What "work" are they there to do exactly? Clean up the oil spill? Or is it to silence the protesters?

The way this government turn to soldiers at every opportunity is quite baffling.

What if the spill was out of pipeline vandalism? The soldiers have to be there to maintain peace and stop the boys from breaking more pipes to avoid more damage.

If you were wise, you would know that there are people in Rivers State who share traits with the igbos. Shey I told you, SS is not a tribe. Rivers State is not a tribe. Therefore, you can only speak for yourself. Those who have alliance with the Igbo will decide.

There are people in Bayelsa who share traits with people in Delta...there are people in Delta who share traits with Edo...there are people in Edo who share traits with Ondo and even as far as the north.

Sharing traits is a very normal thing Sir....Rivers state is not an Ibo state. If those who share trait want join Biafra, they can always leave Rivers and move to Biafra but stop adding Rivers state to your wish list for Biafra.

What's this deep need for Rivers?? This is how it begins....You guys say u want a country that speaks only ibo for ibo people but u want to add Rivers becos of Oil. If Rivers was a dry and barren land will u guys be including Rivers??

Ibos are funny....u complain about marginalization and that has been d driven force of ur fight for emancipation but in that your agenda you have included a minority that you will also marginalize. Is that not the height of hypocrisy??

And let no one come here to say Rivers people will have equal rights...we all know it is impossible. If Biafra should stand today and Rivers is part of it....Rivers people will suffer and will be the new SE crying of marginalization.

I repeat...during the biafra war, ibos terrorized Rivers people. Took their properties, their farm products, their homes and many more.

I pity and Rivers person that thinks Biafra will be better than NIGERIA. It will be the worst.

Please go and have ur ibo country in peace and leave us alone. We are Nigerians!!! If we tire we form Niger Delta country...but we will never be under ibos. GOD FORBID!!!

Question 1: Does SHELL still operate in Ogoni?

Question 2: If the answer to the first question is a resounding no, then HOW DID THE OIL SPILL COME ABOUT?

Question 3: Assuming I leased a parcel of land from you, then I decided to fall some trees on the land. As the owner of the land, you decided that you want to use the wood from the trees as firewood. Taking the firewood into your home, you discovered that the fire wood were ant infested and as a result you have ants, frogs and snakes in the log of wood. Should I be heard responsible

There is a lot you do not know when you just see news that you know nothing about.
Oga what has this got to do with shell operating or shell not operating? that narrative you just gave gives a clear indication you know nothing about what is happening there,, There are various wells sunk around that area and the Oil is carried from the wels by pipes to a flow station which is meant to go fru a major trunk line to the refineries. These are steel pipes which are prone to rupture, leaks at joints and vandalisation. These pipes are still functional as Oil is still pumped from the wells therein. Now, Who you think is responsible for the maintenance of these pipes?

Use ur brain na....

Did I say I want Niger Delta?? I said we are Nigerians and if we are tired of that we form Niger Delta rather than be under the ibos.

But for people like you whose greatest heart desire is to serve the ibos and be there slave....we won't stop you. You can pack your bags and relocate to Biafra....Mr I want to be a slave to the ibos.

Glad u said you want to be a slave to the igbos, but I doubt as an Igbo slave u will be productive. No Igbo man wants a lazy "our oyel" shouting bot. If not for oil, I don't know what else u pride yourself in.

Then why are we having this argument??

Why are u quoting me??

If you know that you guys have no interest in Rivers or her resources, then it means I'm saying rubbish....so no need to reply me na but the fact that u keep trying to make a point, which you think is sensible, says alot.

And my whole rejection of Biafra for Rivers does not rest on oil....Rivers is not Biafra, we will never be...let that eat at u.

Let you and ur hardworking brothers fight for ur biafra and work hard to make it a significant country....and leave me and my lazy people alone. What is the problem??

Truer words have never been spoken.

The latter.

The reason you'll probably never get things right in Nigeria. Defending the wrong and desperately trying to make it seem right.

That's not the job of armed military personnel with almost no training on dialogue or interaction with civilians.

That is wrong and you know it.
If the shameless govt had any conscience it will coerce the company to take responsibility and begin a clean up immediately and that will be after issuing an apology.
