Nnamdi Kanu: "The Laws Of Nigeria Allows Me To Ask For Biafra" by gidgiddy: 10:12pm On Apr 06, 2019
In an epic broadcast this evening, IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, used the Nigerian constitution to support his agitation for Biafra as well as deride his current trial for treasonable felony.

Kanu said that besides UN and AU charters on self determination, both of which Nigeria is a signatory to, a law enacted in Lagos in 1983 called "Cap A9, Laws Of The Federation Of Nigeria", ratified in 1993 and codified in 2004 under the Obasanjo administration expressly allows all people the right to agitate to exit Nigeria. He further stated that article 2 of that law allowed people to freely choose what political entity they wanted to belong to

Kanu also stated that section 41 of the Nigerian criminal code defines the 4 actions which one must undertake, in whole or part, to have committed the crime of treasonable felony which he was charged to court for. They are:

(a)            to remove during his term of office otherwise than by constitutional means the President as Head of State of the Federation and Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces thereof; or

(b)            to likewise remove during his term of office the Governor of a State; or

(c)            to levy war against Nigeria in order by force or constraint to compel the President to change his measures or counsels, or in order to put any force or constraint upon, or in order to intimidate or overawe any House of the National Assembly or any other Legislature or legislative authority; or

(d)            to instigate any foreigner to make any armed invasion of Nigeria or of any of the territories thereof; and manifests such intention by an overt act, is guilty of a felony and is liable to imprisonment for life.

Kanu said that he has never tried to remove Buhari(Jubril) or any Governor from office through unconstitutional means and neither has he levied war on Nigeria through anybody, foreign or domestic.

He also said that "secession" is not known to the constitution of Nigeria, so it is not possible for him to commit a crime that does not exist in Nigerian law.

Kanu rounded up by saying that his inability to attend court was due to the assassination attempt on his life by the Nigerian government using the military

Why is Kanu now interested in "asking" for Biafra? I thought he wanted to "create" Biafra

Tell him to first return here and then register a Biafran political party with INEC since he is now interested in a legitimate process under the law.

Register a Biafran political party?? So that Inec will continue with their rigging spree and tomorrow people like you will start mocking the party the way you're doing with PDP currently.
If you don't have something reasonable to say just shut up its not a must to comment.

Nnamdi KANU is wiser than Nigeria president, security agents & their politicians including half baked judges.

They said he should join politics by registering a party and contest but they forget that Nigeria don't conduct election but (s)election.
