A Defender with his level of Experience cannot go match rusty just easily like that except if he was out due to injury.

Onyekuru would have been more effective, if he was played in his favourite position.

Ogu seems to be lacking match fitness

It is not a match fitness issue. He got injured by the opponent.

komekn:
We have had a lot of possession early on but we did not Kill off the match.

We may yet regret this complacent approach.

I am not OVERLY impressed we are improving but a lot if work to be done.

We are now letting the Egyptians back into the game because we never KILLED IT OFF when we had all the possession without penetration.

It is normal for a team that is down to increase their push for a goal while the leading team goes more conservative to maintain their score line. U don't expect the Egyptians to bow out without a fight.

forget....it.
just wait for the afcon to start proper then you will marvel on what was the reason then for the wild celebrations by this debutant nations
many will be the first to head home after the group stages......

if we happen to play Egypt...I foresee us beating them if the players can be psych enough and with the inclusion of Mikel and iwobi in the starting 11

I said Madagascar because they would be coming with an unknown factor

You'ld know what to expect from Egypt and the rest but a country with insane level of motivation like them would be hard to beat, especially as a first match

We won today and I am glad.

Kudos to the defence for keeping things tight at their own end.

Kudos also to Onuachu for the early goal. It really unsettled the Egyptians Gameplan.

Although I wish we won by a larger margin but a win is a win.

Onuachu must not become complacent. Nacho may just awake from his slumber.

Shehu need s to be tried in the DMF position but I fear for his passing. One bad pass and it could spell doom for us.

who are the big boys there?

you guys are acting like Rohr who is always scared and quick to write off his team...many will call it mind game but I see fear all over the German...just want to have a soft landing....

anyway....the Super Eagles can beat any of those teams..well... save for Egypt because of home advantage.

if we are to play Madagascar in all important match where a win is necessary....we will beat them to pulp
I just want us to play Egypt in our group or Ghana. ...

then two light opponents...

I still don't see any reason for Mikel's inclusion into the final squad. It may sound crazy but I think he has paid his dues and its now time for others to step up to responsibility. Over-reliance on Mikel will cost us big time

Guy forget, friendly is friendly. If we happen to meet Egypt in the AFCON expect a completely different game from them especially as they would be playing in Front of their home crowd.

Let's not be carried away by tonight's Victory o.
