EMMAACHILE: What land type is good for such plant? Will a matured tree withstand flood water? |

I'm yet to know why moringa would produce very much when planted at home but in the farm, the trees will only grow tall with very few pods. 1 Like |

Ameboperoo: My answer to that will be the level of care (in terms of agric practice) given to each. While i have never visited any major commercial moringa farms, the little farms i know around me basically plant moringa to harvest the leaves as a secondary benefit, the primary being just to demacate and preserve land. At home, the plants are used almost twice a week (assuming you don't have someone like me in that house who finds a reason to consume at anytime) and there's the benefit of constant watering, mulching and manuring... 1 Like 1 Share |

kingharzy:The trees around the house grow very big with a lot of branches without a single care. The ones in the farm grow very thin with very few pod. I tried to make them free from weed as much as possible but no improvement |

Ameboperoo: Have you tried applying nutrients to the trees in the farm? Most lands of our homes have high nutrients. |

Ameboperoo:Ahh. . . This one is a strong issue but i may suspect prevalance of a wide range of pests and diseases confined to the farms though much investigation will be needed to prove my suspicion. |

But when the same conditions where applied to cashew trees, both the ones in the farm and those at home did very well. The difference is not much. 1 Like 1 Share |
