you can agree that bane and joker has super powers, I will apologise and agree that Captain America does.

so fighting with a knife in the chest is now a super power undecided i never said bane venom is the same as SSS,i said bane has to be on venom to be cap level.unlike bane, cap SSS is 'semi permanent',his blood cells replenish the serum, bane doesnt have that.

I'm not denying anything here,i am not the guy who said cap and wolverine have no super powers

Do tell did how was Steve physical conditions before he took the serum?

Did Batman and punisher take some kind of drugs to improve their physical conditions?

Captain America is a superhuman with no super powers, same can be said about bane, joker and even black panther after all he ate a glowing orb abi herb that improved his physical conditions. Non of them has super powers. As for Batman I never said he was super human.
