I did not have the priveledge of watching the game. But after reading the varied comments and the post mortem

l am inclined to anchor everything on the saying that. "A poor work man, blames his tools " As my conclusion.

The turn out was most likely because it was a meaningless match.

The turn out at Uyo or Port Harcourt in this game would have been far better.

I need to single out Onyekuru for his brilliance on the ball today. He was the player who stood out for me when it comes to gift on the ball.

He was way ahead of the other players in quality.

we showed up against them. Mind you, the argies were the only team that scored 3 goals against the French team. They could have even equalised, if Higuain had not miss that golden opportunities.
We stood our ground against them. We matched them and even had the best chances in that encounter. Please stop ridiculing our team.

We didn't show anything .

Stop hyping this average team (at best).

They outplayed us from the start of the whistle and appeared hungrier for the 2nd spot in that group.

Our boys played with fear. Argentina got the win they duly deserved.

Spot on bro...

Onyekuru was our biggest attacking threat today... I'm glad he has showed Rohr how much he can offer the team..

this same team qualified for the nations cup you have not qualified for in 4 years, qualified for the world cup ahead of Africa champion and Africa's number 1 team at that time.
Criticism is welcome but don't ridicule them cos they have achieved more than you could ever do.

Latest pic of the Uyo stadium.... The state govt actually tried to get it back in shape after the political rallies...

It doesn't look too good but its definitely better than the rice farm in Asaba

Just look at the grass... the one in Asaba look like a palm oil nursery

Zaha will start for those teams

Which Spurs winger is better than him or Man U ?

Zaha is better thqn the wingers at those club

You think as a coach I will play lingard ahead of zaha ?

because say na black man you think he won't make it there

Is son the only winger at spurs?
Zaha and Son play at the same wing and I repeat - Son is better than Zaha and has shown that over the last two seasons.
Is Martial white? Is Rashford white? When Leicester won the league - who was creating for Mahrez? Zaha has poor end product and that won't change at any club.
Why do you think City chose to sign Mahrez for 65m over him for 70m despite being homegrown? No club will blow over 70m on Zaha.
He is a very good player but not elite. Make we die this topic before people vex for us.
I need to find a link for the replay of today's game. I missed it

About time he grabbed his opportunity with both hands. Onyekuru offers us tricky and goals when he's in form.

In football, one plus one is not always two. Against France, Argentina raised their game so as to compete.
Messi even got involved in managing the team at a point. Against Nigeria, they were virtually a team in crisis with just a single point from 2games, still they outplayed us without hitting gear 2.
Different scenarios here.

That stadium is exactly the reason the herdsmen have been eyeing delta
Olulong:
Very poor pitch. I'm trying to phantom why Amaju Pinnick took d super eagles game to dis cattle ranch.
And to be honest super eagles were very disappointing. In the first half dey were trying long balls even wen it was so obvious d Seychelles players were taller den in d second half wen onuachu came in which was supposed to be a perfect time for trying long balls dey decided to try going to d middle which is quite surprising. and as for uzoho don't let me just start abeg

Dem say we can host AFCON comfortably. Low profile match like this, we dey struggle. Abi we need 4 years to prep for match of this magnitude?
Starboytwo:
I'm particularly angry about the issue of stadia in the country....it irks me always when we host matches on "cattle ranchs and call it stadium... Many countries in Africa have a few standard stadiums, big capacities etc we don't even have a 80 or 70 cap in the country, I think Abuja should be 60 or so while Lagos is about 45,uyo 30 I guess and others, way below. Can't say the same for southie or North Africa...

I still ask when are we gonna host the nation's cup, funny how we have never bidded or be in reckoning as a potential Hosting countries of late, simple. We currently lack the infrastructure, which is quite shameful, our two biggest stadiums don't even work...

Sometimes or many times self I just Tire for naija... Didn't watch the match, but everyone is complaining bout the pitch, some even questioning why a football match should be played there... A must win u23 match is also billed to be played on the farm... I hail us for this country..... A football mad nation without stadiums...

U mean this pitch has a different measurement from the standard?

If our u23 plays in this Asaba pitch we may lose...The size of the pitch will help the Libyan to be compact....and the state of the turf will be against us.....either way,we are in hot soup

The pitch is not small. It is of the standard size. The problem is the poor camera positioning by the Super Sports crew.

Are you asking "when NEXT are we hosting the nations cup" or "When are we EVER hosting the nations Cup" ?

Or you don't know Nigeria has hosted the nations Cup twice?

I think Iwobi needs Orientation on how he plays the creative midfield role because from my perspective, there were lapses in his game.

Most especially, his understanding of his role. Numerous times, he tried forcing the attack by running into spaces in front, forgetting that his primary role is to create for the forwards and overlapping fullbacks.

This caused disharmony in our play and reduced our chances of having cohesive attacking play.

Also, he played in an advanced position which was too far for him to dictate play and this caused him to lose the ball a lot when passing.

In the second half he did better but the forward runs were still a problem.

My best advice to Iwobi is to study the way Mikel played the creative attack midfield role against Argentina in 2005 to have an understanding of the role.

He should play more like a midfielder than a forward and spend time making passes to free players in ideal positions. Also give room to the forward players to shine and also the overlapping fullbacks.

You also notice this in the plays of De Bruyne and Silva.

It was refreshing seeing the ball playing development of Omeruo. I think his sojourn to Spain has left a good mark on him and I hope he keeps developing that side of his game.

However, I will like to see Omeruo's response in this aspect when we are up against a top quality side.
