CosmicPhoenix:I hate to do this. This is directly from Marvel comics dictionary. Image 1 shows his profile. Image 2 shows his strength level, known superhuman abilities and limitations. Even marvel dictionary compared him to an Olympic athletes . His peak strength is at 800 pounds compared to Superman who lifted infinite mass. Lol you guys should know the difference between enhanced strength and super human strength. Captain America strength is limited to his physical human body versus a man who has no limit to what he can carry. Marvel people. The day Captain America beats the likes of Thor, namor, sentry, Superman, hulk, is the day that I will agree he has super powers.

all this one na story for the gods.no one is disputing the fact cap is super human,my point is cap has super powers and the wiki screen shot i uploaded supports that.in comics, cap has lifted tons of weight that 800 pounds stuff is false and how many olympic athletes can run faster than speeding cars, flip a bike, prevent a chopper from flying of course superman will be stronger than cap,all fingers are not equal Explain the bolded,we are waiting iuwe: |

Re: Marvel Cinematic Universe by Nobody: 8:43pm On Mar 18, 2019 |
CosmicPhoenix:Lol I was patiently waiting for you to ask me that since like 3 hrs ago. ENHANCED STRENGTH is subject to the limitations of the person's body. That is to say it is bound by all earthly rules and physics. SUPER STRENGTH is subject to no limitations of the person's body. That is to say it is not bound by any earthly rules and physics. Examples of comic character with enhanced strength are Captain America, Deathstroke, Bane, Black panther, Spiderman, Luke cage etc. Examples of comic character with super strength are Superman, Hulk, MMH, Thor, Sentry, She hulk, Supergirl, Blue Marvel, Hercules, Darkseid. Difference between enhanced strength and super strength is when characters with enhanced strength fights they cause minor to mild damages to their surrounding environment but characters with super strength causes heavy to catastrophic damages. Enhanced strength characters can only do things that will give you a mild wow such as lifting a truck, helicopter, ship etc but super power character feats are astonishing like bench pressing the earth, moving planets, and lifting infinite mass. In a battle of death between enhanced strength characters and super strength characters, please don't expect the fight to last more than 5 minutes. |
Re: Marvel Cinematic Universe by Nobody: 9:00pm On Mar 18, 2019 |
It's hard to figure out what the term 'superpower' refers to. For example, I could easily say that Superman has no superpowers whatsoever because what he does is perfectly normal for a Kryptonian living on planet Earth. We know this because other Kryptonians have ended up on Earth and had more or less the same powers as Superman. Superman only has superpowers with respect to human beings, not with respect to Kryptonians, so in which way do we measure his powers? Likewise, Captain America only has powers with respect to "genetically" inferior humans, but any other eugenically augmented human being would be able to match him point for point. So in which way do we measure his abilities? Clearly Cap does not have the ability to read people's minds, shoot fire out of his eyes, or summon up lightning and winds the way some X-Men characters do, so perhaps we can consider the latter superpowers. But of course, in the Marvel Universe, those are just genetic mutations, so perhaps all that means is that Cap is not the pinnacle of human evolution that he is thought to be; it's not that the X-Men have superpowers and Captain America doesn't, but rather that the X-Men are the perfection of the human genetic form and Cap is simply comparatively average. Ugh, I'm getting a headache CosmicPhoenix:I think there's something bothering that guy. He keeps rehashing an issue that has already been flogged and laid to rest here. It must really be personal for him. Smh Tenison96:Whatever you say |
Re: Marvel Cinematic Universe by Nobody: 9:17pm On Mar 18, 2019 |
iuwe:@bolded Spider-Man is rather hard to place in my opinion. He's an anomaly. Of all the heroes you listed alongside him, the only one i can see lasting long in a fight with a "switched on" Spider-Man is Luke Cage. That said, he's nowhere near Hulk, Sentry et al strengthwise |
Re: Marvel Cinematic Universe by Nobody: 9:47pm On Mar 18, 2019 |
IAmSabrina:In the DC Universe, super powers is the manifestation of abilities that can hurt a person without any physical contacts made or the use of any artificial devices. This manifestation includes telepathy, telekinesis, magic and it various alterations, energy blast, pyrokinesis, hydrokinesis, psychic powers, mind control, darkness manipulation, etc and the ability to do things that defiles the laws of earth and physics such as super speed, flight, super strength (not enhanced strength) and the rest of the supers, bulletproof etc. If Superman is subjected to the rules of the marvel universe then he has freeze breath and heat vision as his super powers. |
Re: Marvel Cinematic Universe by CosmicPhoenix: 10:09pm On Mar 18, 2019 |
i have never read such misinformation on nairaland in a long time, just like your definition of superpowers, your definition of enhanced and super strength is horse sh*t,there's no book that states super strength has no limitations or super strength must involve pushing planets etc are you going to tell me vampires have no super strength because they cannot push planets have you opened comics where Black Panther,Spider Man and Luke Cage have been in battle, the destruction is far from mild iuwe: 2 Likes |

Even the creator of Captain America never said he has super powers. Marvel people una no go kill person. You read your comics but don't know that Captain America has no super powers. If you want to argue now please meet Jack Kirby he created Captain America and never said he has super powers. 2 Likes

Re: Marvel Cinematic Universe by Nobody: 10:54pm On Mar 18, 2019 |
CosmicPhoenix:All this things you are saying is rubbish. Stan was asked a question he answered what he felt was the most powerful. Jack Kirby clearly stated in comics and in person. CAPTAIN AMERICA HAS NO SUPER POWERS PERIOD. He created the character not you, so nobody gives a rat a** what you think. God created humans to die the human said it is not facts

Re: Marvel Cinematic Universe by Nobody: 11:03pm On Mar 18, 2019 |
CosmicPhoenix:What straws am I grasping? The creator of Captain America clearly stated he does not have super powers. You are not the one that created the character neither have you written a comic in your life. Let the owner of the property do and say whatever he likes. You were not there when he created Captain America and yes his words are pure facts not yours his. 1 Like

CosmicPhoenix:I quote " The serum took a frail young man with polio and made him a perfect soldier, but it didn't make him "super". These are the words of the creator of Captain America. I invent a property and I tell people how it works but they said no it must work this way . I don't know which world that principle works but it is definitely not the earth I am living in. Maybe Pluto or UrANUS. Nice attempt for a backup btw if he comes tell him to simply Google "Marvel character without super powers" since he started the whole Google is your friend thing 5 Likes

Re: Marvel Cinematic Universe by Nobody: 11:25pm On Mar 18, 2019 |
iuwe:Maybe Jack already defined the character's powers, but you have to remember that Captain America has had multiple comic book artists and writers since the 1940s. They've all had their different multiple interpretations of Cap's powerset. Many of his feats and accomplishments in the comics sometimes fall into the range of "super" human. Are you familiar with PIS & CIS? If you are, you'll know that how a character's powers as described by the creator are not always how they'll be portrayed by the person writing the comic. If you watch "Death Battles" and other versus matches on youtube, you'll know that feats and achievements are what matter more than the actual character description 2 Likes |
