I don't care about any historical rivalry.. same as most guys who are close to me. Fans hating just because of historical rivalry may be sick in the head as far as I'm concerned.. going all extreme for stuff that doesn't even bring money. Definitely not worth the pain and stress. Bigger things to worry about.

Who said anything about going extreme?? Or hating?

The fact is that Man Utd and Liverpool are historic rivals and therefore "most" Utd fans, contrary to what you said, do not also support Liverpool. As simple as that.

And there is nothing wrong with that, as that is what adds the flavour to the COMPETITION (lest you forget the inherent rivalry that comes with competition), that is the English Premier League, and indeed all professional sports.

Its almost like asking who has the time and energy to watch football and be emotionally vested in any particular team (which is what you do when you claim to be a fan of a club).
