We are indeed grateful to the Lord that rules in the affairs of men. And that is why when the world say "No" we declare that we have a "Yahweh" who is a specialist in impossibility. Timeline: IELTS: First Ielts Oct 2017 LRWS- 7.5/7/6.5/7 Second Ielts 20 Jan 2018 LRWS - 8/7.5/7.5/7.5/7.5 Spouse Ielts: 4th April 2018 LRWS- 5.5/6/6.5/7 ECA: May 3 2018 – WES / Spouse ECA –May 20 2018 ITA: 23 May 2018 AOR: 27 July 2018 MEP/IP1: 19 Aug 2018 Job mail: 4th Sept 2018 Received Gcms note – Feb 2018 From the Notes, file transferred to AVO – 4th Sept 2018 – workload redistribution ADR: 21 Feb 2019 – Famous 5 ( payslips, bank statement highlighting salary deposits, family information form and schedule A). ADR submitted: 27th February 2019 IP 2- 3rd April 2019 PPR: 4 April 2019 VO: Accra Family of 2 DECISION TO TRAVEL: We decided after our marriage in late 2017 that we wanted to take this "migrating out of the country" seriously. We had earlier tried study route but really didn't work out, so we decided to try PR route. I did the first Ielts with Australia PR in mind but as God will have it I met a friend at the centre who introduced me to Nairaland and told me the Canada PR route is faster and easier. IELTS: I had already done academic ielts like twice so I was not totally new to ielts. Practised with Liz ielts material online and bought British Council practise book. After the first attempt I focused on writing and the listening for the second attempt. ECA: ASUU strike of 2017/2018 really delayed us but we were lucky with Wes and a contact in our school that made it fast. POF: Personal saving 60% Gift Deed 40% of POF deposited to my account 2weeks before submission (AOR) from my dad. I also submitted wify bank statement to serve as a buffer. In submitting POF, I did a LOE with a table analyzing the attached documents which were notarized gift deed, transfer slip, bank statement and screenshot of exchange rate from xe.com. Fast-forward to Jan 2019, I transferred a bulk of about half of POF to Wify's account and she transferred it back the next day we got ADR mail. Guess it didn't raise any flag though as we added a well detailed LOE for it. JOB REFERENCE: Luckily, I have worked with the same company from 2013 to date, so I got reference letter in CIC format. MEDICALS: Medicals done at Children’s practice. After AOR: When I got the Job mail on 4th Sept I literally told wify to " fasten your seat belt" its going to be a bumpy ride. I thought our file has been transferred to LVO as that was the prevailing pattern then. So we were not expecting update until about 5-6months. Her Passport was already less than 6months by Jan. 2019, immediately we decided to renew the passport and it was uploaded on 4th Jan 2019. I got an acknowledgement mail stating our file was in Accra and the passport updated. I was shocked! Shocked at the fact that our file was in the dreaded AVO as a lot of plans were going on, thinking we could move in January hopefully. But the wait continued. When our file was exactly 6months, I mailed AVO and Ralph but no reply. Also, I called the phone lines but nothing concrete came out. I then raise CSE on 18th Feb to AVO and surprisingly ADR came 3days later. We submitted then the wait continued......... PPR: Randomly I checked my profile as usual and suddenly on 3rd April and noticed status has changed to "Profile updated", then moved to Ip2. At around 11am the next day, 4th April, I saw a mail and Lo and behold it was the Golden PPR mail after 8 months and 8 days. Finally It ended in Praise. I am indeed grateful to this thread and everyone for the contribution and advice. This thread supplied me with all the information i used. 77 Likes 2 Shares |

2. I believe so. I filled in my academic qualifications (including the ones I did not do ECA for) pre-ITA. 3. What is applicable to is also applicable to your spouse. Adunnee: 2 Likes |

Hi, So I don't have payslip for where i currently work and i know uploading it is optional. But i was thinking of highlighting my salary deposits on my bank statement but the bank statement doesn't show the name of my company. It's either deposited as "pay" or "April" or "March salary". I guess i shohdn't just bother including it then. What do you advice? 1 Like |

kentoski: I wish I could, but any general advice will not do much good. Every person’s writing inadequacies are unique, and each person needs a personal tutor to groom them, by the tutor reviewing their writing samples. However, you need to be sure your tutor is good in writing. 2 Likes |

ANYBODY, EVERYBODY Before you start writing at all, plan/think on paper. Write out your points for each side and note which you are better equipped to support or be against. Now the essay; Introduction: Your intro needn't be long but must be captivating. What you are trying to achieve is get the attention of the marker. If you can get the marker's interest at this point, you are most likely to get a good grade. Here's how I think you could do that. However precise your intro is make an opinion. Let the marker know which side of the argument you are. Particularly for essays that ask you to speak for or against. Paragraphs: Each paragraph must carry a view point. A good number of paragraphs shud suffice to argue your points. I wouldn't go more than 3-4 though. Use Connectives: These are words that help link your thoughts. E.g However, yet, on the other hand, therefore, furthermore, although etc. When you use these words, you help the marker focus on your main ideas. Although, connectives like first, second are too basic. I wouldn't use them. Share a view on the other side: This I learnt while preparing for Toefl. When you are done arguing your points in about 3 paragraphs. Let your 4th paragraph say a few thing about the other side of the argument. Say you are writing about early marriage. Let's assume you are arguing for, you can also say something like On the other hand, when people marry late they tend to be ready and are better mature to handle issues when they arise. This however is not enough point to say marriage at old age is better But at this point remember that isn't ur position and also counter it in a way. The reason you have to counter it immediate is so you let the marker know your view point is better. Conclusion: Your conclusion should summarise your paragraphs. Sometimes a single word that encapsulates your thought is enough for summary. 35 Likes 14 Shares |

U only need to evaluate WAEC if u are using WES for ECA, others do not require WAEC. Was the experience in the same organization? If it was, it can pass for a year experience, your reference letter will only indicate the the period u worked. My opinion though, let the seniors respond. Skillzthebadguy: |

Yakay: Thanks for your response! Does that mean the PGD is not useful in this pursuit. I'm combining 2 results, one has no date of birth (they haven't started adding it then) while the other has wrong day, month, and year. |

23rd March 2019...LRWS: 8.5/8/6.5/7.5 BC The writing part2 Topic was about FASTFOOD and its effect on lifestyle and diet. However, I was writing with the thought of fastfood shops (mr biggs, chicken republic, etc) THESE ARE NOT FASTFOOD oo. It was after the test that I realized that fastfood is actually the food itself and it can be prepared anywhere (even at home ). I wrote @least 280 words. Do I go for a remark? (I will toss a coin) How long does EOR take? (I dunno) Do I need help in writing? (yes I do) |

As for the job, if it falls in NOC A,B and 0 and fulfils the requirement in terms of working hours, then it's one year experience. I don't think WAEC follow EE, hence, it's not needed Skillzthebadguy: |

You have all it takes to ace IELTS...why not give it a quick retry as it's 'hot' and give it a remark if you have the means. Remark is usually 6 weeks though SQLmastar: 2 Likes |

Pabodan: The wife should be the PA. She has age advantage, and her profession is evaluated as a professional degree by WES. If she scored the minimum of 8777 in IELTS, has 3 years work experience, her CRS score should be around 473. The hubby can still take IELTS as he'll be needing it future, and it'll also increase their score further. 1 Like |
