This is similar to the situation in 1995 prio to Atlanta Olympics qualifiers. Most football fans knew we had top players who were still U-23 that played in Super Eagles and won AFCON "94.
So, during the qualifiers Kenya came to Lagos and played goalless draw with U-23, leaving the return leg in Nairobi wide open and dicey.
NFF immediately recalled all the big U23 players in Super Eagles for return.
That was how the original "Dream Team" vame to be. When the likes Okocha, Kanu, Ikpeba, Oliseh, Babayaro brothers, Wilson Oruma storm Nairobi , it ended Kenya 0: Nig 3. Even Kenyan players were asking for autographs from our dream.

The situation with U-23 now is due to NFF poor planning. We have very good U23 players from 2013&2015 Golden Eaglets who are doing well and should form a solid team.
But... angry

You make your arguments without facts...
First of all in the so called "America and Europe" that you stated, are very organized-the system works there...

the ministry/council for sports dedicates soccer academies to children with divisions for age categories, and mostly talents are discovered, documented and drafted to club junior academies, where these young talents are trained further and given career paths.

Now due to the relationship with sports and school in these countries, exceptional players are given scholarships in school, in a bid to encourage them to keep playing especially if they are already drafted to junior academies for big clubs... no matter the club, your payment does not begin until you graduate from the academy and become pro.

With this sort of pathway how can a child fake his age, was it not before our eyes we all saw Mbappe grow up, from that amazing 15yr old that played for France in the Fifa junior competition of 2015 to who he is now?

Now for Nigeria first of all the ministry of sports is messed up , no link to grass roots area's there is no set track for career development in Football , one just has to hussle in that sort of situation... tell me why won't a player change his age in a bid to remain relevant
Onuachu (the No. 10 against Seychelles) says he's 24 yrs old. He is a product of Ebedei academy. He doesn't look 24. Mikel Obi is a product of pepsi academy. We claim he isn't 31.
The 2 players I mentioned above are products of academies but 'we' don't agree to their age. Diego Costa, Alexis Sanchez and a few others are products of 'street' football. Now, the American media don't talk about their age but our media always dwell on the age rather than the ability of our players and that is where the problem lies.
