ABUJA—THE South East, All Progressives Congress, APC, Youths Consultative Forum, has called on the leadership of the party to zone the position of speaker to the zone. APC National Coordinator of South East APC youths group, Romanus Oguleme told journalists in Abuja that the zone has credible and ranking members of the party in the National Assembly to head any of the two chambers. He further stated that the zone should not be schemed out in the National Assembly leadership as was experienced in 2015, adding that zoning the speakership to the southeast was in line with President Muhammadu Buhari’s promise of inclusive government.

The group argued that the excuse in 2015 that South East APC didn’t have ranking members to be considered for positions of principal officers cannot be used again as the region has two returning members in the House. According to Oguleme, “We categorically state that the South-East has two ranking members of the APC and these two: chairman, House Committee on Healthcare Services, Chike Okafor and chairperson, House Committee on Aviation, Nkeiru Onyejeocha are eminently qualified to run for Speaker or to be appointed as principal officers. Buhari’s comment on supplementary elections shows he rigged – PDP “If the performance of both members in the 8th Assembly should be used as criteria, they have proven themselves capable of handling delicate and sensitive assignments.

“The Okafor-led Healthecare Services Committee is effectively performing its oversight functions in the health sector, with many Nigerians still remembering the highly publicised probe into the alleged N351 billion fraud in the NHIS as well as stakeholders’ commendation of the House sub-committee of Primary Healthcare Care revitalisation. Onyejeocha performed creditably well in leading her committee in ensuring a good standard of efficiency in the aviation sector.” PDP’ll produce next Speaker —Ebonyi Rep In a related development, member representing Ezza North /Ishielu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Anayo Nwonu yesterday expressed optimism that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, will produce the next Speaker of the House of Representatives. Nwonu who addressed journalists during the last rerun of the State Assembly election in his constituency explained that PDP being minority in the 9th Assembly will not affect legislative processes . He said: “National politics and legislative politics are quite different. The fact that we reduced in number will not really affect any legislative process in the green chambers. For now, we are already shopping for who will become the next speaker and I know Peoples Democratic Party PDP is the main people to decide who will be the speaker of the 9th Assembly. “In fact, let me tell you, as we are being sworn in, PDP will definitely gain back its number.”

SouthEast APC has every right to demand for a prime role in the national assembly, either as Senate President or Speaker of the house, so long as they have ranking members as already identified.

What I have a hard time rationalizing is if the people of that region who claim they are happy that the demonic APC has been kicked out (now a proven fallacy) of the SouthEast, will appreciate such concessions being made to their region by the same demonic APC?

Again, when the same region that argues that the SouthWest that supplied over 80% of its own available Senate and Representative seats to the APC is not loyal enough for daring to be politically sophisticated in also accommodating the opposition PDP and so will be punished by the North (whom the SouthEast have now accepted that region's superiority and lordship over them), as opposed to their own unparalleled political bigotry where only 1 or 2 manage to win seats under the party that the people consider demonic, where then is the merit of such insignificant loyalty to demand for prime positions in the government dominated by the demonic party?

I fear that the SouthEast has unnecessarily demonized APC, for such critical positions to be given to those who have laboured less for it, and who will never ever ever appreciate it. In fact, we would later be told that we begged them to accept the offer, and they took pity on us. Gloating and arrogant boasts is the core DNA of the Igboman.

I do not necessarily desire the SouthWest to hold such position after already laying claim to the Vice-Presidency. I would rather the SouthSouth have it, to better the party's chances in that region that does not practice the mortal bitterness the SouthEast has become notorious for.

There are many ranking house members from the SouthSouth who can play such role. But I know that the SouthEast, in its desire to have a compulsory company for its misery will try to frustrate that attempt to defeat its current agenda of "We SE and SS are hated by APC"

If you have deliberately courted hatred around the country, leave the SouthSouth out of the miserable state you have found yourself and face your consequences alone.

But I will not count it out that on this very thread, a SouthEasterner will appear and begin to mention SouthEast/SouthSouth as if they are bitter that the other South got their administrative independence without having to be tied to the East. It is so bad that many do not even realise that parts of the SouthSouth like Edo, Delta and parts of Bayelsa were once part of the Western region, who have since learnt how to let go and accept the independence and statehood of its former constituents, unlike the East who still criticize the existence of a SouthSouth that is not under their own control.

By the way, see below reaction of Igbos to the news that Senator Ifeanyi Ubah of Anambra has decamped from YPP to APC.

Note that he did not decamp from APGA or PDP ooo, yet the notorious politics of bitterness that the Igbos have mastered was in full display.

Yet they are demanding positions from the demonic party.

The SE wants to produce the house of Reps Speaker under an APC government when the APC doesn't have a single Governor in the SE?

Honestly, the politics of stupidity and foolishness we Igbos have been playing isn't doing us any good.

We don't like saying the truth to ourselves but Igbos bleeped up. Laying all our hope in PDP with nothing to show for it.

This political blindness of Igbos has put the SE in Political wilderness. To produce ordinary Speaker has become a future impossible tense.

