Hello professor,
I want to first thank you for your selfless service to this forum.

My budget for a generator is 40,000 naira.
After doing a little research I am a bit interested in Senwei(formerly Elepaq)

What is your experience regarding their 1.8 KVA gens like ECO2990S, ELE3200S, ECO2200S, SPG3200S.

All are 1.8kva and in my budget range.

If you do not advise that I buy Senwei, what other cost effective brand would you suggest.
senwei is not elepaq...stay away from it. As for your budget id suggest you add up money and get Thermocool it's 1-1-1.5kva ...

If working with your current budget is the way you want to go, please go for Firman SPG1800, the original one with Firman engraved on the cab, air filter cover, on the tank etc. The fake one has SUM ECFIRMAN engraved on the tank instead of just FIRMAN, it also has gold coloured bolts and nuts instead of just SILVER.

Although Prof recommends Tec Junior Max for this type, Sumec Firman is not that bad as others have attested to it as well. My friend has been using his for 3 years now. You should get it at the market for 35 to 38K depending on where you are.

Finally, Shine your eyes and buy the original.

well said although I doubt the price because its a lil bit above that price range. Additional advantages of tec is AVR, sumec 1800 uses capacitor

To be sincere, original firman is a goal

Thanks for this wonderful contribution,I don't use firman anyway. I get TIGER 2700(11yrs old grin), Lutian(3yrs old), & new baby Junior max. it's advisable for the man to up his game & buy Junior max. I bought it at 53k today, it's expensive inside big showroom cos its sold for 59k inside those big showroom. For now, anything aside tec it's no no when it comes to medium size gen because I don't think other makers has medium size gen with AVR. TEC has no fake as it's not sold everywhere unlike other brands

Thanks for the pointers
Tec Junior max is beyond my budget (even at 53k) and I don't want to believe it's the only good product on the market.

My options are currently
Sumec Firman spg1800 and Elepaq SPG2200 .

I am not sure which one I should pick yet though the elepaq has a higher rating than sumec.

Would appreciate contributions.

Thanks a million.

I would pick Firman Spg1800.

If you are concerned about the rating, what are you looking to power with it?

You got your Tec Junior Max on the low. Where did you buy it - location? Did you go to PZ showroom or which?

I bought mine at 55K about 10 Months ago at a Thermocool Showroom in Benin City. The last time I was there, the price had already increased to 56/57

I discovered that thermocool partners sells below prices sold at coolworld showrooms across the nation. Inside coolworld showroom, junior cost 58,900naira

Location is Ibadan anyway

My current energy consumption is not much but I am projecting into the nest 1, 2 to 3 years.

I don't want to be forced into buying a new generator when I get a bigger refrigerator or other gadgets.

I want to know if the normal elepaq generators are OK or whether they are poor quality.
Re: Professor On Any Type Of Generator. by stephendamsoho: 12:09am On Mar 27, 2019
Hello, I run a game centre and have a eco3990 generator. my issue with the gen is the fuel consumption. to be more clear 15L of fuel lasts 12-13 hours. if NEPA refuses to give us power in 2 days we would've consumed 30 (Thirty) litres of fuel or even more.
I was told that this is too much fuel and the gen is even too big for the business as a 2.5 KVA gen would carry every equipments at the game centre while consuming a lot less fuel. I was told to "adjust the carburetor" and if the problem persists get a 2.5 KVA generator like the elepaq constant sv6800

my questions are. is the generator consuming too much fuel?

how does adjusting carburetors work and what exactly are the adv and disadv of doing that?

how much fuel on average would my getting sv6800 (or even another gen you can recommend) save me?

would the sv6800 carry the following:
a. 3 32 inch plasma TVs (I plan on adding one more later)
b. 1 40 inch LED smart TV
c. 6 small bush TVs (I'd upload the pics later)
d. 6 ps2 fat consoles
e. 3 ps3 slim consoles (I plan to add one more later)
f. 1 Ps4 slim console
g. 2 ox standing fans
h. a ceiling fan
i. 2 UPS which all the consoles are connected to
. 5 games for each UPS

you can also recommend another generator it doesn't have to be SV6800. just a generator that can carry these appliances while being as fuel economical as possible. just to be clear the eco3990 I'm using is in perfect condition. gives me no issues asides fuel consumption

I would be grateful of these questions of mine are given answers to. thanks in anticipation of your replies.

Then I'd suggest you save up your money and buy 2.2/2.0W-2.8/2.5W later

As for elegaq Senwei, Prof and everyone else has told you to stay away from it because of its low quality.

Anymore question should be specifically directed at Prof. If you want an urgent answer, call his mobile number -08131060632.

copper is the best, how do u know is copper? any gen writing 100% copper on top of the tank, 99% of then are alluminum not copper.
but u can hardly see sumec, elepaq, and luthian product to come with alluminum.

In other words, if "100% copper is written on the tank," I should run away.

I'm actually trying to get a 3.5kva elepaq. I ordered from Jumia, though it's yet to be delivered. The one I ordered on Jumiaj is the red-coloured key-starter constant. I went to a generator outlet for further enquiries and I saw that 3.5kva has both the red and yellow. Which is preferable, please?

Also, the red one at the shop has 3.5kw written on it. The seller was saying the yellow one is more superior...but that the runnih capacity is 2.8kva even tbough 3.5kva was written on it.

The red one on jumia is supposedly 100% copper coil. Thanks.

Good morning Prof, hope you are fine. Please my Tigmax TH3500DX is making a lot of noise after a mechanic changed the piston and rings. The former one was the white plastic type, he removed it and fix the iron one. Please what's should I do?
Re: Professor On Any Type Of Generator. by slap1(m): 11:03am On Mar 27, 2019
Good morning, Prof.

My SUMEC 3000 makes unsteady noises, like the fuel is about to finish. This started after I head it to pump water. The gen is getting to two years, and it's not given me any issues.

I want to take it for servicing, but I'm worried they might make it worse. It still works fine, but the sound has changed.

if ur gen uses avr, then ur avr is the cause.
but if ur gen uses capacitor, the fault is not frm the cap, but is the engine, ur engine is not running smoothly, cos is ur engine that control ur voltage if ur gen set uses cap.

If I understand clearly, a gen uses EITHER an avr or a capacitor?

Which is better..and how can I find out the one my gen uses?

How do you charge the battery?

. . . It's your generator battery you need to replace. Had the same issue and enochgaga made me realise that the battery needed to be charged every 3months hence the battery charging cable that came in the box.

Have that replaced and follow the 3months recharge time and you should be fine.

Please, how do you charge with the cable? Electricity? lipsrsealed lipsrsealed

oh that a big deep freezer, it cant

Okay. Please, to make things easier for me... I have a 220L LG fridge (GL-2250), 1.5 hp Polystar AC, a 32-inches LED TVC tv, decoder, 18'rechargable fan, two power saving bulbs and a 22l Midea Microwave. What brand and KVA of gen will you advise I get?

If I were to add a 4/4.5kg washing machine to it in the nearest future, what kva can carry all of the above? Of course, I would not use the AC plus washing machine simultaneously.

God bless you! This thread is gold!!
