Sorry bro, it might also be a trap from taxify, they don't want you to have the 4k bonus
It was my bad, had a request on uber from Ilaje going to freedom way, took rider like 20 mins, so I have to leave taxify option open since I'm looking for mainland trip while I wait... As rider was opening the door, taxify trip rang, dat was how my gp dropped. She gave me extra 1500 sha and I gave her 5*

You r very correct, d rate let you prepare yourself for d trip. Either gud or badt.

Maybe I don't get the point you guys are trying to make, but I don't see how the impact of not picking a rider within position affects my earnings

The probability of me picking someone twice in a week for me was very very low. And even if the system doesnt pick me, won't someone else request for a ride? If there's something I like the rating for, it's the fact that it notifies the next driver of what his next rider is going to look like. Imagine everyone here rating riders 5 stars.

If uber is not doing anything about low rider's ratings, I'd doesnt mean it's entirely useless. When you get a request and you see the rider's rating as 2.74, it helps you to prepare mentally for the trip. It's the effort of previous drivers that you just enjoyed.

Maybe I'm the one not getting the point here, but this is the view I wanted us to see

If you are in a similar situation next time, just accept and tell the rider you're on a trip & might take 10mins to complete it, he/she would cancel

Danfo is more profitable if it's driven by the owner, but u ll get the money in a very hard way. Giving your vehicle out on rental is better on Uber than public transport ( danfo) on daily delivery.
Brother , I won't deceive u. You ll go thru Hell while waiting to collect money for deliver in danfo bizness.
My advice, do not do it if u can't drive it yourself

Thanks so much God bless

Do not encourage her to jump ship immediately.

A steady pay-check every month no be moin moin.

Also she need to test the waters before jumping ship.

1. She need to test how "manageable" is her car for the day-to-day operation. She claimed to be a banker, so I think the vehicle need to be stress test before venturing out. Maybe she rent out the car for like 3-5 months to see if it breakdown or not. Bankers only drive early in the morning and late at night, so during the day their cars are not working. The car need some serious test run on Uber/Bolt operation.

2. Driving for a living isn't easy. The last time I was stucked behind the wheels for 9 hours commuting from Lagos to Ibadan was the day I truly respect EVERY PERSON DRIVING FOR A LIVING. Men, I didn't drive my car for next 5 days after the journey. Now imagine doing that on a daily basis.

3. She is leaving a "SANE" environment for "UNSANE" environment. Pardon my French. LASTMA, VIO, AIRPORT DRIVERS, DANFO DRIVERS do not harass her in her banking hall but would do when she start.

I would recommend, you guide her before she jump the ship.

A child doesn't just start running, a child need to crawl, take the first baby step, walk, before thinking about running. grin grin grin grin grin

Well Done to Everyone.

Back to my Siddon Look "On The Other Side of Fence" wink wink wink wink
Assuming its a guy that's involved, I can encourage him but I don't know of ladies.
Yes its a steady pay as per bank job, but bank job can be frustrating especially when u are just contract staff. And you can be there for years without achieving much, no CV upgrade, no time for yourself, no encouragement from work. It is sometimes discouraging work in banking sector especially the junior staff. Bank teller, sorting, OND marketers. No fulfilling at all

Irrespective of the gender, leaving a paycheck for UBER/BOLT need some planning.

You can transit into it gradually but jumping the ship isn't advisable.

Cashflow is important.

Being a Car Owner driver comes with its advantages and disadvantages.

Part of the disadvantages are:

1. You're responsible for all bill of repairs

2. You're responsible for all preventative maintenance.

3. You are can't plan for all emergency expenses arising for the daily usage of the vehicle.

Part of the advantages are:

1. You don't pay weekly rentals

2. You're not under any pressure to deliver

3. You're not responsible for major car repairs etc

Imagine quitting your job and after 2 weeks of continue daily 10-12 hours operation on UBER/BOLT you need to change your car engine. Would you now start looking for a weekly rental?

Before you quit your job for UBER/BOLT, ensure you're not on a suicide mission with your CASHFLOW.

Well, Sam, to be Frank with you, This is 2019 not 2009. So please make a meaningful statement?

If you aren't clear about what is said, you asked meaningful questions in a polite way.

The way things are done in 2009 isn't the same way it is done in 2019.

"She need to test how "manageable" is her car for the day-to-day operation. She claimed to be a banker, so I think the vehicle need to be stress test before venturing out. A car driven for 10 -12 hours daily is different from a car used for 2-4 hours daily.

So testing the car before quitting her job isn't a bad idea.

If rider cancel, ur rate will drop

Yes but that is completion rate not acceptance rate. Your completion rate was much higher than the least. If one could even afford to boost the acceptance rate at the expense of the completion rate by getting people to request and then cancel themselves, with both targets still being met: then it's a GOAL!
