This is one of the reason why nigeria politicians re refusing to fund the military and especially the army.
Imagine the the Algerian army chief telling the president to step down.
No matter how bad the president is, am sure there re other legal means to unseat a president.

Well the chief of stuff only talk about the position of the army . many poeple said that bouteflika have the army with him thats why he want to stay more . so the chief of stuff only said that the army is always with its population and the solution for this problem is to refer to the constitution article 102 .

Some info on Asagai family of 155mm ammo. Those little squares on the shrapnel kill zone pics are football fields btw! Dont f with 155mm.

Would NOT want to be close to that G-5 muzzle brake when it goes boom.
Blew my eardrum and got pretty bad concussion from being next to a Olifant when it fired.

ALL arty guys have hearing issues, whatever the country.

Obviously the troops are not only filming but uploading their legless buddies onto FB! Either they're ignoring standing orders or haven't been issued such orders which is difficult to beleIve:either way its really not a good look for the NA.

They also should have gone for Rooivalk instead of Tiger. The Tiger has been an absolute disaster.
They had to rely on other countries for attack heli support in Afghanistan.
Rooivalk was built for hot-and high work from the get-go and its also much more FOB supportable. It's actually the Grippen of Attack helis, because you don't need a dedicated airbase to re-arm/refuel.

My goodness!
Not that Australia had much of a choice. There were delays with the helicopter’s software. Parts must be shipped to Europe for repair, a time-consuming and expensive process. Worst of all, the air conditioning units and power capacitors broke down and filled cockpits with toxic, black smokeDuring one incident, “the window was jammed shut after not being checked during pre-flight inspections so the crew was forced to take the risky step of blowing the canopy off to ventilate the cockpit,” the Australian reported in 2012.

Trust in the aircraft deteriorated so much, that pilots effectively mutinied in 2012 by refusing to fly. “Usually you have to fight to stop military pilots from flying,” a defense source told the newspaper.

However a more recent article has a more nuanced view:
Army personnel who fly the aircraft have an overwhelmingly positive view of it. They note that it’s a highly agile and potent platform, with superior manoeuvrability to other, similar types of helicopter, which makes it easier to fly and to focus on mission tasks. They make clear that the platform has matured as a capability, and operators are overcoming earlier challenges. They argue that serious deficiencies such as availability and rate of effort are being addressed, and the absence of a tactical datalink is being rectified, though operating costs are yet to meet desired targets. They also raise the prospect of a capability assurance program that will maintain the Aussie Tiger as a useful capability through to its replacement in 2025, and also potentially provide upgrades to deal with issues that the ANAO currently lists as deficiencies.

Anyway they're retiring their 2 squadrons. Procurement decisions aren't as easy as fan girls would have us believe. I'd pay to read the entire process.

52Cal refers to the length of the barrel compared to the caliber of the ammo. A 155mm round can fit (sideways ,so 155x52=barrel length) 52 times in a 52cal barrel.
Nato MOU specs for 52cal has a 23 liter camber. That refers to the volume you can use for you charges. Denel developed the project Losfoor ammo and guns in the 90's. They were looking at higher chamber volume for even more range.
It's actually not all about range. A 52cal Asagai round has a much shorter flight time at lower elevation/range. This means less time for the environment/airpreasure changes etc. to have an effect on accuracy. It also allows for better multiple rounds simultaneous impact performance.

MRSI firemissions can resemble a B-52 strike.

How many guns were involved in that fire mission?
Re: African Militaries/ Security Services Strictly Photos Only And Videos Thread by 61mech: 3:06pm On Mar 29, 2019
Hard to say. Might have been a battery firing a MRSI firemission or multiple batteries. You can't even count the hits.
Any unit under that would have no time to get into cover. Plus you'd have more fire for effect incoming for the next 10 mins.

Problem is, every time there's a new problem like smoke in the cockpit the whole fleet gets grounded until its sorted. Very much like whats going on with the 737 Max at the moment.
The Rooivalk had to be over designed ,because they only had access to the big Turbomeca's and gearbox used in the Oryx. That's why it overperforms in hot and high conditions compared to the Tiger. In a way its the same philosophy Toyota uses to build the landcruiser.
It's not just the Aussies that had problems with them. There's a reason its not been a very good seller outside of the countries that bought into the development form the start.

Compare that to the Rooivalk which operates in austere environments in Africa without any issues by airforce with a fraction of the resources.

Honestly in a fair world they'd have gone for the Rooivalk. Johnny Brit would've also bought at the same time but IIRC the US refused to share the codes that would've enabled it to fire the Hellfire, standard NATO ATGM thus nixing the deal despite the reliability of the Mokopa.
I think that's why Malaysia also said no.

Of course we all understand what he meant.
Algeria is not the only country in the world that has refused to recognise the existence of Israel as a sovereign entity. Not that it changes anything though.

Launch an offensive against Israel? undecided, that will be a wild dream that will never come to pass, unless Algeria wishes to be eradicated by the USA, you can't attack Israel unprovoked and think Washington will sit by and watch, even without US, it won't happen. Israel do whip ass bro.
Even before such an attack is launched, Israel would be aware of it, the Mossad is one bad mother

Israel cannot afford to fight a long sustained war against well trained and well equipped enemies, the last few battles they fought have seen them losing more soldiers and weapons. A well layered air defense systems will make sure you don't lose any battle against Israel. Their might lies in their Air Force.

Algeria dont have the capacity to launch a global conventional war against a far country like israel .( same for israelian army) . if we had borders with them maybe . but actually even palestinians have not the willingness to fight so algeria keep a distance from this case and only help palestinians with some food medics ,ect... scholarships . and some diplomatic things .. thats.all
