Head coach of the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr, has sent the first choice goalkeeper, Francis Uzoho and three others to the U-23 team, Owngoalnigeria reports.

Uzoho, whose error led to the only goal scored by Seychelles in Nigeria’s 3-1 win in their final AFCON 2019 qualifier, will start for the U-23 on Monday, with their first choice goalkeeper Abubakar Adamu suspended following his red card in the first leg.

The trio of Valentine Ozornwafor, Victor Osimhen and Chidozie Awaziem have also been asked to join the squad, ahead of the return leg of their U23 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Libya.

Nigeria trail 2-0 going into the second leg.

The four players have been informed of the development and will depart the camp of the team by tomorrow.

Just imagine the useless word used "demote". Those players were sent to help the u23 side overturn the 2-0 defeat they suffered in the hands of the Libyans.

This isn't demotion. U-23's return match to Libya is a must win. so they need experienced players. They lost the first leg on thur.

another misleading title by bloggers.
Its not a demotion. If you watched the first leg against Libya, the Nigerian U-23 keeper was suspended due to a foul committed. So since uzoho is our 40year old keeper with 20years football age, he is now set to play for that return leg.