Igbos here on NL said they don't want the Senate Presidency seat. Therefore, nothing for them.

I will suggest that the SouthEast is excused from such position so that they do not betray Atiku and his government in waiting on INEC server.

When I remember that this same tribe were already protesting the news that an elected Atiku would offer the SouthWest the role of SGF. They claimed that the SouthWest do not deserve such role in a PDP government, regardless that the region would have also voted for Atiku like it did happen with slim victories in Oyo and Ondo for Atiku, and with Senate and Representative seats for PDP in the region.

The very same way they sabotaged the national appeal that ensured a Jonathan victory in 2011, such that Jonathan was stuck with only the Igbos for support by 2015.

How long will it take the Igbos to realise that 100% of their votes alone, while alienating other voters from the candidate, can never guaranty the victory of that candidate?

Igbos, how long will this bitterness continue? The bitterness that did not help your ancestors but turned them to international refugees, you have insisted that you will not learn from the past mistakes.

Alright! Continue!

Igbos have said it many times that:

1) They are not interested in any position in Nigeria, all they want is restructuring.

2)They don't want anything to do with the evil APC party and the dictator Buhari.

3) Northerners who have produced the most Presidents over the years are the poorest and are the ones dragging Nigerians back.

4) Yorubas participating in this government are slaves.

5) PDP is SE and SE is PDP.

Going by the aforementioned, Igbos don't deserve any political position in Nigeria except the 5 ministerial slots the 1999 Constitution guarantees

I think Igbo politic elites are deliberately manipulating the mind of their people and the few ones who wanna be liberal or say the truth are termed TRAITOR or betrayals! Igbos have every right to lay claim to any position as long as they are still in Nigeria, but there approach to national issue has erned them many enemies than friends, even the south south they always eush to tag along are wiser politically! Unfortunately TINUBU who can plead for them is now seen as an enemy for no reason! The same man that made an Igbo man a commissioner for many years, the same man that allow an Igbo man fill a federal slot allocated to Lagos state! Rather than appreciate the man wisdom and political maturity, the Igbos were chanting war songs and telling everyone that Lagos belong to no region! Like seriously? You prefer a voiceless and worthless FFK ,FAYOSE,RENO and other twitter Lions to those who are really running the affairs of the nation! It's sad what the Igbo nation has been reduced to! And hey spare me the BIAFRA madness, its been politicized and lack merit international! I pray my Igbo brothers stop sentimental and politic of HATE

It is good we remind them.

They have celebrated the chasing of APC out of Igboland.

The tragic irony of the Igbos in politics is that they have supported PDP with over 98% votes, which no other region has ever done in Nigeria, yet when it is time to reap the rewards by being the most eligible for PDP's Presidential ticket in 2023, they are determined to punish the SouthWest by rather serving under a Northerner, because they do not want to bear the shame of losing a presidential election to the Yorubas, even if Alex Ekueme has already borne the shame of twice losing the PDP primary to a Yoruba Obasanjo.

Out of hatred, they have now supported Saraki, Atiku, Tambuwal and Kwankwaso that they have previously hated too.

I know that out of hatred, they will one day support "HellRufai" the short devil as they call him.

I really pity their lack of direction in politics.

You are not an Igbo man, and it always surprises me when people like you say Igbos don't know how to play politics, because what you call political astuteness is anywhere bele face politics, no integrity, no principles just follow whoever can give one of tribesmen a political appointment.
It's sad because in the end whether an Igbo man gets the appointment or not we'll still all suffer from terrible leadership, the north and west that have always produced the bulk of our leaders are not any better developmentally or economically than the east, so what's the point the point of your tribesman being in Aso rock if he's only going to steal and fill his pocket like they always do?

A dog from the north would he considered for Speakership position before they consider your region.

Go and meet PDP. You political beggars won't get anything cos you are ingrates. We would give SS.

The lack of home training by igbos is what is causing problems for Igbos everywhere in the world today. Contentment, gratitude, respect, integrity, togetherness and honesty are lacking in Igbo families. Hence, Igbos lack proper socialisation skills and have problems with people everywhere.

Then why are Igbos crying that an Igbo man has never become President?

Then why were Igbos following GEJ like flies despite the fact that he didn't do anything in Igboland?

Mind you, there is no state in the entire SE that is as developed as Kano. No SE state is developed enough to compare.

Travel wide and you'll see that the SE has not gotten a fair deal of 20 years of slavery to PDP.

Are you a Catholic?

You must check what the Roman Catholic church teaches with the Bible.

You must examine the teachings on

Mass

Mary

Bowing down to images of Mary and the 'saints'

Prayer labyrinth

Auricular confession

Purgatory

Penance

Prayer beads

Celibacy

Can these beliefs and practices be supported by the Bible?

Is there a record of any of the Apostles believing or practising any of these?

If not, is it OK that we bring practices of idolatry to a God that says His name is Jealous?

Is it wise to refuse to check these teachings against the Bible?

Have you thought of the consequences of facing God Who called Himself a consuming fire?
